    . That little rock in your shoe. . Having a flake of something in your eye, which doesn't wanna go away. . Driving behind someone who's going EXACTLY the speed limit and unable to pass 'em. . Having to go to the washroom, but all the stalls are occupied. . No ice in the ice tray. . Finding out, you DID leave the car windows open, only hours after it's been raining or snowing.

    I remember what my driving instructor taught me 14 years ago when I was getting my license (and luckily I also had a few snow days when learning to drive): - when it's snowing and the road is shit... Drive as if your brakes don't even exist. That way, you won't need them. Translation: use engine braking and slowly accelerate and decelerate while keeping ample room for all needed maneuvers. Worked well... Never had an issue with losing control of the car.

    I'm constantly amazed by how so many people think that it's a good idea to drive in misty, drizzly, overcast and snowy days without their headlights on. It doesn't hurt and only helps to make your car and the road more visible. It's just a good common sense thing to do.

  • @zsoltpapp3363

    @zsoltpapp3363

    I agree winter tires work a lot better if there is snow or rain, and the weather is cold. Here in Europe in many countries winter tires are mandatory. On flat ice though winter tires are just as useless as summer tires, you need spikes or chains. And for those who are cheap: there are 4 season tires on the market, not as good as the winter ones but still ok for winter conditions. Also i see many drivers jumps on the brakes when they start to spin, worse thing you can do.

Even still, the most advanced car technologies in the world still can’t defy physics. It doesn’t register in the mind of some drivers that their cars and CUV/SUV’s that the _faster_ they’re _moving_ in their 2-6 ton vehicles that four tires is all that’s contacting the road. *If those tires can’t effectively grip the road, nothing is going to stop it!*

    @@guywithjeep Both fof you guys hit the nail squarely on the head. The guys in PU's should have gone to the scales, checked the weight on the front and rear. Added extra weight on the rear to balance the vehicle weight and made damn sure they had the correct tires to drive in winter conditions. When I drive in the winter in the Sierras in Ca. I put my ass in line with the sander truck. We do not use salt here, ever. Studded tires are also illegal. Stay in line, never pass, unless you are in a rush to your coffin. I carry shovels and extra burlap bags.The speed limit in snowy and icy conditions on Interstate 80 is 25 MPH, accept that, seriously, or you have a huge fine to face by the CHP! You just may be pulled over and given a ride you don't want. A lot of out of staters get pissdoff about the chain control stations. You can't pass them with out chains on the driving tires.. The real reason is to make you slow down
