I was just at Cerro Gordo on the 2nd of this month and spoke with a guy named Phil that works there (super cool and informative guy by the way) and he mentioned the upcoming collaboration, the project is quite important as well as a must for permitting purposes for the future plans of Cerro Gordo! Seeing the town was pretty awesome! Just a few miles away from the town though is the salt tram which brought salt up and over the mountain starting in saline Valley (death valley NP) and ending in Owen's valley near lone pine. It is incredible what those old timers were able to accomplish back then without modern equipment! Also ran into Brent while at the salt tram and I can only say that he is a super cool guy! He offered up tons of history about the area, answered any questions myself or my buddies had and was happy to do so! If you can ever make it up I'd recommend checking it out and there is a lot to explore in the area, I'll be back for sure!

The great eastern salt basin, under Lake Erie/Lake Huron/Ohio/Ontario/Michigan is bigger and produces most of the road salt used in the eastern US and Canada. Suggestion: Sparks should buy a used 4x4 ambulance and turn it into a mobile tailgating kitchen. Have grills on rails to slide out the rear doors, put in fridge/freezers to keep the team supplied in cold beverages and food, setup a big battery bank with inverters/solar panels/generator, add an air compressor with a few 50ft long hose reels for pneumatic tools, use the outside storage for a mini-shop worth of other power and hand tools.

I came here for one of the Blackhawk videos and hadn’t seen any others. That was quite a while ago. I thought this video was going to be pretty interesting and he’ll yeah it is! I was like oh cool they’re going to a mine! Then in the vid one second he’s “like yeah so we’re here at the mine” then the next minute he’s like “WE JUST SHOT THIS HOME MADE CANNON 700 YARDS” and I definitely didn’t expect that but it was so awesome. I will take note that salt mines and home made cannons go hand in hand.

I work outside everyday, all day, out in this Texas heat, which for the last 2 straight months has been 100° + Today it's 107°. I have gut problems and I'm essentially dehydrated all the time, even before I got this job. I'm struggling pretty bad. I started watching you a couple weeks ago. Love your content, but this episode, is a literal life saver! It's super interesting, I love stuff like this and their products may actually really help my situation. So, sincerely brother. I thank you very much for all you do, for working with them and for the discount! I just bought some of their products. I'm sure they work great and I can't wait to feel better and work healthier! 💯💯💯

If you add all the current and past ones together... the Northwich brine pits had 3-4 levels...they only grouted the top 2 so we could still get another collapse one day and the collapse at Neumanns Flashes caused the river to run backwards for a week I think it was and then was mostly backfilled with mine waste and industrial waste anything they could get their hands on.

I am so glad you went to Redmond mine! About 3 months ago, I found out I have POTS, basically my autonomic system doesn't work right and I live dehydrated and I have to drink 4000 to 5000mg of salt a day or I get dizzy, stomach issues, brain fog, fatigue, and most of all my heart races horribly and I feel like I'm going to pass out, so I drink Re-lyte and LMNT salt sticks too!! It literally has changed my life!! *reaches for her bottle of salt 😆 Many people have no clue how important this whole topic is Dave, so thank you for taking time to educate!! Many other electrolyte or salt stick sellers have it wrong!!

This was cool to watch especially since im at work and my job consists of me hauling salt on a pile at a potash mine. This salt doesnt get used for food products but it does get shipped around Canada and the US. The potash is mined 3,350 feet below surface then brought up and sent thru a mill that seperates the potash from the salt then the salt gets pumped onto piles via brine. The potash gets loaded onto train cars and semis and distributed around the world.

That is really cool. I have done a salt mine tour once a while back and thought it was very interesting. There is a huge salt mine here in Kansas that is 45-60 minutes from Wichita. They do the salt mine tours but it is still an active mine and there is also a storage company that keeps things safe and secure in the mines and is naturally climate controlled. Some of the movie studios use the storage down in the mines as they store the old movie film that is quite flammable so it’s safer. Awesome video guys. Thank you very much for the entertainment.

Heavy D, I’ll start off by saying you’re awesome & I love your show & KZread content. When you said your boat was going to have a not so conventional engine I had an idea. Was thinking you need to invent a rotary Diesel engine with indestructible seals somehow. I bet that would sound pretty cool if it could be done. And that is a much better use for bowling balls, I’m a head mechanic at a Brunswick bowling alley.

Thanks for the tour of the salt mine, in Redmond, Utah. Salzburg Austria there is a large deep salt mine. I did go down in the mine on an open train, seated one behind another, on narrow rail. It was a roller coaster ride down. An old fashion way to enter the mine. Had to wear head gear and a leather jacket. Return on a geared chain drive ride. Lot of fun.

That's a very cool video; That salt mine seems amazing. It must be very healthy for your lungs to breathe in that salty air inside the mine. My uncle once , years ago, sent me a small unit that looks like an air conditioning unit and has a front slide out filter, enclosed in sort of like a cassette plastic thin, maybe one inch space inside, full of pink salt crystals(minerals) from inside a mine, and behind it had a small fan that would blow salty air , through the front filter/cassette and you could use it in your room, like a small ventilator unit, plugged into a power source, for people with asthma, or respiratory problems, lungs . He said it can cure asthma and respiratory issues over a period of time if used regularly. I still have that unit somewhere in the house. I think that salt mine is absolutely fascinating.

Very awesome video. Been wanting to see that mine for years. Had a couple clients that worked there at one time. And one of my drivers that works for my salvage company. Transport salt from there. It's always awesome to see somebody feel their bucket list. I got a chance when I was young to drive one of the big loaders my dad used to repair them. From the the Delaware silver mine in Jordan Valley Oregon. You'll have to check out that old silver mine. It is the backside of Silver City Idaho. We used to go hunting up there. There's a very awesome old ghost town there. Keep up the good content. Thank you guys
