440x2 my favorite one.
This guy knows his stuff. I had the original Tyco & Afx 1970-74. Silicone slicks and black rubber sponge slicks.
That is a very helpful explanation of the different Tyco chassis. Thank you.
Very informative. I remember having the Tyco Pro 1st gen and it just blew Aurora and AFX out of the water. Aurora was weak to begin with. But at the time, they were the baddest HO's on the block. I'm serious....LOL!
Thanks for posting. I'm a huge Tyco fan. I have over 200 cars now and most of them are Tyco. I have 3 Tyco Pro cars one is Gen 1 the 2 others and Gen two the rest are a mix of HP2's and a few variations of HP7's as well as. I also have a number of different AFX, Auto world and a few others including slotless Lionel cars. I love the hobby. I subscribed a long time ago and love what you do. Keep it up.

Another great video!! Yup that's all I ran many years ago was the 440x2 and I still have them along with all the 'hop-ups' !!! Thankx again!!!!
Just came across your channel. pretty cool stuff. I used to race in leagues as a kid at a local shop with multiple tracks. unfortunately its now closed. I ran a very hopped up Tyco 440 chassis with a Lexan F40 body. It has a hot green wire motor and some really strong magnets. My dad built a custom independent front axle too. with the sticky silicone tires it stuck like glue!
With the 440 X 2 I can modify many cars with the Hot Wheels & Match box metal body✨👍🏻

You Couldn't Do that ! So Easy ! With the HP 2 CARS !
After 440x2 there were the x3. They dropped the 440 from the name. Rare but they are out there.

I have a 4 lane track with X3 cars at my parents. I just started thinking to refurbish the cars and try if they still work!
The very first pro car was the black pan with drop arm design, had washer type round weights ,the flag had a thin shaft that was normally melted above the small plastic bushing during final assb of flag to drop arm...to me that is gen 1, gen 2 starts with brass pan, fixed snap in flag holder as part of the brass pan, then a weight. copper leaf pickups, then came the buttons.
You also need U-Turn chassis too.
Great video!
Cool I actually have the tyco 440 mag,440x2 and the hp7 chassis I have mine just as a hobby I got a stock car 500 tyco track set for my birthday when I was 12, I just recently decided to buy a auto world thunderjet ultra g car for two reasons one I have not messed with the track set in probably 10 years it's in the box under my bed,so I want to make sure it still works fine and fix it if it doesn't. And the hp7 is missing the rear axle and gear, Tyco 440 mag everything but the chassis frame and Camaro bodies are gone, and the two 440x2 cars are both missing the pickup shoes rear tires, and the guide pins, which except for a few times ran and it coming off the track and breaking the rear fender the 40 Ford California classic black flames Ford coupe was a new slot car but I had lived somewhere else other than at home so someone borrowed several things of mine including 65 percent of my automotive tools so I've had to replace a bunch, and before I hunt all the tyco stuff I'm going to need and I kinda want to get atleast one other 440x2 and Tyco 440 mag chassis I bought the perfect test car in my opinion because I like the version of the Christine car, but I am guessing I will need to change the guide pin to the metal to use on the tyco stock car track set?!
God bless.
I came across a weird mixed looking chassis that is a tyco made in HongKong Looks like a hp7 has similar to hp2 pickup shoes but they are longer with a dimple in the shoe. And no traction magnet. Also uses a 440 rear axel. It is on the state highway patrol mustang with working lights and siren. I wonder what that model is considered?
And all 4 of the stock tires are missing from the stock car that came with the track set and the California classic 40 Ford coupe.
I have a question about Hp2 Grey with the one open I need springs for the pick up o would really appreciate your help thank you
Could you please tell me the difference between the 1.5 & the 1.7 chassis because obviously the bodies are not going to fit either interchangeably. I’ve seen bodies for sale but there is no description as to which one fits which. And is Magnum just a part of the name of the 440 X2? Or is there a different kind that is not just the narrow chassis and the wide pan?
difference between hp7 and 440 x2 i s night and day. have to tune the hp7 some, but they are never gonna run so smooth and fast like the 440
I need cars I have the cliff hanger track
What is the magnum x3 car ?
