A couple months after war started, i read that actually Zelenskyy meets his family not very often, so they are in Ukraine (He did not had ANY flights to ANY country at that moment). And the opinion that Crimea needs to be "demilitarized" is the worst thing ever to be, bcz if Putin tooked first time it with whole Ukraine low stability, what will stop him from taking Crimea second time where there is no troops? The "peace" can be easily interrupted just like FIRST and SECOND "Minsk agreements".

It's assuming that Ukraine joins NATO/EU and has a defense pact. Also, if Ukraine rebuilds the dam and is ready to cut Crimea off from electricity, hydro and resources, unlike only being prepared after Russia took control. It wouldn't be easy for Russia to hold it as before and would require Russia to actually invade Ukraine proper. Or at least be so overwhelmingly powerful that they have no trouble building their own infrastructure.

The only comes to my mind when talking about taking over Crimea, is by using HIMARS ATACM Missile to hit at least many of Black Sea Fleet, then utilize M777 directly at minefield for psychological warfare making the enemies think you're attacking from land area not knowing you're attacking from the other side (similar to what allied did during Normandy invasion) it could takes month to make the Russian think and believe the Ukrainian attacking from that side, by the time Russian sending reinforcement, breakthrough with multiple Tank and Mechanized from the window of opportunity while maintaining some level of surprised, this only works if Ukrainian manage to liberate swath area of Kherson. And again like old man once said, amateur talk about strategies while expert talk about logistics.

Exactly. Logistical strikes and advances through vital railway connections is what drove the Russians from Kherson and Kharkiv. Overextended supply lines is what caused their retreat from Kiev as well. IIRC there are only 2 rail connections through Zaporizhzhia that run supply Crimea from the North and one route across the Kerch Bridge which has already been damaged once by Ukrainian forces. Russian positions in Zaporizhzhia have been strengthened because they know that an attack south to Melitopol or Berdyansk would effectively cut off Kherson and Crimea since the bridge is not enough to supply russian forces there.

I mean ofcourse he's allowed to watch it but he honestly thinks this is making him an acedemic on the topic. You gotta remember Russia was only one soviet republic with the USSR. So they were able to pull from much larger population pool than the modern Russia. Minorities within USSR died at a proportionally higher rate, specifically Ukrainians bared the brunt of Nazia assault. Russia is doing the same now with minorities with in Russia dying at a much higher rate than ethnic Russians.

Tommy here continuing to forget what supply is. Like if Ukraine makes it to Perekop are 35,000 Russian soldiers, artillery pieces, tanks, trucks, planes, drones and whatever else really all going to be supplied through Kerch and the Black Sea Fleet? Ukraine has Western drones, rockets and is getting fighters to fight back the russians and the defenders are relying on Iranian shells and pulling 60's era tanks out of stockpile to fight. Russia would starve in Crimea.
