If I Were Single and Starting Over, This Is What I Would Do

If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex

Fellow singles out there, do not fret if you're single on Valentine's Day or just in general! It is not a bad thing to be single and I don't get why a lot of modern dating channels nowadays kinda put people down for being single. Do not rush to get into a relationship with the wrong person, find them and get to know them by going on adventures and dates! It takes time to get a significant other and even then it may not work out. Just do not become jaded and shut yourself off from the world, that's how life loses its beauty in all of the little moments! Cheers!

We broke up right after watching this video 💔 Bittersweet moment, but my partner and I have been clashing heads for months now. It started as little thing, then we both exploded on each other yesterday... We discovered a number of things and, most importantly, not sharing the same end goal. The best part was, after watching this video, Alex structure of the video allowed us to have a genuine conversation. To be brutally HONEST, and we were. How cool! First breakup that ended so pure and full of respect 🙏 I'm really sad. It's by far the worst day of my life because I deeply care for him, but we both know we can't give up on our Own Dreams. 2 great men who love each other
I'm currently divorced. Have been considering for the last several years about whether a relationship is right for me. This solidifies what I think already is that I need to get my life in order before I can ask somebody to be a part of my life. Appreciate this.
I find fulfillment in being single and focusing on my personal goals, hobbies, friendships, and self-growth. The most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. It’s essential to be comfortable with who you are, whether you’re single or in a relationship. Always prioritize your happiness and well-being.

@@Emily-sf8wz It's just pop psycho-blabber. Humans are not wired to be by themselves (and if they are, they have issues, and it's good if they stay away from others); but neither were they wired to be with incompatible others. @roses6564 the comment clearly flew over your head because you are so determined on negating the original commenters experience. I too am single, and I quite like it. I'm comfortable with myself, I enjoy new hobbies and meet amazing people that clearly love to do the same things I do. Am I opposed to a significant other? No. But if I don't have one I'm OK. I'm OK with this life because I'm ok with me. I can sit alone in my own thoughts and be at peace and happiness. It's a priceless feeling. And I would rather this than to be with the wrong person, which is clearly what the man is explaining in the video and the original commenter is saying. We are comfortable. We are not opposed. There's a difference. Go touch some grass.
This is the type of stuff that would benefit anyone on any level. Being predisposed to this level of logic and communication in relationships is awesome. I love the reframing he does, simple takes but he breaks them down so they’re easily understandable. People have said it before but Alex is a pro at taking complex concepts and refining them for anyone. I feel grateful to have watched this.
I don't even know if I want a partner at this point in time. And yet this is all such a relief to hear. It is greatly appreciated!
This was so touching and beautiful. Better than any relationship guru I’ve heard.
I’ve come to similar conclusions myself but to see Alex, someone who I deeply respect and admire elaborate on it is encouraging because it means I’m on the right track.
"Be successful" is good advice. I prayed for some direction in life and God told me to "simply focus on healing myself so that I can sit next to the world's most amazing people"

There's a lot of gems in here, I like the advice you give about being patient with dating. One thing that I'm not completely on the same page on is the part about compromise. I don't think it's realistic for you and your partner to always want the same things for the rest of your life, and I see compromise as a necessary part for a healthy relationship. It *is* easier not to compromise, but there's also something beautiful about valuing the other person's happiness so much that you're willing to maybe give up something that makes you happy.
I don't think I've had anyone point out basically all my flaws, without actually pointing out all my flaws. Man do I feel shit now... But on the positive side, I can see now where I've been failing so badly. Thanks, Alex!!!

He thinks the relationship is going fine. That guy told me a week ago that he is sorry I’m spending Valentine’s Day alone and I should not be sad because eventually I will find someone. As usual, you're OPTIMAL! I'd love to share that sometimes it takes helping someone to understand what metrics you judge them on and why. Which could be the key to having them perform better at the metric you judge them on. Though there could be an argument that if they don't already do it (generally speaking) there performance may never be at the rate you're seeking.

@@thelifewithnate by the looks of you, your balls probably haven't even descended yet. I don't know why you think that your opinion even matters.
On 8:30, I think this ties perfectly with what someone else on YT said on this when I was looking for ways to stop relying on external validation. External validation is when you change yourself to please other people and gain their interest and respect. This completely drops when you can look at someone and then decide how they can serve you. It's a simple shift but it's been important to my own growth
Never thought I would be loving dating advice from a business guru haha. But here i am and this video really resonated with me a lot!!!!!!!
Incredibly well put relationship perspective. Thank you for sharing.
People who believe in hookup culture and casual dating don’t even care about marriage anymore neither have a prospect for it. Valentine’s Day has become a meme in my book😂

And thts their choice
Born and raised in germany to a middle eastern background. Let me share a thought. The generation of my parents that have married through arranged marriages don’t are necessarily happier and all the love stuff but more compatible so the family as a whole seems happier or content. Trying to figure out how to fit my experience and this video regarding that topic. Happy to hear the communities thoughts on it.

Having ur parents or other elder in your life approve of and even help choose a mate is typically a really good idea - from a regular white dude who’s ancestors didn’t do arranged marriages- but who sees there are clear benefits to it.
So nice to see Alex talking about other cool stuff besides business I really feel he’s just as much a philosopher as he is a business man
Damn, a real perspective shift for me. Thank you Alex
I got mine. She's beyond words❤🔥
