Congrats on such an awesome performance on a big stage! Lifetime PB under the Olympic standard a couple weeks after catching COVID - as an unattached athlete, too? Crazy. Can't wait to see what you decide to do on the track (and the road??? 😉) while you keep stringing together months of quality training.

To put thinks into perspective, Allie didn't just run a personal best (which is awesome), she crushed the Olympic standard. And Top 20 in the World is icing on the cake.

It's such a great endorsement of her last year of training. Also shows how absurdly strong the US women's steeple field is that a performance like that didn't have her in contention for the team. Really excited to see her string together many more months of injury-free training and see what she can do. I'd love to see her on the road with experience from the combo of mountain racing and fast track work.

I think it was great for Allie to finally admit that without you willing her over the hurdles, that just wouldn't happen! Huge Congrats to Allie for not only qualifying for the Olympic trials, but then making it to the finals and running a new PR in front of the world. I think t with really sharp hurdling/ and jumping technique, and per her video a little improvement on strategy, she might have been 9:15 ish. She has really improved her speed and strength and recent months with amazing training at altitude and doing long stretches of uphill, and my guess is that she will be on the next Olympic team. Also, you are such great support for Allie, which truly brings her happiness. Spencer, I think you are one of the few people who met the qualifying standard to date Allie; as I was thinking that her parents would only allow her to go out with a guy who can run a 5k under 15 minutes, and if it is the mile, that better not take more than 4 minutes! Wishing you both to continue with your amazing adventures and inspirational running.

Great Job Allie! I was in the stands for Thursday's final by the water jump second level and thought Allie ran a super smart race and was passing runners at the end. Spence, getting a little appreciation for what Keith has done watching you race all those years. It's tough being the watcher instead of the racer. Love your support for Allie!

Allie did so great! PR! Standard! But, even more fundamental, she worked up the field as the race went on and didn't give up! I know she's competitive and likely wishes she'd gotten top 3 for obvious reasons, but she did fantastic! Can't wait to see what Allie does next and what The Athlete Special chooses to do next!

I agree with you Spence !! I too am not "fan" of the Steeple ALTHOUGH the only time I watch is when Emma C. or Allie is competing. If I could have it my way as fan, for World Championships and Olympics, I would ditch the 10,000 and the Steeple. I would ADD Cross Country {to replace the Steeple and 10,000} and ADD a "regular" 3000 on the track, and last but not least, I would ADD a road 1/2 marathon. But I'm the "Rodney Dangerfield" of Track and Field as well as my other passion - Aviation.
