toad is op, amen for the new support

Day 1 of the new support: went undefeated at locals against, Resonator, branded, tenpai and another Resonator player. I know it's only 4 rounds but the new support is so free, just feels like you can push the opponents board and force handtraps a lot with the swap frog/ice barrier cards if they aren't just straight up summoning toad for free - ran triple angler and droplets to send them from hand as well as with the frogs. Felt so good bringing toad back with double cross + having herald online too 👌 Keen to see some of your locals replays soon !

Amazing to hear, bro! Actually feels so nice to have something new to add to the deck, even if it isn't direct Spright support! Keep it up :)

Teching in two gameiciel is great also, spot removal, discard fodder for swap and also you can add it back for next turn with toad post negate 🤔

Keen to summon the boi again 🐸 it just occurred to me that mirror mage is not the worst normal summon if you open it and don't have beaver/swap because it will trigger to search the spell when you detach it off gigantic 👌

Basically replaces itself at the cost of a brick, very true! Good call.

It may also be worthwhile to talk about Silhouette Magician. The generic Link-2 who sets a summonable trap from the deck. Easy way to add a quasi-Solemn Strike to the backrow for free then turn him into a Gigantic and set up even more interaction BTW in your combo, you can go Sprind first, make gigantic with the extra Beaver, summon blue, jet add Double cross, then overlay the 2 sprights into a Djinn buster. IMO its more efficient than running the Melffy bricks

What trap would you set off the magician? Sounds interesting ! There is an argument for the djinn line but herald is an omni and I believe is better overall especially when you don't have easy access to swap and you need to summon blue off gigantic, it's also going to be able to negate twice since you can bring it out again off double cross - the mini macro cosmos comes up too, definitely worth mentioning the djinn line though 🙏

I did see the Magician a while back when people were talking about it. Definitely could incorporate it into the deck as a mini package yet again. As for the Djinn Buster, sadly, I've just never been the biggest fan of it. The two dark requirements make it too conditional to use imo, especially because you're almost always going to want to make Sprind when you have the additional resources. Opening Beaver + Blue means that you can have a Gigantic, but if that doesn't go through, you'd want to link them off anyway. On the other hand, the Melffy package doesn't feel like a 2 card "brick" because Catty is a free special/can search follow-up, and it adds 2 interruptions (Herald and Forest) for the price of 1 brick (Pinny) and 2 ED Monsters.

During the combo that requires Beaver at 19:43 if you turn the the nimble into sprind dump angler you have a sprind with the toad negate

True, but you auto-lose to Nib or one handtrap, unless you open Carrot/Red. You can risk it if you don't open with any other cards, but if you have any other Spright, you can special them out after Gigantic to link into Sprind after. Hope that makes sense!

What do you think about including meowmine? I don’t think it’s necessary, but it seems like a decent addition to the deck. It’s an extender and an additional interruption.

I don't think Meowmine is good unless you plan on running I:P > S:P and you don't intend on running the Toad package. If you're running 3x Swaps, you have enough 2s in your deck. Rest probably needs to be non-engine.

The last thing to happen would have been the summon of Swap, so it won't miss timing. Chain blocks can still be chosen, because they're both optional effects. Reminder that you're probably thinking of the order of effect activations, which goes: triggers -> you have mandatory effects -> choose any optional effects.

I dont like the adventure package or melfys. Id rather play handtraps or fenrir and iblee to lock them out. With toad back in the mix this is gonna be a blast. Double cross is gonna be so broken. May run 2.

That's fair. I think most people (myself included) just liked the additional layer of interruptions from either engines, but Iblee locking certainly also is very strong.

As a HOPT though, I'm not too sure about running Double Cross at 2, especially because it's a brick going 2nd.
