It could be pointed out, all cars & trucks have transmissions, for the same reasons. My Greenspeed Anura has the Enviolo NuVinci 380, a CVT, without the 'automatic' feature (which is why I watched this). It also has the ENFEO GTRO (IGT) front chainring which gives it 3 chainrings, all without any derailleurs. I have to agree with garyseckel295 (below), about Delta's having advantages.
That best kept secret, Hase trike in the background, would actually serve more riders than any tadpole! Own both tadpoles and 4 Hase'. Two of them have Rohloff hub gearboxes and 2WD. Wheelchair/forearm canes on/off only on a delta planform. ' Two with Rohloff hubs and 2WD
What happens when your battery goes flat from using your motor, will the CVT stop working? Had a maxi scooter with CVT, after a while the CVT became jerky at low speed, is this an issue the trike CVT has?

The Shimano system usually reserves power for lights and electronic shifting when your battery gets low so that it will still shift gears.
