Being both a consumer and creator (but on a somewhat smaller scale) has been an interesting journey for me to say the least. It's very rare for me these days to get caught up in idolizing others, or to hold them to this standard of constant perfection like they're nothing but a machine that's trying to appease the algorithm. My creative endeavors have made me feel that to some degree in the past (and bordering on toxic a handful of times), and I know that it's not fair to be seen as nothing but a machine who has to constantly push out content. Thank you for all that you do, Caleb! Your talents and skills are valuable

“Were you told to subscribe to lies” and “bring a tithe to the altar of success” both hit so hard. I want to believe what people put forth but I can’t. So many do horrible things behind closed doors. And, I’ve tried to hard to get I to content creation. But every time I feel fake because I’m following others’ plan to success
I don't have any clever meme or roast for this comment. I'm just so proud of this song and glad I got to co-write & produce it 😍

That is how the world these days work and youtube is just becoming more like a business where creators are employees with quotas to reach. The freedom to create and explore different topics slowly fading in the stream lined ideology. This song holds very good message wish more people saw it.
This is actually really relatable in a number of ways even if you aren’t a content creator because we are expected to never have flaws a lot (at least that’s how I see a lot of the millennial generation ) we are always on a tightrope told what to do and not to do to keeps our jobs, to prevent people from using things against us or even if we present ourselves a certain way. One picture or post from Facebook Twitter tumblr wherever that can be taken out of context and you’re in kangaroo court when your friends are now claiming that you were fake terrible or manipulative. How one wrong word makes it seem like you were mocking a group when it reality it was sarcasm meant to show how terrible something actually is, you are never allowed to be anything but the picture perfect version of what others want of you and it sucks. You are always pressured and about to break not knowing if something you do will be a success or a tremendously huge failure just because of one misstep, sorry I’m getting all rambler. I’m glad I finally got a chance to listen to this in detail. And I can’t think of any lyrics right now but I’d say this is up with LA Devotee in terms of the message of how in your case social media and in Panic! case Hollywood like Celebrity Status can effect people (there are other songs too and I have too short term of a memory to remember song lyrics from other songs let alone yours to pick out what I liked the most. Again sorry that I ramble) great job Caleb!
This song is so freaking powerful!!! Caleb you are an incredible and far more than numbers on a screen. All you are and all you want and will become are real, true and powerful! Never forget your worth, never be what others think you are because in the end all are equal in the eye of the maker. Whether our time is limited or extended, the way we are going as a race is towards nothing but destruction. Kindness, understanding and mercy are the only way we can truly have a future. To any who read this I hope you are able to see that all you are is worth more than anything material can devise. You are of infinite value, never let the world determine who you are. You are able to be whatever you wish.
This is just... So you, y'know? I always feel like you put so much of yourself into your covers and songs, but this time is pure Caleb. Hope you're doing alright on the other side of the screen! Also, looooove the early 2000's vibe
I really appreciate this song of your. There's a message here, one that isn't seen enough. Your ability to take that concept and put it in your own song, in your own words, in your own style, your ability to capture this is absolutely beyond incredible. Thank you for this, it's amazing!
One day, some new musician will be covering this, unaware that you used to cover songs. They will "Idolize," you.

I work in graphic design in an industry that has recently been crippled by the introduction of all the various AI art generators (Midjourney, etc). People are idolizing the AI art because it is free, and beautiful, and they are abandoning human-made art for this stuff that's spit out by a computer. So for many reasons, this song really hits home. I've spent years learning, building a career, just to watch not only mine, but my friends' as well, fade away as people go nuts over art that requires nothing more of them than entering a few keywords.

So sad to read this, i am just a hobby artist, using traditional items to draw. I never was a fan of digital art by all means but this AI sucks. I do hope it is just a phase, like so many hypes, that will go over. I pray for you and your friends, please keep going, there is still many people who prefer real artistry.
This song is incredibly good! It was definitely worth the wait.
Holy crap I watched this song getting made on twitch like forever ago, I'm jacked that it's come out!!! What an incredible song caleb and great work to johnathon and everyone else who helped work on it
I think my favourite and most relatable is where you sing maybe one day we will be reborn or this humanity's final form
An absolute banger with a much-needed message! Amazing as always, Caleb!!💙🤘🏼🔥
Always love your music incredible as always
[Lyrics] Caleb Hyles - Idolize [Verse] Were you told what is real and beautiful? Were you told to subscribe to lies? Do you feel like you're lost? Delusional? All your time is monetized Get the camera to capture all your tears There's a currency in your cries They are listening close to all your fears Your emotions weaponized I can see it in your eyes! [Refrain] You and i are more than numbers on - the - screen to analyze - Just close your eyes Are you searching for a window into me to idolize? ... Idolize [Verse] Bring a tithe to the altar of success you will not be demonized The adrenaline coursing through my chest in a virtual paradise Is there anywhere left where i can rest? Is there ever a private life? I'm expected to show you all my best and it's leaving me paralyzed [Refrain] You and i are more than numbers on - the - screen to analyze ... Analyze Are you searching for a window into me to idolize? ... Idolize [Bridge] Maybe one day we will be reborn, or is this humanity's final form? Into the mirror we are tired and worn Must i fight for more? [Refrain] You and i are more than numbers on - the - screen to analyze - Just close your eyes Are you searching for a window into me to idolize? ... Idolize -------------------------------------------------- ... i know it is a lyric-video, but maybe this is a bit more readable for some. Atleast it helped me for a little bit of karaoke. I really like this song, it reminds me of older Starset. Hope to hear more original Songs!
The little voice break at 1:30 gave me MASSIVE chills. Beautiful song Caleb, much love and blessings from NZ
YES! More, please. I mean, I like the covers, sure, but I love when y'all pour your hearts into the originals too.
Honestly I've followed you as a lurker for 8 years, ever since your "This Day Aria" MLP cover video. It's been amazing to see you grow into a fully realized artist, and hearing your vocals develop and grow better and better has been a pleasure. This song is incredibly raw and you can feel a lot of anger and pain in it but also a touch of hope
ANOTHER ORIGINAL!!! very catchy and impactful, well done!
Chills less than a minute in. This is incredible. Reminds me of growing up listening to Skillet and Three Days Grace.
Any time I see the name Jonathan young or Caleb hyles next to the words "original song" I get super pumped. May have found them from their covers, but I stayed for their originals
holy SHIT DUDE. fucking BEAUTIFUL! the line "are you searching for a window into me" is probably my favourite, it's so fucking good
I just listened to this song and i absolutely love it I'm emo and I listen to all sorts of stuff of emo music and when i saw this on tik tok i just had to listen to it I love this song so much and I cant wait to see what other kind of songs I can find on KZread!!😁😁
"Must I fight for more?" Dang. The weariness and the frustration of such a deceptively simple question got to me.
I love this song, amazing work on your original work as always Caleb! I've said this once and I'll say it again, people need to give your original music more of a chance. You're an amazing artist who has gone unnoticed for way too long.
I think I've listened to this four or five times now, and despite the lyrics in the video I find myself hearing, "Are searching for a window into me to idolize, Idle Eyes?"
"we are more then numbers on a screen" and "are you reaching for a window into me, to Idolize?" these lyrics hit hard and in a good way, and "are you reaching for a window into me, to Idolize?" reminds me of how I was growing up I idolized youtubers willynilly and didn't make the connect the dots of "hey, kid, these are people too" I was doing the same thing people did with celebrities when I was younger with youtubers, but as I got older, and saw many youtubers that I used to like outed for doing some...terrible things to say the least, and sure I may look up to youtubers still but I no longer put them on this metaphorical pedestal that they are this perfect human being, they are human, small mistakes, emotions other then happy, and many other examples exist that prove that, they are just people doing what they love. "we are more then numbers on a screen" hit hard as well cus of how social media treats us nowadays when it comes to ads and such, asking about "hey, we are gonna do personalized ads and such, agree?" and most blindly hit agree, even without hitting that button though, you still feel advertisers (except for some more indie sites like new grounds or tumblr), watch you, try to piece together everything you do and what sites you go to, which can make it feel hard to disconnect from reality calmly when ads try to force you back to it. continue making bangers dude. glad to see you doing more original stuff
Simplemente bueniiiisimo,q fuerza ,q voz!!!!Larga vida a el rock y sus subgéneros!!!🤘💪🏻🤘
"Is there anywhere left where I can rest? Is there ever a private life? I'm expected to show you all my best and it's leaving me paralyzed" damnnn

Im not into the metal genre but you and Jonathan Young's awesome music skills made my inner rockstar, that I didnt know exist, pop out HAHAHA- After a year or 3 I started scouring for music again and I found this song, PERFECTION.
This song is fantastic!!!!!!!!! Your performance is stunning and I love the guitar chord progression.

Keep up the awesome work bud. Been here for a long time.
The three days grace influence runs through your veins and I love it
Caleb's originals are always great!
Holy crap! I love this! When your album In One Breath first dropped and you uploaded the entire playlist to your channel, I made sure to listen to each one each day. I held myself to making sure I didn't advance to the next song in the order of succession until the very next day, despite how tempting it was. It took 11 days in total, since how I had skipped over Goodbye Monday considering how I had already listened to it the day it was released as a teaser. Each and every song on that album I ended up saving to my main playlist on Spotify once I could, and even to this day - despite how often I delete songs from said playlist - all 12 of those songs remain. You can be sure that this song, and likely any others will be added as well; though only time will tell if they stay like In One Breath did. (Between you and me and literally everyone else, however, I don't doubt they will.)

This song is so powerful and so true. It's making me feel what I've been feeling. Such an amazing song, please keep it up!
So much power in not only your amazing vocals but also the cutting lyrics. No preamble needed, we all know the emotions you’re singing about. Gosh I love when a song is actually relatable to relevant subjects in everyday life. I can only listen to so much materialistic ideals and love songs. Kudos Caleb, as always!

This is absolutely fantastic! You always do amazing work but this is on another level 💖
Wow. Amazing song... As a fan, I feel uncomfortable to think this is the pressure we put on creators. I hope you are free to create the art that makes you vibe so we can vibe to it, free to enjoy yourself and be proud of your work. Keep making amazing music apart from likes and fans projections. Your music is very cathartic and insightful.
This is a great song! I'm going to be putting this on my "KZreadrs making passive aggressive songs about KZread draining their will to live and/or sucking" playlist, it's not a very long playlist(I think this will be song 5), but I listen to it from time to time whenever I get to caught up in corporate hype in general and remember how much work being a content creator takes out of people.
Soooo good! Thx Caleb for this amazing piece of art! 🤗🎉 loop mode on for sure!!!
Loved it. So much energy in your voice. Congratulations!!!!!
OMG ! The lyrics is 🔥🔥🔥
Everytime I see a new Original song from you (or any creator for that matter) I go through the exact same motions: "OH so and so made an original song...ehh, it's not *[insert song here]* so I'll watch it later" *Later* "WHY DID I SLEEP ON THIS SONG FOR SO LONG!!!" So, today I decided to change that; I...still listened to this song later, but more so because of time than my usual reason; Eitherway, I am glad I decided to actually listen to this song when I did. It is amazing and it hits hard with me and how I feel about content creators, thier viewers, and youtube as a whole. Great job.
I'm so happy to see you making your own music, you genuinely have the voice and music style to make it big. This is genuinely some of the best music I've heard in a hot fucking minute and it's reminiscent of Starset's music while still being it's own original, new vibe. It's so good I can't even begin to explain how much I enjoyed hearing this original piece from you. Hope to see more originals soon!! Keep up the good work.
I was completely blown away by this, fantastic work Caleb!

This was PHENOMENAL! I feel like I’ve been hearing a lot to just make what makes me happy, and ignore the algorithm. And this goes right along with that. ❤🤘
Songwriting has improved; poignant, of the times, if a little reliant on a single rhyme. Singing on point (as if there would be any question), as is the musicality surrounding it; Hyles and Young have never struggled to put together sonorous, full-bodied sound and solid rock licks. A solid sophomore effort and a head-banging good time. Rock on, boys!
This song is making my hair stand like constantly it's getting uncomfortable lmao. Amazing

This is such a powerful yet vulnerable song. Probably one of my favorites that you’ve ever done. This deserves so much love and so do you ❤️
First off, LOVE LOVE LOVE THE SONG. Though in an odd way, it feels like when you miss a step on the stairs. My formative teen years was listening to alt rock, alt metal and emo (Three Days Grace, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park etc etc etc) and this really reminds me stylistically of that. It's so familiar but it's also weird for the inherent theme of the genre of "christ but sometimes don't we all just hate ourselves and feel like we don't belong, and at least we're in pain together and aren't alone" to be transposed a step to the left into being alone on social media
