Peas and dumplings
Simmer 1-2 cups green peas until peas are tender. Add 1 tbsp butter. Add 1 cup milk. Salt, pepper to taste. Continue to simmer while you make your dumplings. For the dumplings use 1 cup self rising flour, 1 tbsp of butter or lard, cut in butter or lard like you were making biscuits. Add about 1/2 ish cup of buttermilk or plain milk. Combine. Bring pea mixture to boil. Drop in small pieces of dumpling dough. Cover and let cook around 5 minutes or until dumplings are fluffy and bready in the middle. Serve warm and enjoy!

This is what life is all about, family, the satisfaction of being able to provide for yourself. These are LIVES well LIVED ! PS: Your cooking always makes me hungry ! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Oh my goodness!!! The amazing smells coming from this video!!! Fresh cut hay, smoked pork chops and peas and dumplins!!! Pardon me while I wipe the drool off my chin 😂
Love to see Andy saving the turtle...respect for all life 💯
Glad that little turtle got his life spared.
We have a turtle that showed up two years ago and she has a shell that is painted red. She hibernates on our property and every spring “Red” goes to our porch and tries to climb up the steps. We spend a lot of time looking for that turtle before we mow.😂

Who knew watching hay being cut could be so therapeutic, lol❤
♥️✝️🇺🇸 Megan your supper looks so delicious ! Andy man I was so happy when you saved the critter from the hay field, I am almost 70 years old now and over the years I have saved numerous critters from the road ways ♥️ love life !
Peas & dumplings are a new one for me. Those peas sure looked good and would be tasty even with just butter and garlic powder. Now those pork chops look amazing! Great meal. Awe, so sweet Andy saving the turtle, I don't know how he even saw it. Fresh hay has a wonderful smell for sure. Hoping the weather man is right don't you know. TYFS
Love watching! Andy Great Job getting the turtle out of the way!
Nothing prettier than fresh mowed hay field. Love those peas.
A cousin of mine and his family from Indiana came in for a visit. My wife fixed some new potatoes and gravy with fresh peas. They loved it. They even took pieces of cornbread and wiped, or as we say it "sopped the pot" that she fixed the new potatoes and gravy in completely clean. We got a big kick out of it. They said, "that is the best thing we have ever eat. You can't beat good home country cooking.
Andy, all the rain was the reason for the good hay - in Jesus name Amen!

I love fresh peas. One of my favorite garden veggies. Of course I have to countryfy them..lol. Creamed with little new potatoes, and sometimes little onions if I have them, and a pone of cornbread. Yum! Now that is good eating. I have never had them with dumplings. I will try that the next time I have a mess ready. Hope ya'll have a great week and God bless!
New to your channel but really enjoy watching your videos. I’m gonna try to make self start comment and I usually don’t comment on anybody’s videos. I just watch videos.

New subscriber here. I am enjoying your videos very much. 😊
Good Morning ❤ I want to say congratulations to all the winners. Have a great day 😊.
I realized I have the biggest smile on my face while I watch this video. Especially at the end with the wonderful meal. Thanks for sharing your day! ❤
My Grandpa and my Father in law had a farm. I loved driven the tractor while they threw the hay on the wagon. I guess they had me driven 'cause I wasn't very good at pitchen the hay bails .LOL Hay looks beautiful and so did that fine supper. You two are amazing love watching what you do. HI to the kids! Thank You. Hugs, Rebekah
What a nice video. Thank you for taking us along.
Hey from Boone - NC - I live around that area - great meal one of my favorites
Yeah, Andy saved a turtle. Them dumplings look good Megan. The hay is looking good. God bless y'all from the bootheel of Missouri. My favorite pork chops.
G'day
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who eats peas and Dumplings. Love it
Another reason you don't want wet hay: if you put it in the barn, even slightly damp, it becomes a compost pile. Many barns have burned due to wet/damp hay!
A good meal after a hard day of work 😊❤
I am still watching older videos and these are phenomenal. You two are so genuine and I love this and why I can watch so many videos back to back to back.

The reflective tape for the crows, Isn't there some point after the little corn gets tall enough that the crows aren't interested any more? Oh, and I use Bug Buster ll on stink bugs. It even kills those huge Leaf Footed bugs. I had an outburst of them early on my sunflowers. I kept a small sprayer of BB ll in the garden and every time I saw one I sprayed it. They have pretty quickly almost disappeared. The Stink Bugs just devastated the tomatoes, and although you have to be diligent, they disappear when I spray with it. I'm pretty sure we will never completely get rid of any bug. All you can do is manage them. Right?
Make sure you share with us once the hay is bailed. I know those fields are going to be gorgeous!
Love seeing hay being mowed! Never heard of peas and dumplings, but I'm thinking about going to my pea patch now! Looks good and who doesn't love a dumplin'?! I made rhubarb dumplings recently and they were so good! God bless!

I constantly keep an eye out for any type of animal in the grass
Like a lot of other folks in the comments has stated, I’ve never had peas and dumplings. I’m quite sure it’s delicious or the hard working Meagan wouldn’t be cooking it. And those pork chops….. I mean come on !!!! Lol. Hope all goes well with the hay cutting, wish I was there to smell that fresh cut hay ! Love y’all See y’all next video.
My peas have already played out in Texas heat. I have plenty in freezer and have already seed saved and pulled plants, and planted some rattlesnake beans and melons in their place. I’ll have to try the peas and dumplings. That looked so good!
Butter beans and dumplings good too
So nice of you guys to do the give away! Sorry I didn’t win but glad for those who did! Man never did like hauling hay! I only had to drive the tractor, but I still got so hot and itchy lol! For sure going to try me some peas and dumplins ! Take care and God bless yall!
My equipment wouldn't be set correctly. The next day I would go check the field and it would all be standing back up with nothing but the tire tracks to show for my effort.
I bet the dumplings & peas are awesome. I thought at first you were referring to Chicken & dumplings with peas. One of my favorite meals. Enjoyed the live last night. It was exciting. Ya'll take care!

Hi Megan, I have not had peas and dumplings like this. Your recipes are so delicious looking. Your cooking and Andy's farming are so enjoyable to watch. You are both so peaceful and relaxing, while you are working. No wonder farmers love their life and we wish we had your life. Thanks for the video. Anna from Arkansas.

Hey Megan and Andy good morning, that complete is good to have .. it feels so peaceful watching you guys
Hey Andy. Man you are wide open mowing hay. Got mine done and in the barn. I’m going to fertilize my hay field today and speed up the process towards getting a 2nd cut. Good luck on the weather.
Love peas and dumplings!!
I grew up on a farm and hay season was one of my favorite times of the year! Dad wouldn't let us girls buck bales but we got to drive the tractor when it was time to load them on a wagon to go into the hayloft❤ Watching you pick and shell your peas makes me hope mine do well enough to eat fresh and freeze for later!

You weren't missing anything with the hay. My back still hurts and it's been 25 years or more since I touched a bale of hay.
I’ve never heard of peas and dumplings either. My mom used to make the best ham dumplings you ever put in your mouth.
Ain’t nothing like hay cuttin time! Lookin good!

Boy I sure loved hay season as a kid, but I don't miss it now in my 50s lol absolutely gorgeous pork chops had my mouth watering. Stay safe, and God bless
Great video 👍
OMG I was just wondering if you ever hit an animal in the grass…and then you stopped and saved the turtle! Yay! I grew peas for the first time last winter. They were amazing! I need to try them with the dumplings…I was under the assumption dumplings had to be baked for some reason. I guess I am thinking of something like apple dumplings or peach dumplings. I am going to have to try this next fall! Great video!
Always very interested in your videos. Never heard og peas and dumplings. May tey that. Dounds good.
