Idiots kidnap The Breakfast Club | So Bad It's Good

We love finding movies like this. The movie starts with a 45 minute car chase. Then it turns into a crappy version of The Breakfast Club. And then things go completely off the rails.

What was he even doing? Did he even know the gunmen were in there and somehow that was a failed plan to thwart them or does he just normally wander the halls and burst through doors playing blues traveler harmonica solos? Neither option is a satisfactory answer! Dammit we need a whole other movie from Gus point of view!

As one of the providers of the film and a high school student in Kokomo when they filmed this.... 1) Kokomo natives see this more as a comedy than anything else. 2) During the downtown chase when Brian asks, "Is that the school?" That's the Howard County Courthouse which wa b*mbed about a year after filming. 3) The junkyard was an old steel mill that was scheduled for demolition. The movie people decorated it like a junkyard. 4) The school was my old elementary school, Ervin Elementary, which was scheduled for demolition. 5) No one has ever understood the short bus. I also think no one has ever enjoyed its absurdity more than Brian. Great episode, guys! Keep it up!

It hurts a little that you didn't recognize Connors. He was the Man! Fun Fact: The Rifleman was one of the few American shows allowed in the USSR because it was leader Brezhnev's favorite show. They met in the early 70's through President Nixon (Connors was a very active Republican and was close friends with Reagan) and Brezhnev actually jumped into Connors's arms as a joke. Connors later gifted Brezhnev a pair of Colt revolvers. Fun Fact 2: In the early 90s Connors met and hung out with artist Graham Nolan, co-creator of Batman villain Bane, at a Comic convention. They got along really well because Nolan is also a Republican and Chuck was getting crap from people for being a conservative. Nolan was able to get his Winchester rifle into the convention center because it wasn't loaded (times have changed, but it was odd even then) and had it signed by Connors, who was shocked because he had only signed toys before. Chuck was known for using a Winchester in the Rifleman that had a big looped lever action that he would cock one-handed by dropping it down and flipping it back up. Arnold in T2 used a Winchester lever-action shotgun with the same type of loop as an homage.

😂 Gus got what was coming to him. Starteling people with his harmonica. That shot of him bursting through the door blowing that tune and him immediately getting shot caused me to spit out my coffee. If I were to have a harmonica in my mouth, it would have been a death tune like Gus 😂

I recognized Chuck Connors but didn't specifically remember his films. Turns out he was also a baseball player and is 1 of 13 athletes to have played in both Major League Baseballs and the National Basketball Association. He is supposedly best known for a 5 year role as Lucas McCain in ABC's 'The Rifleman' (which makes me think of DeCaprio's character in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood - Bounty Law).

Did the script call for a nuclear plant, but they never found a location to film in. So they just extended the chase scene to fill the time. Chuck: Ok, let's get on with the next scene Director: Get back in that car Chuck! We need a lot more chase footage! Chuck: Fine! You want me back in the car?! I won't leave it for the rest of the movie! Thus, movie gold is made.

I love a movie that makes Invasion USA look grounded and realistic. Maybe there is a deleted scene somewhere that talks about the great Indiana bullet shortage of the 1980s or that all the police officers got smallpox and had to be replaced by whoever was in the lobby of the unemployment office at the time. I'm going to start working on my pitch for a Chuck Connors Driving Simulator game.
