I`ve been using a sandbag for 5 years. I mostly like using it for outdoor training. It gives me plenty of alternatives to choose from. I`ve used it in 2 of my videos.

Done a similar sandbag workout with a advanced bodybuilder. Let’s say it was embarrassing. Functional strength over vanity all day long.

My gym made a project where they encouraged members to try others modalities. I'm a BJJ guy and I had a lot of fun watching bodybuilders, swimmers and triathlon guys losing their minds. The crossfit guys went OK. Function over aesthetic. Always.

This was extra crazy..because it was the end of a ton of other working out we had already done that day. He was not fresh when doing this. You could call this his finisher, but it's certainly hard enough to be a stand alone workout.

Awesome video, you're a fit dude! Definitely sold on the idea of sandbag training.

Just got it today big homie, I'm having a bit of trouble finding some affordable sand options though here in Sweden as it seems! I got the large sandbag that states it goes up to 220 lbs so yea I'm ready to bang out once I get the sand. I have plans to run my uphill sprints with it on my neck, along with many of the exercise you present here in the video!

You should!

As far as sandbags go, get two Dutch militairy bags, costs about 50 bucks or 25 pounds, fill one with sand and put it inside the other. Petty indestructible bag. Done a lot of training on sandbags ala my Channel.

Made my own 20kg bag today with an extra 10kg ready to add in when I'm stronger. Thanks for the exercises.

@Who Cares? Yes, that's quite a common thing. Guys that are very strong at certain lifts, or have bodybuilder physiques (or both) that get outclassed in combat sports, blue collar work, military training etc. Some people have all three (barbell lifts, physique and real-world functional ability) but they are rare (especially without PEDs).

Just finished the workout great one I got my sand bag last week and I’m in love with it. It transfers to the matt extremely well as I do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA would highly recommend for grappling athletes the most but can definitely be effective for strikers such as Muay Thai/Kickboxing

How do you feel about doing heavy sandbag zercher squats instead of barbell front squats? For the last few weeks I have cut out the barbell on everything except deadlifts and clean and presses (which I also do with sandbags) and I feel better. Maybe it is just the change. Wanted to get an expert opinion.

Sand bag Zerchers would be GREAT. You can also do two DBs held in Zercher position or Goblet squats with a kettlebell. The possibilities are endless. Sand bag training is amazing and highly recommended....super safe and super challenging. CC

This is what makes you Farmboy Strong. It's amazing the difference between doing barbell exercises in a nice neat path of motion and then doing sandbag training where you're jerking it all around. You WILL be sore and a lot tougher. Is that just a duffel bag or is it a special kind of training bag and what do you have in it?

They are fairly standard so no recommendation that is a stand out.

Made three bags of different weights out of sand and inner tubes.

I think that is a perfect headline. I was trying to figure out how I could stop you before you mauled me like a slam ball and pulled my arms off my body. I haven't figured that out yet. I was on Amazon comparing the bags they sell and came over here to see what to look for in a good bag. One bag had the handles rip off because they didn't go all the way around the bag. They just got sewn underneath the "X". If they had been wrap around straps then they would have been sewn on foursides of the X in a box instead of just on one side of the box.

O shit nice video. Exactly what I was looking for u know this dude real has tires and more bags. I got a water bag type of sandbag, do all these rules apply for water I just gotta start off lighyer

They come in various weights & there are many, many brands to choose from.

I'm right that this is one way to get really functionally strong? Since there is a Marine pretty much recommending it in the video etc. Been lifting a heavy bag that's around 75lbs made up of sand and cloth. It's pretty decent strength training, right?
