So sick of hearing about 0.0005% of the total population. How about some economic justice, not identity politics.

Totally agree here, we should be talking about the 0.0005% of the world population that owns everything - the handful of families that control all the businesses. If you just had the slightest idea what the world is all about, you wouldn't be focusing on Transexuals and transvestites. You would be focusing on these multi-billionaires that have us all fighting each other, while they get to literally live in another planet, one where they would never spend a minute discussing this matter. But since it is in their interest to keep us all distracted; fearing and fighting each other, they have the layers beneath them of also ultra rich people, putting out there all this information about all the people that we should be hating - instead of them. But again, 99.99% of the human population is too stupid realize what this and all the other stuff is all about. There is a kid here on KZread that has been running a channel called "Second Thought." This kid figured out at a very early age what this is all about and has posted about this on YT, garnering him a visit from the FBI to try to silence him by intimidation. But he is still running his mouth - and very successfully at that. I encourage everyone to make a small stopover at his channel.

There are kids who truly know they are more feminine or masculine at an early age, so much so that their outer physical appearance can cause conflict within themselves because what they see in the mirror doesn't match with their most dominant gene. Then there are kids who don't feel they fit in with regs or misfits and will try to form bonds with kids who are trans because the one who feels they don't fit in but are not trans, can relate to not fitting in or feeling alone, and I think this is where most adults say a child is being groomed or need treatment for mental illness. However there are those who look at this as a situation where predators will use being trans, as a way to gain easy access to another teen or child. Is there truth in all of this, yes. Are there cases of kids who transition back because the changes were more than they expected, being seen the way they felt became too much, etc., yes. Things like this happen with most things in life. We dream of visions as to what kind of house we want, what we want to be when we grow up, what kind of car we want to drive, learn the likes and dislikes of traits and qualities in people, and so on. Dreaming of what something may be like and actually getting to experience it is a whole different ball game in itself. Two ppl can endure the same thing but their experience may differ from one another. This is why it is soooo very important for basic safety guidelines to be put in place, and for society to realize saying yes doesn't mean we are not for protecting life, the quality of life or, other children from actual predators. Saying yes can sometimes mean we are open minded enough to realize that never every single person is the same and may need different medical needs and therapy than what we may need for ourselves, and also allows for these individuals to have the same freedoms and access as we do. That's the bottom line. I'm not trans but have been through so much that I probably wouldn't have had to experience, had certain policies and or, laws been but in place. Not only did I have to endure these horrible experiences, but it impacted my children so much that when they grew up and became a mom themselves, seeing what I went through weighs heavily on the decisions they have made as a new mom. Some of these decisions came back to bite them and ultimately resulted in them having to endure the same experience I did, 17 years ago. There's no getting around these policies or laws for most ppl, even if they were to pack up and move. I support medical help for all individuals, rather my decisions for myself may differ due to my own personal feelings or beliefs.

We used to play dress up when I was a kid. There was a trunk full of costumes, old suit coats, and dresses. Us boys used to dress up in dresses. We would occasionally play with our sister’s Barbies. Parents nowadays would look at kids doing this and say “wow, maybe my kid is transgender” and start then down that path. Because the child loves and listens to their parent, of course they are going to listen to their parent. Parents are failing children and we are causing our already very confused children to be even more confused.

I'm 53 and I've known I was trans since 1975. Of course I didn't have the language to tell anyone so I stayed hidden and SEVERELY crippled until I was 27. This isn't a trend. It's a real condition we've found in most cultures for the past 6,000 years. We've been successfully treating children since 1997. Isn't it amazing that it's only NOW a problem right when political debate is heating up? The "trans trend" is based on Lisa Littman's fraud study. Parents on 4 transphobic websites were asked about ROGD... 0 trans people were interviewed. 0 children were interviewed. And from that Lisa concluded there's a transgender trend. Look at the statistics. Between 0.4% and 2% show real regret. How is that possible if most treated children are not transgender? Common sense requires a common frame of reference. If you don't understand transgender medicine and have no experience then you don't have that common frame of reference.

I wanted to say this: Society taught me to hate myself for being gay when I lived in a Latin-American country. It was extremely difficult for me to accept that I was gay back in the 90's. Then I moved to the United States and came out. I started being ok with myself. But then, over time, I realized also that society also taught me to hate others. When I immersed myself, even within the gay community while living in a European country, I observed that I also was being taught to hate people that didn't conform to the gay standards of that local tribe. That included, as a matter of fact, people not dressed nicely, as some gays completely are fixated on how others dress. Then I immersed myself into a sector of the gay community that hated overly effeminate other gays. All of this was surreal to tell you the truth. Eventually, I had to acknowledge to myself also my own lack of understanding and acceptance towards other groups. I also had to acknowledge my racial bias within myself against gay blacks and Asians, never wanting to engage with them because "they were not my type." It's amazing all the programming that exists out there. I had a phobia against ever having sex with these groups, but I didn't know why. I also never understood bisexual people. I called them confused. All of these external ideas that float around, I realized eventually, are just imaginary and created by those who fear and like to spread fear and hate. And believe me, gay people themselves are also not immune to being discriminative. Over time I overcame absolutely everything, or so I thought. Over time, I've disconnected myself from any and every group, even the gay community itself, so I have not paid attention to any of this mainstream outrage going on for years. Now that I've tuned in again to what is going on, in seeing all this backlash against the LGBTQ+ community, I've come to also become aware of this TRANS trend. Of course, my first reaction to Trans people is similar to that of straight people. What do you mean you don't identify with what you were born with? But again, it showed me my own bias against people that are not like me - which is just a programming floating around. After paying attention to this, I realize once again, that things are just the way they are. Things are not as simple as they seem. I cannot just turn off my attraction to other men. So, I absolutely understand that things can be much more complex with other people, who truly feel like they are in the wrong body. They also just cannot turn that off, as much as others (who deem themselves normal) want us/them to. Thank you for this report. It give me a better understanding of these people.

It truly is amazing isn't it? that even among severely discriminated groups in society, they themselves will find others to find fault with & be prejudiced about. I have the attitude, that as long as someone is living their authentic truth & aren't harming me or anyone i know of, then just leave them be, to enjoy & live their best lives possible. Life is hard enough in so many other ways, ey! Your story was very enlightening. Thanks for sharing!!

Its just that since they couldn't talk about their sexuality or gender identities, nobody would really even know why, such was their shame. They would think, oh, they were such a loner, or they never married so they must have been really lonely, etc. When all along, these people were rather suffering in silence, with noone to even confide, until they just couldn't take it any more! Society is just so cruel.

The vast majority of news coverage on this subject has consisted of opposing views of social or political groups. This piece stated that the American Medical Association approves gender affirming care for minors. This is the first time I've heard anything about the opinions of recognized medical originations. Please provide more information on the subject of gender affirming care for minors from medical and mental health care professionals. Those opposing these treatments make it sound like groups of drag queens in clown cars are pressuring kids to change their gender then "mutilating" these kid with a rusty razor. Some fringe LGBTQ groups take great offense to the notion that kid seeking gender affirming care need counseling before they receive further treatment. It's time to hear from medical & mental health care professionals and groups. Let these people demystify the process and educate all of us without bias

This isn't a conflict of opinions. It's politics promoting lies over medical truth. But there are so many lies people don't know what to believe. *Truth:* We've been successfully treating children with gender dysphoria since 1997. We've been successfully treating adults with gender dysphoria since the 1950s. (1932 if you look at Germany.) Isn't it odd that trans children were never a problem until 2016 and again in 2020... during highly debated elections. Here are a few medical organizations that support gender affirming care: American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry American Academy of Dermatology American Academy of Family Physicians American Academy of Nursing American Academy of Pediatrics American Academy of Physician Assistants American College Health Association American College of Nurse-Midwives American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists American College of Physicians American Counseling Association American Heart Association American Medical Association American Medical Student Association American Nurses Association American Osteopathic Association American Psychiatric Association American Psychological Association American Public Health Association American Society of Plastic Surgeons Endocrine Society Federation of Pediatric Organizations GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health National Association of Social Workers National Commission on Correctional Health Care Pediatric Endocrine Society Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine World Medical Association World Professional Association for Transgender Health

@readingthingsandtalking No, I don't want anyone's propaganda. I want facts. Like those in published peer-reviewed literature. One side calls it mutilation, and the other gets mad when someone says these kids need counseling before any treatment can start. I was an OR tech in the NRMC San Diego Plastic Surgery department. Our doctors required counseling before performing any procedure. They wanted to make sure the patient's motivations and expectations were reasonable. When you skip the counseling, you get botched plastic surgery nightmares. As far as minors who want to transition, I have no idea what the right answer is. If your femur is sticking out of your leg, I'm your guy. I'm not a Psychiatrist, Pediatrician,or Endocrinologist. And to your point we need to hear from a wide range of doctors in these fields, not just a handful of doctors on a talk sho.
