I played upright bass for a large portion of my childhood and let me just say that it is really fun to be able to be a part of two different music groups (classical and jazz respectively).

This is so accurate. If I ever sound off in my band/orchestra I just say my reed's not working.

Clearly the work of one who spent many years in school band and orchestra!! This is ridiculously accurate. I truly appreciate the sad trombone, the small piccolo, the trumpet being the louder more annoying flute, and the correct sheet music!! Bravo, Maestro!

As a bassoonist, I can say that this band not having a bassoon is also accurate.

As a French Hornist, I kept waiting for the horn to show up. When you said horns and showed the tuba though I laughed so hard. People always think we're tubas for some reason 😂 this sketch was on point as usual, even if the tuba/horn thing was unintentional

Now this... This was a masterpiece.

As an ENFP who’s a violinist I can’t disagree

Dude flutes are definitely overlooked in my school! I was primarily a flutist in my band and in the marching band, and I cannot say how much my band director HATED the flutes. It's because we're always in the front, and there were so many of us that it was kind of unnecessary. And I think he'd emphasize how we weren't taught right cause we expend too much air and play too loudly from that (which was true). And I mean, we had this super arrogant flutist who always wanted 1st Flute (usually the ones with solos and higher notes), so my band director probably was annoyed by him as he sat in the first seat right next to him always asking questions. And tbh I think also why he hated the flutes was because during flute lessons, he's struggling to actually teach us because he doesn't play so well on it, since he plays the saxophone and clarinet, or reed instruments Luckily, I think he kind of favored me cause I was just really quiet in general, and also in playing.. cause I was nervous and shy. But I practiced for hours and took it seriously cause I wanted to improve myself. So I actually took his advice on how to conserve your air and control air speed, and etc. But then that meant he wanted me to play the solos, and I did, but bruh I have performance anxiety lol

I never knew Frank could harmonize with himself so beautifully...

@@StephanieJeanne lol French horns are pretty compact - it's tubas and sousaphones that are huge, but pretty sure I spotted a brief tuba appearance doing an 'oomp-a' lol

As a (somewhat) mad (cute) teacher who’s also a piano player I‘ve always been into the acoustic guitar player… The voices of Oboe and Clarinet were perfect!

As a saxophone player I am very sad to not be included in this skit. But as a former band kid I can say the rest of this was absolutely spot on😂

As a flute and piccolo player this was so accurate lol. The trumpet players at my school always steal my ideas. Also my band director's primary instrument is trumpet and he focuses way more on the brass instruments than the woodwinds, especially in marching band. Luckily I get to play picc in marching band this year! (I think my band director has something against picc in marching band. The last 3 shows we did didn't even have a picc part)

Addendum to my prior post: you can break down different musical sections like percussion and their reaction to the triangle, or different pianos such as organ vs grand piano vs keyboard vs the piano that plays one song by itself, etc. I would love the specially featured instruments to face off: harp, bassoon, bass clarinet, euphonium, french horn, etc. They could have different accents like your awesome Spanish guitar here. ❤
