Not really, you’re not actually sitting on the egg. As shown in the diagram the seat just compresses at the tips of your butt cheeks which leaves a pocket for the egg to rest in. If you put one butt cheek directly on the egg it would crack.

I sat on one ...felt to damn good. Kinda gross in a way. But I bought one.. Tried it in my car. Tried it in my easy chair. I need another gross feeling chair cushion. It's like sitting on jello.
