One thing though, the Arene is that considered a benzene ring I would think no, and or is it a cyclohexane then? never learnt this arene, or is that because there is more then one double carbon, however we would still use cyclohexane and just lable 1, 3 ect

8 normally, but atoms in period 3 and higher can have expanded octets, and certain compounds such as Boron can have an incomplete octet

Arene rings follow Hückel's rule which is the formula 4n+2= must equal a whole number of electrons at sp2 hybridization. Which is much simpler than it sounds. Essentially count the carbons that are attached to double bonds. In a ring of six carbons with three double bonds, we would have 4n+2=6 now subtract two from the six and you have 4n=4 and then divided each side by four to get n=1. Since this is a whole number a six carbon ring with 3 double bonds would be an arene. Every arene is an aromatic compound but every aromatic compound need not be an arene. Take an 8 carbon ring that has 4 double bonds. thus 8 sp2 hybridized carbons thus 4n+2=8 subtract two from each side we have 4n=6 then divide each side by 4 and we get n=6/4 which is not a whole number meaning an 8 carbon ring with 4 double bonds is not an arene. I hope that helps to make it a little more clear.
