Thank you so much!! Really looking forward to finishing it -- luckily the weather here is still quite murky so I should be able to get some use out of it before summer really starts :)

Lmaoo yeah it really does feel like that haha! And honestly, same! It's been on my list to make for so long, I'm so glad I finally have the skills to make it :)
There's a general rule that if you change 20 percent of a pattern, you can publish a pattern. You can also change some of the techniques - like what cast on your recommend, or how you add or decrease stitches. I am not a lawyer - but know that a lot of companies practice this to avoid breaking copyright.

Oh I hadn't stumbled upon that rule yet - will have to give that a look, thank you!! :D

Ah thank you so much! I've been dealing with some mental health issues and haven't been able to actually read all that much for the past two years :( Hoping to make some literary content again some though :)

I think Hikoo is supposed to be pronounced like the poem haiku? I could be wrong 😅 I knit my mom a pair of fingerless gloves out of their CoBaSi yarn years ago. I really like hearing about your forays into vintage knitting patterns, and pattern translation. I’ve started getting into vintage patterns this year. I’ve also been considering exploring Spanish-language patterns to help me stretch my Spanish skills…

Ah yup, I think you're probably right -- I didn't realise I was pronouncing it as a Dutch word until your comment hahah, thanks! ;P That's really awesome! I found this webpage from a textile museum in Spain that gives a bit of recap on vintage knitting/handicraft resources, so perhaps that would be of interest to you? :) cdmt.cat/es/publicaciones-femeninas-de-labores-y-modas/
Imho, when you knit something heavily modifying original instructions or even being just inspired by a design, there is not much to worry about copyrights. I enjoy your videos. And I wonder, are you a full time knitter now? Do you still study, and if you do, are you a student of Japanese language/culture?

Thank you so much! Ah yeah I've been doing a lot of research into that since recording as I'd really like to update some fun and old patterns I've stumbled upon :) As for being a full time knitter, I'm took a break for a semester, I'll be back to studying statistics after the summer. I'm also a student of Japanese language -- I'm hoping to write my thesis next year :)
