    How sad this issue is demonstrates that we live in a sick and isolating society!! When are the mainstream media going to start reporting on the sheer scale of loneliness and toxic cultural influences tearing apart peoples lives and making people vulnerable to very damaged people.

    @@matthewdancz9152 Sadly, this is the problem. Targeting of men and people in general with manipulative ideas and fake solutions is the job of marketeers. Massive amounts of money is spent on these manipulations. The algorithms are set up to target vulnerabilities creating serious problems for individuals and society at large. Those responsible continue fucking smiling and issuing statements about how the health of their clients well-being and lives is important to them. They then go on about being a force for good. I'd love to see Zuckerberg in the dock/ with his metaverse face smashed to smithereens!! (on saying this perhaps I'll be getting some content coming my way that inflames my temperament into violent rage and red cloud thinking!!). Bastards!! And that includes big sections of the media!! Shock jock SCUM who pose as political commentators!! Also organisations like Cambridge Analytica!! How can they even think they are a force for good and deny their culpability!!! How can they be confronted and dismantled!! Once again, bastards!!

    @@Anythingyoulike2013 I watched an interview with a man who worked for google. The first step is to change the algorithms so they don't keep reinforcing violent and discriminatory ideas/eg hate speech. Also forcing laws on the likes of Musk and Zuckerberg to fact check content and prevent disinformation from spreading. A lot more can be done. I'd break up these big tech companies and/or have elected democratic oversight with neutral interests of those overseeing. Also the education system needs to have the the expertise and resources to teach children about corporate manipulations. If I could implement that I'd need a huge amount of power Taj Singh. Plus I'd also need to draw on a lot of expertise and research. As for loneliness these companies and governments would do well to improve people's quality of life/ rather than playing on insecurities and stop stigmatising legitimate political movements .

    In the 80's, walking my dog in the evening or on a weekend, I used to pass entire streets of men of all ages standing round cars they were collectively tinkering on, discussing all sorts of things. The mechanical cars provided an ever present, non-alcohol based occupation for inter-generational male community building. Cars today may be a lot more comfortable and are definitely a lot more reliable and safer, but I regret the loss of the activities they gave rise to, the friendships and discussions they made possible.

    I think that aspiration culture and the selling of sex=happiness has a lot to answer for on this. I mean, advertisers spend millions on making sure people are suckered into the aspiration. Sure. Most people don't end up on these extremes. But, as someone who has had body dysmorphia, social anxiety - and as a consequence - a worldview coloured by that, I can see how people's perspective can become very skewed. I was just lucky enough to have a small handful of decent friends to keep me in an orbit of normality. Social awkwardness means less friends, means more time spent looking from the outside in, means you don't get rounded experiences or a good view of people and the world. Gym culture. Young investment culture. MMA. Everything seems to be geared around an obsession with being as Alpha as possible, and it's sad to see. I'm old enough to have been young in the 90's, and the emphasis on masculinity, success, fun, sexuality etc was completely different. A lot freer and multifaceted, that's for sure. Not to get all hippy-shit on people. But, the youth desperately need some kind of Age of Aquarius or Summer of Love or something to come along soon. Where they get to shed this skin of hyper-aspiration, and just chase happiness on their own terms. A secondary concern of course is the cosmetic surgery industry that seeks to profit from these people's unhappiness. Leg lengthening surgery??. I mean, FFS..........

    We really need to help people realize that your self-worth has nothing to do with who you are dating. We put too much value on sex and the opinions of others and to be honest nowadays I have zero interest in dating but that's ok my feeling of self-worth is not based on who I'm shagging, there are so many other ways to contribute to society and live a good and productive life but we tie our self-worth into sexual relations.

    If more people like Ben Zand just went out of their way a little bit to invite less popular loners out for a night out that would massively help reduce the Incel problem but most people think about themselves and only want to hang out with people who have more status or equal status... honestly if it wasn't for certain mates of mine who invited me out when their other friends told them not too but they still invited me out I might have been an Incel forever!

    I’m going to watch this documentary. I don’t usually admit this but I never properly went on a night out until I was 26 and I’m a virgin at the age of 27. I always just assumed I was ugly or it was because I have aspergers, though I never engaged with the incel community, but when I went on nights out with a friend who pushed me to talk to people, there were women who were interested in me. I think it’s because I moved somewhere else with a more lively nightlife. Though I have experienced unfair behaviour from young women which were being labelled weird and having someone make false accusations against me as part of an intentional ploy - I can understand how anyone who experiences or have experienced these things may be drawn to the incel community. Perhaps ‘weird’ could be interpreted as an ableist slur.

  • @GreenMorningDragonProductions

    When they say "weird" I think a lot of the time they mean a man's awkwardness makes them uncomfortable. Really though, you do get blokes who've got a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp, but who are well-liked by women because they're comfortable in their own skin. You'd be surprised how far just being polite, engaged and relaxed can take you. Not easy, I know, for a lot of lads, but getting out there and practicing again can go a long way.

    I'm really starting to get annoyed with all of these men acting like women can't and don't have the same experiences. There are so many women, who can't get dates, who get called weird or are insulted or not even treated as human because for a lot of men their treatment of a woman is based on her attractiveness. The difference is that most of these women talk to other women, find hobbies etc to distract from it. Most of them just do their own thing while trying to make themselves more attractive by doing other things. The word incel even originated FROM A WOMAN, describing her experience with loneliness. 🙄 and a lot of people are called weird, I've had no issue finding partners. Weird is basically another word for peculiar, strange, out of the norm etc. Not everything that describes something negative or different is ableist. Crazy etc yes abeilist. But weird isn't only connected to or used to describe people who are neurodivergent.

    Who'd have thought a toxic society, where look are quite literally everything. Think of all the cosmetic ads you've seen, all the taglines, all the clothes ads or shoes etc, everybody's got to have the latest this and that and everybody has too look their best 99% of the time. No wonder people feel so undervalued when society has literally said to us every day since we can remember that we have to look our best, be at our best and if we're not then we're not good enough in general, never mind the product being sold. Once again I've arrived at the conclusion that this can only be described as a byproduct of hyper-consumerism/capitalism and the only end goal is profit. All the rest of it, animal testing, incels, tax dodging, is just part of the game, and we, the consumer are not only expendable, but willingly accept that this is just the way things are and it's not right.

The availability of places that promote this kind of life are far more easily accessible (free) when compared to traditional means of help. Further, these kinds of online communities also retain that level of anonimity that undoubtedly contributes and encourages to theis end.

    I've met a few incels in real life, as well as many online, and they were among the most hateful and vicious people I have ever come across. They were also among the most mis-guided and vulnerable too. Almost all of them had the same story. They weren't popular at school, didn't play football, were maybe a bit overweight or had bad skin etc, and they had been quite deliberately ignored by the cool kids. To be cut off from your peer group at that age is extremely damaging, emotionally and socially, and they had never gotten over it. They sat in thier rooms, hating thier classmates and turning that hate in on themselves, until hate is all that was left. There was no positivity in them at all. They're not the captain of the sports team, with a nice car and a cute GF, so to hell with all those losers. To hell with everybody. That's when vile manipulators got a hold of them. All it took was for them to type in something like 'How to meet girls when you're fat/poor/ugly' and pretty soon they're down a rabbit hole, where articles with names like 'Woman are gold digging b*tches' and 'Why men are under attack from rad-fem' tell them that they're not getting what they are entitled too because of some conspiracy to wipe out everybody that isn't a 6ft tall lefty soy-boy snowflake. It doesn't take long before blame is laid at the feet of the NWO and the Jews. The people behind this are, unsurprisingly, extreme right wing anti-semites, who befriend these poor souls and convince them that they're being targetted by a shadowy cabal whose end goal is the replacement of white males. It's tragic, but I have no idea what I can do to show them that they're being used. That might do even more damage in the long term.

    I think part of the issue is that they’re looking at dating and mating from a business transactional perspective. They’re not realizing that there is a level of reciprocity in that but it’s not a business market where you’re buying items. In dating and mating, you’re dealing with actual people and not objects. In order to deal with actual people, this is where social and emotional intelligence or at least a modicum of it is very imperative. Looking at people as objects to obtain for self satisfaction won’t get you to the goal. The incel has to understand that the images that are portrayed on television, movies, and other means of entertainment are not reality based. The alpha male is not real. A woman will want to deal with you if she actually feels comfortable around you. Again, feels comfortable around you. If one goes around projecting hatred about women and giving off non verbal communication that’s awkward/off putting that’s part of the issue. A lot of these guys that they envy have taken “losses” too. Shoot, there’s prime time pimps and players out there who’ve been knocked for their women. That should give the incel perspective that their expectation in this regard is unrealistic. With that, you have to actually be in social settings and places where the opposite sex is. The world is not going to stop spinning and coming to they’re room or basement. The world and life is happening outside of that. I’m willing to bet that if they actually got their social skills right and went into a cool social setting then they will likely find that there’s women that are checking them out. This incel thing sounds like some mentalism spell being ran in them by predatory individuals who have a stake in having them as listeners and customers. The secret is that there is no magical secret to achieving this stuff. It’s all lies and bs. Do not fall for the spell.

  • @watitduful

    @watitduful

    @Boon2000 In a broad sense there's truth to that. In the proper context, the "transaction" is really just having a mutual love and respect for one another. Everything else connects from that and gives the relationship substance and longevity. What these others are talking about is a literal transaction which is not rooted in love and mutual respect for one another. Its rooted in selfishness and objectifying the other partner as well as oneself. Quite a few people sadly fall into this particular category and wonder why their relationships always fail. You can't be self centered/selfish & seeking to dominate your partner if you want an actual loving and caring relationship. It will never work. We are human beings, not commodities to be owned and controlled.

    Adults who don't work, whether self-employed or as employees, continue to face a crisis of connection. It used to be primarily retirees one thought of as having too much time on their hands and getting increasingly isolated and curmudgeonly. Now it's happening before these young men even start working, delayed development, failure to thrive. I retired early, while still young enough to do pretty much anything I could ever do physically and mentally, but have still taken several years to fill my life with fulfilling activity. It's hard! It's that much harder when you've not yet developed practically useful skills to contribute to the world nor confidence in people wanting to interact with you. I feel for these young people. I can only imagine how painful it would be to go through what I did post retirement only with no money, no track record of success, and no useful skills in the economy. All they've got on their side is time, and to them even that feels more like a burden than a blessing. This is inspiring me to include a mention of getting outside and engaging the world in some way in all my online content going forward. If I could have one affect on people, I hope that it could be encouraging people to engage with life more.

  • @goodwork887

    @goodwork887

    @@johnsampson6387 If that's the only job you can get, take it. The main thing is to get something on your resume and have a reference who can vouch that you show up on time, don't cause trouble, and do the job you're hired to do. Without that, you're asking for too much of a chance to be taken on you, particularly if as you say you have poor social skills, which likely means you interview poorly. Which is another thing: I have Aspergers so it was always hard for me with social stuff, but I learned to mask well, at least for the single hour it takes to have an interview. I got so good at it that I later taught interviewing skills as a volunteer in a church program. If you don't even have Asp. then you can surely learn to perform effective interviewing even if on a daily basis you'd do better working solo. On the identity stuff, don't get caught in that trap! The world is telling you that everything comes down to identity politics, but it's a lie. I have many times been the only person of my race on a job, many, many, many times! But I wouldn't have been if I'd looked around me and said to myself, "I must not be wanted here because no one else looks like me." Tell yourself the story you want to live. And consider picking the job and training for it, rather than waiting for a job to pick you. Focus on ones that don't require social skills perhaps, like stuff with data, machines, etc. Being a garbage man might actually be a good start, since you just work with machines and maybe a single co-worker, but any job will do. My first job was canvassing. It sucked! It's a completely social job. My first job after college was data entry. Also very low clout job, but at least all I had to do was focus on a computer all day. My work career started hard, but ended well, so no complaints. Hopefully you'll someday be able to say the same.

  • @johnsampson6387

    @johnsampson6387

    @@goodwork887 Garbageman was a worse job for me because of having one other co-worker that I was expected to make painful awkward forced small talk with. I preferred working in bigger groups so other people could make the small talk and keep the conversation going and I could sort of fade into the background. I don't mind working...that's fine...but to make small talk and try and entertain my coworkers and try to think of things to say constantly was like a whole other job to me. That's why I'd much prefer to work alone. I did work retail for a bit and it did help me develop some social skills because I was forced to interact with others...but that wasn't so bad because there was a script for me to follow when interacting with customers. If there's no script for me to follow socially (such as with small talk), then it's just a excruciatingly painful awkward mess for me with long lulls of silence because I have no idea what to say. I have gotten a bit better with time as I've just learned to copy what other people do or say in certain situations, but a lot of it still feels very forced, like I'm an actor or something. My natural state (what doesn't feel forced) is straight-faced and speaking in monotone and saying very little...and I have come a long way from that. I only mentioned identity politics because it seems as though white males are discriminated against in many western countries. Like if they see a white male's name on the resume, he won't even get called in for an interview. I've heard of people doing experiments using a female name or an ethnic minority name on the exact same resume and all of a sudden, they are getting calls for interviews. There seems to be a push for "diversity" in the workforce (a.k.a. less white males). I didn't pick a specific job to train for because I'm very indecisive. There's no job that stands out to me that's something that I would want to do...just jobs that I maybe wouldn't mind doing as much as others (such as jobs that require a lot of socializing). The way I see it, there's no point in me training to become a computer programmer or web designer or something if I can't even hold a basic job. I would just waste all that money on education/training and I wouldn't even be able to pay it back. That's why I tried to see if I could even hold a basic job first.

Is just hard to feel a point in working hard on yourself when others don't even need to struggle just cause of the fact they look better and are treated better from it. You say your face doesn't make or break you, but is easy to get fixated on it when others demean or praise you soley based on the first impression. @@xtdycxtfuv9353 Some men have been awkward around women since time immemorial. When I was in my teens that was definately me. Did I ever bemoan my lot with the ladies when I was young? Of course I did. Did I ever assume that I had a right to sex or a relationship with a woman? Never. My first wife was a horrible person who made me feel worthless. It took some time to get over. I have physical scars from that relationship. The thing to remember about situations like that is that my first wife was one person, not an avatar for all women. Incel groups only seem to offer a chance to wallow in the misery of where things went wrong with no consideration of where change and improvement could occur. If people only ever tell themselves they'll fail it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. I'll freely admit it's a challenging 'habit of thought' to get out of but it's possible. Read widely, have opinions, have interests. Speak your opinions and things you've read, somebody may have a counter opinion or agree both are fine. Neither be an ogre or a doormat relationships will happen. Romantic ones? No guarantee. But being hostile and focused on the failings of women to recognise your uniqueness will 100% leave you lonely and isolated.

    @@jodders619 It’s not awkwardness 🤦‍♀️ it’s about not being desirable to women and the effects of exogamy and, incidentally, hypergamy. Tinder and other Online dating apps reveal what has been suspected since the first incel became privy to it: only looks matter. This is more true the closer to twenty you are. At your age, looks are of much less importance for a relationship. But for the 2000’s crowd, this is very applicable. Unattractive guys get nothing, and if you happen to be repulsive, that’s just it; expect a life where you are socially isolated. Incel groups, as you call it, are really just depressed and resentful men. That’s the majority, and they are regular in other aspects. I know somehow misogyny gets brought up, but it’s no more common in incel groups than in any other.

    I had been an incel at various points in my life but I wasn't part of any online community or anything. It was just pretty rare when a woman would choose me. And no, I wasn't a hermit. I worked in the restaurant industry, acted in community theater, and did vocals for some really good bands for years. Truth is, people are going to go for the best they can get and when you're 5'7" and don't make much money, most women feel they can do better. It doesn't make them terrible and it doesn't make me terrible. It just is. And while I can understand the feelings of rejection these guys have, they aren't acting in good faith. I can't count the number of times I had women turn me down and sometimes very rudely (laughing, getting upset and cursing that only shrimps approach them, or stating they would if I wasn't so short) and how many dates I went on to find out it was just another night out by myself but that's just how it is. These guys "know" it will be a terrible experience so they refuse to act in good faith. So, yeah, I get how it sucks to be rejected but until you've tried in good faith for years, it doesn't hold much weight.

The world has become so shallow and despite his faux empathy he is part of what drives it. We now live in a world of, ‘hit the like button’, ‘please subscribe to my channel’ not to mention the pursuit of followers and manipulated selfies. TV and film makers continue to cast the most attractive people in the key roles. Rarely do we see those considered less attractive to have prominent and valid roles. I think rather than being dismissive of how ‘incels’ behave or how deluded their views may seem, we must seek to take their concerns seriously and actually seek ways to change how people are actually valued. Regardless of what anyone may claim here, attractiveness, extraordinary talent or wealth are overwhelmingly the only attributes given any credence in todays world.

But you gotta see: You left the dating market (at least I hope so) when you marries your man. That means you haven't lived through the technological progress done in one decade (2010 - 2020). In 20 years, from 2000 to 2020 the dating market has gone insane. In 2008 about 8% of men were in/cels. Now it's 28% closing in on 30%. You lived in a time where people were in a small village and only had like 20 or 30 peers to choose from. Now its a global market with global competition. That leads, as we know in economy, to a few global players who monopolize the good. Same thing happened here. It's just that only men complain because females ARE the monopoly, they are the only suppliers of intimacy globalization has led to that realization for all females. Great video. Something I would like to add to the discussion around incels is that underlying problem of incels is the economy. It's been known for over 100 years now that as inflation increases the amount of sex people are having decreases. This is because it becomes more expensive to raise a child and thus much more dangerous for women to have an unplanned pregnancy which I believe is the real cause of what incels call hypergamy. Because of the economy it's much more expensive to socialise since our culture is based around consumerism and thus people are socialising less. Also parents are forced to more locate time and attention away from their children and more into earning money due to this the state has basically become the step in parent for a lot of children the problem here is that important skills such as socialising aren't taught in schools.

    Is the civil rights movement to blame for growing white supremacy in the west? Blaming an equal rights movement on worsening gender/racial/etc relations makes no sense. Conflict arises because previous structures of power are being threatened, and those in power begin to feel powerless in when they are taken down from that place of privilege.

    I'd rather cut to the controversial nub of the issue: "Women do not owe you sex". There is an amusing correlate to this which I find is usefully phrased as so: A. Men tend to prefer capitalism in the market of resources and socialism in the market of sex. B. Women tend to prefer socialism in the market of resources and capitalism in the market of sex. Given men as a group are net tax contributors and women as a group are net tax deficits (can I stick links in this?) - an uncomfortable mirror issue reveals itself: "Men do not owe you money." The demands of socialism are extremely similar to incel ideology: There is considered to be an imbalance where some people end up with nothing and some people seem to end up with everything - the obvious capitalist response is: Sort out your bad attitude - the system works fine. To which a socialist says: No the system is unfair, and authority should by force re-allocate resources to those who aren't getting a sufficient amount from those who are successful at it in the free market. This is the exact same mentality as the incel: Rather than sorting out their bad attitude, a socialist blames the system and says things should be re-allocated so they can win even when they're losers. The logic is inescapable - incels are a product of leftism as well.

    Socialism is the ownership of the means of production by those who use it to produce value. People should own their own bodies. Neither Socialism and Capitalism relates to sex outside of the realm of sex work. Your comment portrays a really unhealthy transactionary view of sex.
