No one can deny Chomsky's consistency in his hatred of the United States and Western civilization.

I'm 60. I saw Mr. Chomsky often at MIT when I worked there, and once randomly on the street in the early 90s. He was always pleasant as a customer at MIT. When I met him by chance on the street in the early 90s, we chatted for about 15 minutes. He is a kind man who had time for a blue collar slob like me.

Chomsky is intelligent but wrong he ideologically aligns with Anarcho-Syndicalism and Libritarian Socialism. Both center on a worker controlled economic system. This idea is fundamentally flawed and here's why maybe you work at Wal-Mart, maybe you work in a factory, maybe you work in warehouse, maybe you work in an office building, perhaps a hospital or a stadium. Well the workers didn't spent the millions of dollars it took to buy the property, clear the land, build the facility, stock the facility or maintain the facility BUT now that someone has done all that for them they just want to show up and own the place and rather than being greatful someone took a risk and invested hundreds of millions of dollars in creating a place that will provide you and many others the ability to work and provide for your family the view is because that person becomes wealthy from their investment ( that provides you the ability to feed your family) they're supposed to be the oppressor. Well worker man why didn't you build a factory? And of you did wouldn't you just turn it over to the workers ? Capitalism has pulled more people out of poverty than any other economic system in human history but I digress let's just look at Anarcho-Syndicalism that believes the role of the state is to protect private property while Libritarian Socialism doesn't recognize private property at all . So now you've created a system in which people are subjugated to laccepting the lowest common denominator .

Actually he wavers a lot in terms of intellectual honesty. He carries "big lie"-type political propaganda memes like global warming, AIDS & other pandemic narratives, the muslims-hijacked-airplanes story of 911, etc. A man of his intellect surely knows better. What's the point of reporting if there's no recourse?

Morgan set up a critical interview. Challenged Chomsky as a journalist. I see posts from people who criticize him for doing the job of a journalist. Perhaps the commentators are so engrossed in one-sided fluff pieces from CNN or the NYT, that they are no longer able to discern inquisitiveness. Great job by the interviewer and the interviewee. We all learned something here.

This is one of the most informative interviews I've come across.

whats most touched me in this interview is the expression to be written on his tombstone, ....'he's tried his best'. I guess, his best is the best.

Also, as stated by another listener, kudos for Morgan for giving this wonderful man the space to talk. There aren't too many Chomsky's out there, and I feel privileged to have seen this candid discussion (it's not a debate) between two people. One, I have been warded away from, by peer social/polical groups (that being Morgan) - yet, when enough allowance of space and respect is granted, like in this interview, I have to tip my hat to Mr Morgan. Very long story short, you should listen to all people, even those who are counter to your views, that's the only way we are going to find common ground.

I see that Piers actually respects Noam by not interrupting him.

Yes he may disagree with him on Ukraine but he deserved to be heard and not berated as so many just do. As the other top comment said, "hank you Piers for not interrupting such a knowledgeable person and allowing yourself and everyone watching to listen" I even hope Piers himself starts to see himself how nuanced this topic is - not just good vs evil as the MSM currently sell it.

He just doesn't want to argue. He disagrees violently with Chomsky on a number of things but is still interested to hear him out. If you watch the interview with Corbyn on the other hand isn't honest about what he believes which obviously creates ire...

A beautiful soul who has always radiated integrity. Kudos to Pierce Morgan for recognising he was in the presence of a greater mind, and for extending the common decency of listening and respect that an old man is due.

Piers' reaction to getting schooled with facts: "Let's move on to topics where my opinion might rather agree with facts...". Naturally...

Just an absolutely brilliant and fascinating interview. Piers asked a breadth of excellent questions and stepped back and allowed Noam to answer them.
