I don't know if anybody has ever commented about this, but I noticed this right away from day 1. Now I'm 75 and growing up there were no malls, no color TV and very few programs worth watching. Nowadays, most families will go to their own personal TV and watch their favorite programs or go to the mall. Hardly anybody can say that as a family they eat dinner together and do things together. Ya'll do things as a FAMILY. Ya'll work TOGETHER. These are the family and childhood memories that are important. These are the memories that last a lifetime. These are the moments of quality living. You should be very PROUD of how you and your family are living. It's a Generational Heritage that you are living and passing on to the next generation. Y'all have my sincere admiration. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

If you had to only one crop to plant that you had to survive off of it would probably be potatoes. If I could only plant one but had other food to eat then I would plant corn. You can use corn to make grits and corn meal for bread and you can use it to feed chicken and other animals that you could eat.

Maggie is so cute! The sunflower is King of the garden. Jacob is also doing well with his garden. Your children love the life you are giving them. It's so precious watching them. I love sweet potatoes, but I'm the only one that eats them. I do have some slips growing so when I harvest my onions which will be soon, I will plant my slips there and I will take whatever I can get. I love the leaves as well. I take them and dehydrate and powder up to add to my smoothies for the nutrition. Plus I will sauté them in the skillet also. Anxious to see if the 20 year old seeds will work after being kept in the freezer. If they do, it sounds like that is where some of the seeds need to be kept.

You squeeze the bottom of the flower bulb and the two petals open up like a “Dragon’s” mouth. Very pretty and colorful. And you can open them and they shut when you let go. Over and over till the por little ting wilts away 😂

I love Maggie's flower garden and Jacob's vegetable garden. They look great. I bedded some sweet potatoes this year in some containers and some of them sprouted and made good slips while others didn't. I think I watered them too much. I bought some slips so I would have enough to plant a row in my garden. As usual when you buy plants by the bunch, a few weren't that good so I used mine to fill out a row. Thank you Andy for showing me how you bed yours. Grandma and Grandpa bedded them years ago when I was little but we never bedded any after Grandpa died in 1975. I've never seen any bone sauce before. I'm still using Liquid Fence and it still works fine. I don't mind paying for something that works good. Y'all have a great day!

Maggie is just adorable showing off her flower garden. Love watching how well the children do in growing food and flowers. So rewarding for them. As for Garlic, it's been a strange year for sure. We plant our garlic a good 5 inches down and top dress with 5 inches of shredded leaves. Planted on Oct. 31st. Everything thing looked wonderful until a squirrel got in and dug up a few. We picked our scapes on May 29th and by June 5th the bottom four leaves had died back and the tops started to brown so we picked them all. It turned out to be a great harvest. So much earlier than past years when we waited a good 3 or 4 weeks after picking scapes.
