If the Planets Were No Farther Than the Moon

Ever wondered what the view would be like if the planets, or perhaps the largest moons, were no farther from Earth than our moon?

Nice video, it took a while to see the smaller moons/planets, would have been better if you a circle where they were going to be. BTW, why not include Dwarf Planet Ceres if you include Dwarf planet Pluto? Are you not Cerious? (I couldn't resist.)

The perspective is correct for the human eye, but the screen size is a limiting factor. It has a way of compressing things. To show the planets larger would have required zooming but I wanted to keep the perspective true to the human field of vision at the distance of Earth.

Well it sure be cool to see Jupiter or Saturn or even Neptune or Uranus from the moon's location. Problem is we would not get to enjoy the view for long. Consider the effects of tidal forces especially with the giant planets.

Excellent! Ignoring the fact we'd all be fried, how big would the sun look if it was it where the moon is?

I didn't place the sun because the entire sky would have been filled with it. At 384,000 km, we'd practically be on it's surface.

How can there be klingon jokes if the word keeps being mispronounced? Saying there are klingons around Urine-us doesn't really make any sense.

I tried to hire AIs but they're all unionized now and too expensive. Instead, I employed Klingon mercenaries to drag the planets to 383,500 km from Earth so I could photograph them. The great thing about Klingons is they take payment in bubblegum.
