My mom was put in icu for 2 weeks, and they had her asleep the entire time. She had sever pneumonia and had a 5% chance of living, but she survived and she is better than ever now😁

My dad was in ICU in the last August. He was even in ICU Airborne room. Everytime I paid visit for him, I was sad and could not hold my tears. He touched my face as if he missed me so much. He touched my nose, my chin, and my cheek. I was crying then. I prayed to Allah to cure my dad. He is health, indeed. But he was in heaven now. Cannot wait to meeting him again.

I love the sound of the ventilator!!! Reminds me of the time I awoke from my coma. I was recovering from cancer surgery when my colon burst and I got sepsis, I almost died 3times. When I came to, I was on a ventilator and trachtube. The ventilator made rythmic sounds that were sedating, I would fall asleep. But the drs were popping in every time I wanted to nap!!! I was a hoot, surviving my first bout of cancer, sepsis and organ shutdown! I'm now fighting my 2nd round with cancer. I just love those ventilators!!!!!!

My dad and grandma were both in the ICU before they died. Dad had pneumonia. Grandmother had cancer. They died three years apart. It's hard for me to even be in a hospital sometimes. I took psychology this spring, and I realized as a premed that the fear of hospitals had to go. I talked to my teacher and he told me to do something called exposure therapy. So here I am...facing my past. It is incredibly difficult, but reading all of these comments is somehow helping.

@@nicky175 thanks. I actually was able to go back to the ICU floor my dad passed on for the first time in 12 years this May. It was one of the most emotional experiences of my life. These sounds come with reminders of pain and victory. I treated patients in ICU as an Occupational Therapist & witnessed miracles that I played a very small part in (imo it was God handling the miracle part ;)), but when my Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, the sounds I heard at MD Anderson reminded me of hope followed by loss, grief and sadness. With a lot of work on myself and healing the pain, listening to this is comforting in a way & brings back the unbelievable courage, strength and Faith so many of patients had. Going from bedridden on a ventilator to breathing on their own and walking out of the hospital! 💓

I'm an OT student! I thought I'd learn a bit about the different machines and alarm sounds before my fieldwork at an LTAC facility so that's how I ended up here. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, cancer is the worst. But it's so awesome how many patients you were able to help and make a difference in their lives!

You are a hero. It takes courage to work in the ICU (scariest part of the hospital). I was in a medically induced coma with severe pneumonia that turned into ARDS. I got off the ventilator after nearly 2 weeks and I'll never forget one of the doctors coming in and saying he wanted a pic with me because he and his staff didn't think I'd make it. The sedation and delirium still give me flashbacks. The Lord spared my life

@@oliviaperalta9720 Hi Olivia, Can we talk together about the icu experience ?
I will never forget these sounds I shared this with my son to see if he remembered it. He was in a coma for just under a month end of April he was on a ventilator then had to go on the ECMO as well they just let him back to work for half days. They saved his life bloody amazing the hospitals he was in an the staff an the machines. Amazing. He said he remembers these sounds an the ECMO. Everyone who's been in a coma I saw how hard it was an your all amazing for getting through ❤
Before I even turned a year old I was hospitalized and put in the ICU. Apparently after my C-section birth I still had fluid in my lungs and it caused me to get pneumonia. I was in the hospital 14 days before they let me go home. I was so little I don't remember anything, but my parents said that the beeps and noises in the room made me happy (once I regained consciousness, that is.)

I spent a month in the ICU - and these sounds became a song in my head - I'll never forget them. It's as clear as day to me.. And for anyone that thinks this is a joke - or that you "visited" an ICu for a hour - try a month. It becomes a song - and makes you slowly go crazy! Ha! Oh boy, yes.. I know the hospital well and I remember much.. Idk if I were in the ICU, but as I am disabled and have about 4 different chronic illnesses, I'm sure I was as a kid.. I remember the hospital sounds very well.. I'm often in a hospital but it really feels safe yk.. I'm happy to have them because I would've been dead long ago if they weren't there.. I remember when I had a bad pneumonia as a 4 year old back then that almost killed me, because of my bad asthma too, so that's what I remember too... I see the hospital still very often but I'm lucky to get help, well there's no treatment for my condition, but I get a bit pain relieve still and the help to live a better, painless life❤️😊
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL SOUND. The sounds of the ICU are so soothing, and Its the only place I can actually get any sleep. Because I'm aquanted to the ICU so much. I LOVE the ICU.

You know our language. I treat all my patients equally of course, but if family brings donuts then that patient is treated extra equally as far as morphine and such goes :p Happens in reverse too, hateful patient or rood family? Enjoy laying in your own poop for another 30 minutes, doesn't seem like it hurts that bad so we'll just treat it with tylenol, I'm worried about your neuro status so I will come in every hour and check pupil response to penlight(I work nights so this is especially good tricc). It's petty but when my feelings are hurt I think about it for days, I am a sensitive little girl over this kind of thing. I don't care how much it hurts. Don't call me mean or say I'm fat/ugly or that no one will ever love me. That's a good way to find out you need another 18 gauge IV or foley, and wups I'm really bad at IVs, probably going to take 5 or 6 tries XD

David Alejo I was in the NICU for 2 weeks and I’ve had 5 surgeries since then and yet here I am.
This video reminds my day in ICU. That machine sound never stops.
as a med student, my professor said you must keep calm in ICU. He saw too many patients passed when he was young, at the begining he was like others, cry, sad. He even thought about resigning.
That's the sound i woke up to when i was in ICU. Never wanna go there again.
Would never let the sound go on for this long without going to investigate and muting them for the 5 minute period, this is what is the most dangerous thing and what causes alarm fatigue with people who work in ICU/CCU you become oblivious to the sound if was going constantly like this
Thanks so much for doing this. I'm using it to train my therapy dog to be comfortable around hospital sounds. I play it on my computer while he's eating and playing; next step is to play it on my TV. If this works, he'll be ready to work at the hospital in a couple of months.
My great uncle is in ICU looks like he is not going to make it my predictions are he's not even going to make it to Christmas

Was able to call out of work saying family emergency with this playing in the background.
The beeps usually don't click this much at that frequency. Even if the alarm turns on, the nurse or the CNA comes into the room to examine the message and turn off the sound of the vitals machine. Haha, I'd see this noise as bothersome eventually if it stays like this... the only other noise like this is at the nurse's station, which is because all the room vital machines are hooked up to one main monitoring area in case an alarm goes off and a nurse can't hear it all the way in a room.

I think I can fall asleep to this sound but it haunts me because when I was 6 my dad got into a motercycle accident and died☹😢
Holy Cow!! So this is what I would’ve heard when I was in an 11 day coma!! 😲😲😲😲! I have no memory of it what’s at all! In April 2008, I was rushed into Brighton Sussex County, after suffering a major brain hemmorhage, they then made the decision to transfer me to the major trauma centre at Kings College in Brixton London, where I underwent, a 2 and a half hour op, was put on a breathing tube, ventilator. But my goodness am I glad to alive today! All thanks to a fantastic neurologist surgeon, Sanjeev Bassi. (Believe it or not, we actually have a little mini Shetland Pony named exactly after him!)
