If I Needed You - The White Horse Guitar Club
Музыка
'If I Needed You' OUT NOW - shorturl.at/fltUW 🎶
If I Needed You covered by The White Horse Guitar Club - originally composed by Townes Van Zandt. "If I Needed You" was performed on Van Zandt's 1972 album The Late Great Townes Van Zandt.
Video Production - Fionn Mulvey
The story of The White Horse Guitar club is one based around music & friendship. The bond of those two things has drawn a group of likeminded souls together and the shared experience of singing, playing and performing is a long burning fuel that keeps a bright fire lit.
Formed in early 2012, the band evolved from an open club environment into a fully fledged musical touring group of 11 friends in that relatively short space of time. The music we choose to play is deeply rooted in the fine tradition of songwriting that flourishes in the southern states of America, particularly in Kentucky & Tennessee where the Scots/Irish influence was strong. We proudly sing the songs of John Prine, Darrell Scott, Tim O'Brien, Buddy Miller, Townes Van Zandt, Tim O'Brien, Willie Nelson and more.
The WHGC has performed all over Ireland & beyond in the last 3 years, in concert settings and cosy pub corners, as street musicians and as festival favorites.
All good stories are shaped by the twists and turns of the road and the adventure of The White Horse Guitar Club is very much still being written. Keep your ears tuned and your heart open.

I think the Townes would be very happy listening to this .
Townes Van Zandt will never die. Guy Clark told a story about when Townes was living with the Clark's temporarily. One morning at breakfast Townes sang this song. Guy said that's nice. Where did that come from? Townes said "I wrote it last night in my sleep". He just woke up in the middle of the night with this song running through his head so he got up, wrote it down and went back to sleep.

It's okay no one sings licks anyway. Vocalists usually sing hooks, verses and choruses. They aren't that complex. Anyone who wants to get better at it can. Doesn't mean yo will become Pavarotti but if Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan can sing in public with a little practice and maybe a few lessons you probably can too.I can't promise that because some people are tone deaf or have vocal afflictions that make singing pleasingly unlikely. That said most people can sing if they try. And even if you can't there is no shame in having fun with it by yourself or with friends .
My son elijah went to heaven in September...this song ...just popped up on my feed and ....GODBUMPS ..PRAISE GOD ...❤

Beautifully done. Saw Townes numerous times at the "Old Quarter" in Houston in the early seventies, we lived in the same neighborhood in Austin a few years later, he would play on the front porch of his house on Sunday afternoons. At 70 this makes me realize I've lived a very fortunate life.

If I needed you Would you come to me? Would you come to me? For you ease my pain If you needed me I would come to you I would swim the seas For to ease your pain Well the night's forlorn And the morning's born And the morning's born With the lights of love And you'll miss sunrise If you close your eyes And that would break My heart in two If I needed you Would you come to me? Would you come to me? For you ease my pain If you needed me I would come to you I would swim the seas For to ease your pain Baby's with me now Since I showed her how To lay her lily Hand in mine Who could you agree She's a sight to see And a treasure for The poor to find If I needed you Would you come to me?
