I scored this demo kit off eBay and wanted to share a little about these actuators and how easy they are to setup and use.
This is a stepper driven actuator with encoder feedback making it a closed loop system. This unit has 100mm of travel. It can be programmed with up to 3 position set points without the use of an additional controller. With an add on controller it can have 16 position set points. These are used in automation and robotics.

@RoboCNCnl It's a 10mm c10 rolled ballscrew. I'm able to turn off power to the stepper so you can manually move the rod. Per the spects the repeatability is plus or minus 0.05mm and the backlash is 0.1mm or less. I haven't measured the actual yet.

Nice info... How is the drive done, since you are able to push position it...(rack and pinion?) Did you already do a measurement on backlash..?
