The thumbnail picture will always haunt me. Eyes so of life, now snuffed out…. It’s alien and unnerving but also a heartbreaking scene in general. This dark version of the opening is fitting for Aqua specifically. For the lengths he’s is willing to go for his mother.

Idol is definitely one of the best anime openings I've ever heard. I feel like the original song already fit the vibe of Oshi no Ko by deceiving you into thinking it's all cheery when in reality it has a dark meaning BUT this arrangement was still a very interesting take (as always). Thank you Mr. Deuss this was a great listen.

it already fits the vibe of the show, the whole thing of the song is (if you watch the music video on youtube) ai was always covered by lies, which is what the bunny suit shes wearing represents, we see ai through the perspective of her fans, her peers, her stalkers, her children, and her. and in the end, shes finally able to drop that last bit of lies she was still holding onto (the bunny hat she was holding) and hug both aqua and ruby and tell them for the first, the final, and only time: “i love you”

The original song would have been a great intro for the 1st episode, and this would have the perfect ending.

*Spoiler* The crazy thing is that Ai has always loved Aqua and Ruby. Ironically, she died because she heard her children take an interest in their father and wanted to make them happy. Even when she was stabbed and her life flashed before her eyes, and flashed since the birth of her children. This means that it was then that her life really began for her. Even when she saw her children on her show and smiled, fans implied how sincere and "out of the ordinary" that smile was. It's so crazy to see everything come full circle. Such a sad story for Ai, she really deserved better, it turned out unfairly.. I hope that this comment will make many people think.

(or are ok with some spoilers) Yeah so... he has a long history of doing that to other people (women he sleeps with), not only AI, aqua and ruby have many people that classify as "half brother/sister". His name has been revealed so these last arcs have been getting better and better. He also seem to be quite good at manipulation, specially when regarding information. I mean we haven't reach his reasons but child support gotta be hella EXPENSIVE in Japan for the guy to be doing that

Yeah the normal opening fits because it’s a dark song disguised as a fun one like hey ya and pumped up kicks. It also fits the show because it’s a show exploring the dark side of the entertainment industry. Plus the song shows AI’s personality, spoils the dad’s motivations and introduces Aqua and Ruby who have to deal with the results of both parents lies and actions.

that's jus how a lot of ops are tho, that's what i like about anime ops, they can hide the dark motives so well (mostly cuz i don't understand full on japanese XD). This song is more about Ai's troubles in the industry. What I like is tht the ending part of the lyrics can a nice resolution for her "loving" problem :)

Although the normal one fits the vibe of this show, this one also fits because in the music video we are shown both the idol Ai and the true Ai. Idol Ai being the bright version and the true Ai being the dark, muted version. While the original one focuses more on the idol Ai, this one focuses more on the true Ai.

the normal version fits the anime extremely well, as it lays out the contrast between the happy idol and the stuff that happens in the background, it doesn't really get to shine in the anime tho, because it was cut down so that the OP isn't ages long.
