This message reminds me of a video about “building” confidence. We cannot fake true confidence, so in that sense, it isn’t something that is built out of nothing. True confidence comes from stripping away the insecurities that we acquire throughout our lifetime. Almost every child’s base state before they are socially conditioned is confidence. We must deconstruct the self-doubts and anxieties that hold us back from being our true, confident selves.

Retrospection of one’s own shortcomings can be painful, but it is the most rewarding. Socrates asks us to examine ourselves - life becomes enriched as we question how we live in our beliefs. It’s a beautiful thing that if we want to change it is possible! We should grow, and renew ourselves. there always the presence of peace and contentment, from the very activity of examining and being in alignment to the values we hold high.💗 Very inspiring! 🙏

Very interesting timing because I recently wrote something about this very thing. Rather than explain it, I'll just post part of it here for you and others if they wish to read it: "When we think of the image of the devil, we tend to think of the obvious representation as someone who commits terribly violent acts. This causes us to overlook its subtle, everyday verbal expressions that, although not as overtly threatening, are still a detriment to one’s psyche. They’re often masked by a “well-intentioned” tone or by their unassuming convention. So, beware of the things said under the guise of ”what’s best for you,” as it is often framed, doubling as a suggestion that your conformity is virtuous and righteous and will be rewarded by the world-it has a million ways of putting you in a box for the sake of its own comfort. The real trick, the real evil of this, is that nothing will be forced upon you, but instead you will repress your own nature and self-censor your soul, just like the “good little boy (or girl)” they wanted you to think you are. You will feel there is something wrong with you for “not living up to expectations,” when the wrongness is actually in what you were taught, what you believe, and the falsehoods in which you have been living as a result of conforming to the devils of the world. "

I think it needs to be deeper than what some Philosophers say. You need to not only stop thinking, but rather feeling, turning inwards. So that if you wanted to find an ideal self (what is that?) you would if you ever reach that state need to ask for help and find God as he is the only one who can give you the light that you carry within you. He is the only one that can empower you. And you can live a life independently from others. Free from seeking validation from others. This is my belief.

Thank you for the video, @acceptingtheuniverse. I have a question on which I would like to hear your thoughts. We put on a lot of external things (knowledge, desires, goals, etc.) on ourselves - and some of them are rocks in our pockets as you put it. One should throw them away in order to get rid of unnecessary weight that was given by other people and blindly accepted (as we did not know any better being children). How does one distill his true desires, beliefs and goals to sculpt the work of art out of himself? How does one know when the remaining "rocks" in the pockets are the rocks that he truly wants to have and not because of the external conditions? And that they are indeed the rocks?
