Ian Garry Full Documentary: The Future

On June 26th, young Irish MMA prospect Ian 'The Future' Garry fought for the Cage Warriors Welterweight World Championship. Undefeated, he would take on Jack Grant putting his 6-0 record on the line for a shot at the gold belt, and to catch the eye of the UFC.
This is the story of what it took to get to the fight.

If you’re here now, count yourself privileged to be one of the early ones to the act cos this is just the start and in 5 years time there’ll be millions watching videos about this man. I remember watching the documentary series on RTE years ago about McGregor before he ever became a household name. That then was the start of something unbelievably great that few anticipated was possible. With Ian Garry, we could be in for another crazy ride to global super stardom which will put the fighting Irish front and centre stage yet again!! Let’s fucking go!☘️☘️

Crazy how high level Ian is considering he’s only been training for 4 years. Jack Grant is an absolutely top tier grappler, he’s subbed numerous elite Cage Warriors alumni. Ian dominated every grappling exchange and didn’t even get touched on the feet until that knee in the 5th round. I think his wealth of amateur boxing experience gave him quite an edge when he transitioned into MMA , his understanding of lateral footwork and use of the jab is absolutely brilliant, Grant couldn’t even get near him. I can absolutely see him beating ufc caliber opponents right now, and he’s only 23, wait until he hits his prime years 28-32, he’ll be unstoppable🇮🇪🇮🇪

Seems like a genuinely nice guy, and from what I've seen so far, including his UFC debut, he's a real talent in the welterweight division. I saw an interview where he said he wants to build his resume, and not go for the gold too quickly, which shows he is self-aware enough to realise he needs to improve before he's ready to take the likes of Kamaru Usman on. He's only 24 years old, with a really bright future ahead of him, barring injury. I hope he goes on to do really well, and take the UFC Welterweight gold at some point.

That is most emotion this born and bred Dubliner has felt in years. When they put the strap around his waist and Futureman started choking up.. I'll be honest I nearly shed a tear too. Super super video. Well done to everyone who put this masterpiece together. Seems they are trying to stop Ian Garry's rise and I can understand why. If you can't beat the Dubliner in the ring then hobble his horse. Only Bruce and Joe R. realised what was happening and gave it top tier. The Americans must have taken the hiding Conor gave them worse than first thought and know they are in for the same from Ian Garry so they are trying to trip him up. Might also explain his gym betraying him Juda$ $tyle. Garry already has 'Bushingered' his first U.S. victim in the 1st round.

I must be going crazy?!? I watched this documentary a few years ago, and I clearly remember him having a young blonde girlfriend who was in a large portion of the footage, and now instead it has only a few clips of his current wife. Am I having a Mandela Effect or something? Or is this possibly re-edited with his old flame out? Just weird.

Still don’t see it, he might be great and be champion but it’s not like Mcgregor. When Conor showed up you could see something is different then the others. And he is. Just don’t see it in this guy.

Well done. I'll be rooting for Ian. But if his knee still isn't healed I hope he postpones his UFC debut. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Millions will be watching from all over the world.

Talented guy, but I can't see him making it past any of the top 15 in the UFC. The guy he just beat was 2-3 since 2019...

maybe not but he is alot younger than the majority and has alot more to improve dont forget he is training at the same gym as Gilbert Burns now so he will be able to work day in day out with one of the top 5 if not top 3 guys give the guy time he hasnt had many fights yet im sure we could of said the same about mcgregor when he entered the UFC at that time the featherweight division was stacked and aldo was unstoppable not saying he will go on to become champion or anything but give the guy time hard to judge someone so soon so quick

@@barrymckeown5783 hard to judge him so soon...but he's quick to publically hype himself as "the future of the sport". I just haven't seen anything to support that...his last two wins were both against guys who went 2-3 in their previous 5.
