I remember these sounds when I was in a coma, maybe it's weird, but the rhythmic sound of the ventilator calmed me down, before I fell into a coma, I could hardly breathe, hearing these sounds must have felt subconsciously safe

I had a dream i was comatose, after then I would hear these sounds everywhere and all the time. It was very calming to hear, glad to know I'm not singled out for liking this kind of atmosphere.

Thank you for this video. My mom was in the ICU and passed away yesterday. When she was on her ventilator it made a whistle sound when she breathed out. This video is as close as I could get to what her room sounded like. In a way it is comforting to hear the sounds.

I thought I was only one the sounds of ICU are comforting. I had Covid-19 12/10/2020. I heard this sound for 3 months

I just like the ambience of a hospital. When i was a kid i used to beg my mom to extend our time in the hospital😅

maybe we feel calm listening to this because we connect this sound to feeling safe again. I remember laying there just being relieved that I had survived, sleepy from painkillers and knowing that there are people around me who will help if something bad happens. idk

I agree, I also felt safe hearing the sound of the ventilator, I was semiconscious but alive

I don't know how anyone can find this soothing this is the sound of uncertainty uncertainty whether that person will live or or not this sound could easily turn into a code blue alarm

Thanks for the upload! I can’t afford to go to the ICU but now I can listen to this video and fantasise for up to an hour a day!

I had my first chemo treatment this morning, didn't sound like this, but when it was time to go, I told my nurse I wouldn't mind staying a few more hours. It was nice and relaxing lol!!

Hi Penelope, can we talk together about the icu experience?

This is all too familiar for me. And relaxing at that. I’ve been in the hospital for about 6 months now. Not to mention I have been in and out of the hospital constantly for my entire life due to an extremely rare incurable heart/lung condition, being born prematurely, kidney failure, portal hypertension (which is what I’m in the hospital for right now), growth hormone deficiency, and an enigmatic genetic disorder. My funny and kind doctors call me “a one of a kind mysterious guy”.

Wow. That’s rough. How are you lately?

I have PTSD from these sounds. I was awake in ICU during a Nurse Walkout in 10/10 Pain from a Spinal Injury with no assistance, no pain Relief or ice for 9 hours. You get so deleious that the machine beeps start talking to you.

this is weirdly comforting? i've always loved hospitals and everything about them. the smell, all the sterile tools, the sounds, even down to the icu entrance. i always beg my parents to either extend time if one of us are in the hospital or i beg them to let us stay longer if we're visiting. i don't really have an exact reason.

Im sad

I was in the hospital for a month and had to relearn how to walk but that month was the most safe I have ever felt

The noise you hear after one of your friends say “I’ll give you 50 bucks if you do it”

Y’all talking about your life changing hospital experiences, while I enjoy sleeping to this because I like to imagine I had a big fight with the sinister six, which I won, but ended up too harmed

oh the ptsd this gives me from my bad car wreck, had a spinal fusion and a femur fracture, along w some of my organs cut up cause i severed a major artery :,))) this doesn’t bring peace to me, but it puts things into a different perspective how others find it peaceful
