I Went To BRITISH Art Store with TWO FLOORS?!

In this video, I went to a two story British art store. This is my first time back in...a year lol
This was the biggest art / craft / hobby shop I've been in so far I think?! Anyway, some things were cheap, others expensive, but overall I really like Hobby Craft. I also went to The Range which was highly requested from so many people after my video last year!

the gouache set is an introduction TO THE PROFESSIONAL STUFF. It's definitely the really expensive one, but it's meant to be the set you buy at the start to get a good selection rather than needing to buy single tubes.

When we moved to FL from NYC I was in shock that every shop had bathrooms, and you didn't have to be a customer to use them. NYC was always hard to find a bathroom as either they were "customer only" or employee only. FL may be crap for so many things but bathrooms and actual helpful employees is something that is abundant, and appreciated.

If you think Hobbycraft prices are expensive you should see what the prices are like here in Australia, we have nothing like that shop here, and unless you shop at the $2 shops, which have limited ranges, you have to pay heaps more than anything in Hobbycraft. We do have online craft shops but the range is limited and expensive.

The Range can be hit and miss. They charge more for certain art products over others. I use oil paints and they charge way more than Hobby craft. But it depends on region and what discounts there are. I find the Works (live in the North) have these Canvas pads for £2-£3 with 8-10 sheets and they are amazing love using them. Add your own gesso to them great for practice. Esp if using oil paints.

The Range is AMAZING It really only came into prominence about 15 years ago, I think there were a few around before then, but in recent years it seems every major city in the UK now has a Range somewhere! The one near me doesn't have a great deal of stuff in terms of art things, but for décor, it's brilliant! Hopefully, at some point, you'll be able to find a 'The Works' to visit too, they're another good, cheap art store range over here. I'm glad you found a good Hobbycraft, though - not all of them are as amazing as that. The one near me has really gone downhill over the past couple of years. And don't worry - completely understand what you meant about value for money - yes, for me over here in the UK it's expensive, but with the exchange rate, it would work out better value for you! @@ChloeRoseArt

Congratulations on your engagement! As a former employee of Hobbycraft, I wholeheartedly approve of Chloe’s choices. It’s one of the more creative and inspiring places to work as an artist and crafter. (Yeah, it’s not perfect, but I would love to work there again!) I love the wedding decoration ideas. Having a traditional wedding can be so expensive - especially when you’re trying to do all the things that are expected as standard! It’s so much better to use your creative skills and make the theme based on you, not the other way around! I can’t wait to see the finished creations.

The one thing I like about Hobby craft is the post Christmas sells on tubes of oil paint and they sell them dirt cheap even the expensive high pigment ones. The Works have a mixed bag but I love their Canvas Pads £2-£3 for 8 sheets of gesso canvas they do various sizes they are great for practice or an alternative to a full framed canvas. Just add your own Extra gesso to them if using oils and I always buy a few when I see them.

We have a massive hobby lobby here where I live in the states and i've seen the spectrum noir in there a few times. but it's a small selection as Copics and prisma color tend to be more popular. but they do have them then again they have a massive marker isle/section too so it might just be they had the room for it. cause like i said the store is huge! about as big as the walmart we have in this area as well. I love the Hobby Lobby here! we do have other stores as well like micheals but it was a hunt to find it! There is also a Joann fabric store but that's about it around here! we also have a flea market which is massive as well you can find some neat craft stuff in there as well! but also it can get weird some booths are... interesting to say the least lol.

I'm on the west coast and we have the standard big box trifecta which leans more towards the crafty end of things with smaller art supply dept. But I've started going to Blick and Artist and Craftsman and I love those stores so much. When I go on vacation I always have to find them and see how big and different (if only slightly) they are from other locations.

Those fluffy worms used to be called squirmles here in uk, you can still get and also for cat toys. The works is very cheap for craft and art supplies, sometimes you can get some good stuff in the pound shop, WH Smith can be expensive for art stuff though. The bloke who owns the range also owns Wilkos now so has lots more range art stuff. In uk we only have to have loos in shops if they have cafes in them ie to wash hands. The lift is really meant for disabled and for prams, there are stairs. I’m in a wheelchair so it would be annoying to have to wait for abled bodied to all using it, wouldn’t be fair.

We couldn't afford a full wedding planner, but we got a day of coordinator who did things like setting up the table decorations we made, made sure that things went according to the schedule, and then tore down at the end of the night. It was a god send.

You can get spectrum noir markers here in the USA, just not as easy to find as they used to be.

Spotlight and Lincraft really cannot be compared to a shop like Hobbycraft! They are both haberdashery shops which sell a limited range of craft supplies. I find the best place for craft stuff is Kmart, much cheaper and have a good range. I wish we had something like a dedicated hobby chain store, like Hobbycraft here.

I went to a reception for a wedding where some of us went early snd set up the tables and chairs snd tablecloths snd table decorations snd all that BEFORE the wedding party snd guests arrived. This meant i didn't attend the wedding, but i didn't know the couple. The parents of one of them asked me to help, and in exchange i got s free meal. I'm not sure if that's an option for you or not. Some wedding attendees did also help The reception was held at a different location than the actual ceremony also We also stayed after the reception snd did clean up.

A lot of mental health departments will use crafts as part of their therapy, or at least they did but with the NHS in crisis I am not sure and it has been several years since I was involved with them. Giving yourself something to focus on is a good thing
