Didn't need any of that...Helen Merrill was a musician, as opposed to today's "performers" who rely on skanking around on stage half-clothed, and rely on the computer to cover up their short comings. But don't expect the Rhodes Scholars in Queen Bey's Hive to understand the difference.

Thed 60s where many of the beatiful faces ot actresses made several wonderful and unforgetable movies now considered classics some of them are remaked in modern movies but failed to live up to the original. One Sunday afternoon 29 years ago, there was a song by Merill and Getz played on radio. It was the song that opens jazz world to me. From there I went on to Oscar Peterson trio....and so on.

I don't know who wrote the English version but several anglo-american great stars recorded the song including the fabulous Nina Simone. This version is very beautiful.
