Singer and songwriter Don McLean joins Piers Morgan to discuss the 50-year anniversary of his smash hit American Pie and the importance of the track. They also discuss what America means to Don and how the country has changed over the years. Piers also brings up Don’s recent decision to not perform at a gun convention and why he decided to do so. Tyson Fury also sends a message to Don, sharing his love for the track American Pie and what it means to him (as someone who often celebrates and performs to the song). And at the very end of the interview, Don gives us an emotional and honest answer to one of his regrets in life.

His rhyming on American Pie was outstanding. No cliches. Totally original. Rhyming ' him with gym' ' perfume with tune' and ' ' Queen and Dean' to name a few.

I have heard this interview when it was 25 minutes long - would it be possible to hear it again ?
Discovering that Don McLean was an abusive husband and father really crushed me at a deep level, as it was (and still is) almost impossible for me to accept that a man who wrote such beautiful words could be a tyrant toward his family.

totally agree.....his lyrics and talent are so beautiful...though he can no longer sing really......that it is painful to be a fan after hearing about his abuse. I had contact with his wife, I believe her totally.

This is not normal you have so few views and subscribers. Im American & have watched you since 2017 on GMB destroying the likes of Monroe Bergdorf & the other brat who tweeked about your identifying as a penguin. So you're being censored obviously. I have narrowed down who my birth father is but the people involved won't take a DNA test even though they know their dad cheated repeatedly on their mother.
Mclean had so many more amazing songs apart from American Pie and Vincent!
how about " I wish I hadn't abused my wife and hurt my children" as opposed to regretting not knowing his father better.
Your talent is more than obvious….your abuse to/of others is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND UNFORGIVABLE!! Karma will get you!! But thank you for the music.
