Love all your escapades in vintage knitting! I'm not going to lie, a knit vintage swimming costume made of wool sounds risky af lol, i'm glad you're making yours out of cotton. I've watched both Retro Claude and Engineering Knits knit vintage swim suits more as experiments so it will be cool to see yours and how you find it actually swiming with it. Also maybe this is just me, but i'd love to find out which projects you've talked about on the podcast that you decided to frog! I think it's fun to get updates like that, if you're interested in talking about it. Why you frogged it, why the pattern/project didn't end up working out, etc.

Thank you so very much! lmao yeah definitely! It has been about three weeks or so since I made this video and I've done a lot more research into knitted swimwear (lot of lurking through historical archives), so I've been thinking of doing like a game plan video and then after my family visit an evaluation video :) Funnily enough, I'm currently working actually on such a video, so it will hopefully be out in a couple of weeks :)
Your Inge sweater is looking fantastic! Your color palette is 🔥🔥🔥

Thank you so much!! :D
Love your podcasts and how you draw inspiration from so many varied sources! I would love to try knitting in patterns that are not English, but it's still daunting for me. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough!

Ah thank you so much!! I felt the same way at first, but I'm sure one day you'll be like -- you know what? Screw this, I'm just going to try it! :D
Thank you again for this interesting topic on vintage patterns. My mother had vintage sewing patterns but never thought much about vintage knitting patterns until I watched your podcast. You are an inspiration 🫶🏿😁🙌🏿🧶

It's always a pleasure and thanks so much for watching my videos and commenting! :D Vintage knitting patterns always seemed so inaccessible to me, but really with a lot of patience, the right pattern to start with and some courage I think it's a great avenue with loads of hidden gems :))
Very enjoyable! I love the vintage patterns. Happy creating 💚🧶💚

Thank you so much! :D xx
I am so happy I stumbled upon your channel! It's always nice to find the people who produce content about vintage knitting! I had started writing a length comment about many things, but it disappeared 😅 So I will only mention this time that I have the same issue here in Brazil that you found with Dutch patterns: they're mostly written for a 90-96 cm bust size, where I'm more within the range comprehended by the English language patterns (86-89 cm)

Thank you so much for watching!! :D I quite like that challenge of having to adjust patterns, I'm particularly interested in figuring out how to adjust bust darts (I've found many of them in vintage bathing suit patterns).
I am so glad your Vodcast came across my feed 🥂 I am a fellow knitter and Vodcaster living in Leipzig (which you mention in your episode!! Woot woot!) I loved listening to your vintage pattern adventures and will definitely be joining in to see how they turn out! Also, the amount of languages you understand/speak is insane! 🤯👏🏼👏🏼

Ah thank you so much!! :D That's so awesome you live in Leipzig!! -- I don't think I mentioned it in this episode, but one of the two national libraries of Germany is in Leipzig, so if you are ever interested in looking into German vintage patterns, you can find them there and membership is currently free, so it won't cost you a thing ;)

@@SejiFields yes, as a Masters Student i had spent many a hour in the national library 😂 never thought to look for knitting patterns though! Great tip!
Oh my God that vintage book that they basically put all onto one sheet of paper is terrifying!!!

I know right?! I mean, it makes sense it's a pattern from the soviet union, but still! Haha XD
I can't believe that shop still hasn't sent you the patterns. I also don't understand why they will ship internationally but not to the Netherlands.

I know right?! It has puzzled me ever since :/ They ended up never sending the pattern and someone else in Germany had to buy it for me. I have yet to receive my money back which is really frustrating :(
Oh snap! I've been finding paper Sirdar vintage patterns in charity shops here and I'm working on a top as I speak from one that I have acquired and there are so many mistakes in the pattern. I know if I had attempted this as a beginner knitter i would have given up completely. Interesting they have scanned them onto their site!! I'll have to check them out and in the meantime I'll keep collecting the paper ones.

Oh wow which pattern are you specifically knitting at the moment? I haven't encountered any mistakes so far in mine. I also finished crocheting sirdar 5181 a couple of days ago and that experience was pretty good too -- I'm sure I just got lucky with those two haha xD

@@SejiFields Thats good you didnt encounter mistakes, gives me more hope! I'm knitting Sirdar 5393. The front wrap section didn't account for some plain rows in the lace pattern and it threw off the stitch count while decreasing. I finished knitting the front and back just need to knit around the armhole, neck, then seam and block. Nearly there!

Just found it on the site -- that's a really cute pattern, perfect for summer :) Well done on figuring that and good luck with the finishing ;)
I really like your Inge Sweater and Flicon Slipover. 🧶
