Well they used to do that. But people would return the items to the stores. * Now when you go to donate They scratch a line through the barcode.

Agree with you a 💯! Give it to homeless people.. or to goodwill, whatever just don’t waste perfectly good products.. this is so sad.

I would have taken that Gucci cover bag to use for purses. That is what I do. But definitely some good scores.

Put the melted candles in containers flat on the floor of your car for another day -- they'll melt back into shape! I've done it before -- I live in Houston, so hot cars are a way of life.

All of those men’s polo shirts, underwear, and Socks they just decided to slash up and destroy could’ve been donated to a men’s shelter because a lot of people in these shelters go job hunting and they need nice clothes for interviews and stuff. It’s such a waste And terrible to put in our landfills because it’s so bad for our environment. Something is seriously wrong with people and they need to start changing for the better because it’s completely sickening.

If you have any Michael craft stores around you make sure to check those. They throw a lot of good stuff away. Bath & body will throw candles away that are broken but you can just transfer it into a new container.

During my retail days, in ye olde past, we had to destroy items before we put them in the crushing dumpster. The reason was due to fraud. Some people would go through dumpsters for product, then try to return the items to stores for cash/credit. We hated to destroy things, but we really didn't have a choice. The same thing would happen with donations, unfortunately.

Why not just mess up the tags or something that doesn’t destroy the whole product, surely there’s a better way…

@@emilys5308 Luckily, we didn't have to destroy that many clothes. If a breakable item had a chip, we had to finish it off. If a plush had a stain or safety issue, we had to completely destroy it for safety reasons, which makes sense. For us, it was usually a safety issue first and fraud issue second.

If you get the candles with broken jars, you can cut the candle up and use it in a tart burner. Great score! I always love your videos and everything that you save🩷

Put the melted ones back in your car, use a fork later when you can move the wax to find the wick. Or just use the wax in a cube wax thing as wax melts. Take out current dried wax, put in melted eax, let ut cool and remove. Or leave the candle in the car as scent. 😅

The fact that they have to cut it so it can’t be used is disgusting. There’s so many people that need clothes and things like that. Why don’t they have a system where every store throws stuff into one thing and have a company pick it up once a week and give to people who need it.

for the melted candles, put them in a plastic baggie with the top on and then steam them on a low heat! should be perfect after:) this goes without saying but dont microwave them lol

So sad. You think the underwear & socks could be donated to homeless shelters. And clothing can be donated to Goodwill. Not sure why bath & body would not give the old/used candles to employees. Better than tossing them. What a waste. I used to work at a supermarket when I was younger and the manager would always give us meat that was getting close to expiration date. This was so nice of him to do, and it helped me and my family out as I did not have a lot of money at the time.
