I have to say this particular cover of yours ended up being my summer song this year. Always loved the original and never even thought before what it would sound like if redone in a pop-punk sound. I had it on repeat for 2 days right after you posted it lol, have kept it in the rotation near daily this summer and still hypes me up each and every time. Feel without a doubt if this bop got radio time and the exposure it deserved it would easily be a billboard top 10 over the summer. Really appreciate your jams and shining new lights on old classics. Put this on after a brutal, strenuous 14 hour day today at work. Instantly turned my frown upside down. Had to share the love

@@toddbarriage Yeah. Revenge of the Flying Dutchman didn't last long. At least Battle For Bikini Bottom is still working. Actually I had to re-buy Battle For Bikini Bottom from the retro gaming store because my original copy was missing. And it was also because I needed a game for the PS2 and because of the 2003 nostalgia that I had playing BFBB.

I dont know how but this works so well! You never fail to impress, awesome job!

Also, I knew this song but didn't know its name; probably would have clicked it sooner if I did. This song is like... a core memory. My dad used to play it on the radio all the time when I was a kid. Until I read your notes I did not realize Dobie Gray wasn't the original. Ringo Starr covered this as well on his 'Vertical Man' album, featuring Tom Petty, Alanis Morrissette, and Steven Tyler....I liked that version better than Dobie Gray or Uncle Kracker's versions.

It's helped me get through a lot of tough times in my life by helping me remember that there's always something worth looking forward to, even if its just as small as hearing that song you love again.
