I'm really hoping that it turns out Gohan was the only one NOT de-aged somehow, and that's why they're hiding him. It'd be a funny reversal of the early days of Z when he was the only kid amongst a bunch of adults. Now he's the only adult amongst a bunch of kids. Plus, he was the one who fought Dabura and trained with Shin, so he should be a point of interest for the new villains.

I think it will be a fun series. You really couldn't go much higher after the battle of god and the tournament of power. Goku vs the literal god of destruction for the fate of earth, and a multiverse destroying event. you really can't get much higher stakes than destroying all but one participating universe. So a stat squish was probably needed. it opens us up to new adventures that probably couldn't happen in super (due to being too low stake for the z warriors to care), and new stories/interactions. Maybe we'll see piccolo getting nostalgic after seeing gohan as a child again. Maybe goku will finally teach chichi to fly, since being a child will probably make things significantly more difficult for her. (things like reaching a counter/cabinet, or literally anything that requires being more than 2.5 feet tall.)

I kinda hope they introduce Towa in this show Toriyama created her to be a villain in the main timeline’s future, so setting her up to be canon (canon again depending on if you think DBO was canon when it first released and think it was retconned.) would be cool.

Please no. I fucking HATE Towa. I think she and her stupid son/husband Mira and all of the lore and plot lines associated with them are the worst things ever in Dragon Ball. I got so angry when they were in Kakarot. Let's all forget about Towa and Mira.

I'm really excited for Daima and I really liked your thoughts on the time placement of the series, placing it in the 4 year gap between Z and Super makes a lot of sense because Dabra's death is more recent so there's more reason to enact revenge earlier than after 10 years imo, also because that era of Dragon Ball is a blank slate, perfect to add something like this into that timeframe.

If this series is an exploration of Dragon Bal lore, with the adventure and humor from the original Dragon Ball, and a de-emphasis on power scaling... I'm here for it. In fact, I haven't been more excited for a Dragon Ball production in a very long time.

Gotta love the in-depth analysis on these trailers.

Shin becoming a main character is actually really sick, reminds me of what they did with Trunks and Pan in GT.

After watching this video, I'm more... cautiously optimistic about how how Daima will play out. Granted, I'm more interested in what the deal is with those two mysterious figures who might be from the Demon Realm than I am the gimmick of Goku and co. turning into kids, but whatever.

i personally feel like the wish wasnt just made to turn them all into kids but it was to get them back in time (what makes me think this might be true is demon king piccolo)

I like the way this video was put. I wasnt overly exited for diama, but this made me exited now that i know its going to have a lot of story to it.

I distinctly remember Mr.Popo sending Goku back in time to meet young man Roshi, he very much had hair!

The fact carthu went from a couple hundred to almost 1m subs is crazy. I remember back in middle school when unrealent shouted him out for a vid he did. Great job bro💪🏾

Your theories and your observations here are probably more spot on than you think they are @carthusdojo. I mean everything you’re saying does make sense. I do believe that this show will fit in the canonical timeline of Dragonball while having that classic OG Dragonball feel to it. I also can’t imagine this series will be super long either. This series may just be a fun entry in the timeline that will satiate our Dragonball appetite for when Dragonball Super actually continues in anime form. Right now, the Manga is still going and we are close to reaching the events that took place in the DBS:Super Hero movie. The manga may even go beyond the events of the film as well who knows. I just think Akira, Toyotaru, & Toei animation want plenty of groundwork laid before they continue the anime. That’s my theory anyways.

On 10:25 , we only see that Kibito is wearing a Potara on his right year, and Shin on the left. Now they could have shown them looking shocked directly into the camera but the way they're looking at each other and the Potara are on the alternate ears suggests that they're were still fused just a moment ago.

5:35 wrong, they have 4 earings in total, they didn't unfuse, they were already unfused, i think this show is at least after U6 vs U7 arc. When goku saw them unfused in U6 vs U7 arc he was surprised and didn't mention anything about seeing them getting unfused in other moment from before. So U6 vs U7 was the first time goku ever saw them unfused after buu saga.

Hey amazing video :) I do agree with most of your points except the timeline of the anime. I do think it takes place within the super continuity as a side story, similar to Obi-Wan, Mandalorian. My guess, it takes place after Super hero before the next unannounced arc :)

the name Daima also points to Demons with common meanings of Dai being Great and Ma being Evil/Magic/Demon hence why Piccillo is also known as Ma/Ma jr This may also be used to explain why Mai, Shu and Pilaf were deaged they got caught up in this wish but never were restored.

Late reply, but that last part is not exactly true. In Battle of Gods, Mai mentioned that the reason they were de-aged was that Pilaf made a wish for them to be younger, but Shenron de-aged them into babies as a result of not specifying the target age.

Something you didn't mention is that in the shot of Kid Chi Chi and Kid Bulma, there are adults in the background. Initially I assumed the wish would effect everyone on Earth but this proves it only focuses on a batch of important characters. I'm also intrigued by the fact that Korin seems unaffected, if it was a wish that turned all the characters into children why was it so specific as to who it actually worked on. My current working theory is that it only impacted people who were actually seen in the Buu saga, so people like Korin are safe.

I won't Carthu I would love for this series to be after Super Hero but before the final chapters as deaging thing can explain the inconsistent with Bulmas age how she looks way younger than her EoZ so I think when they get back their ages. They will look like their EoZ selves...

While I’ll say that I’m not huge about the “turning everyone into kids thing” since that’s what I find the most unappealing about GT, I am fairly optimistic about Daima, since from what I’ve seen from comments from Toriyama and staff there’s a lot of passion going into it, wish it wasn’t so far off though…

My problem with GT's de-aging subplot isn't the de-aging itself. It's that it lasts literally the whole series. It would have been better if Goku had gone back to normal after the first arc. Daima is promising itself to be fairly short, so I don't think it will have the same problem.

@@alfalldoot6715 even though there still would’ve been plenty to criticize, I genuinely think there wouldn’t be as strong a disdain for GT if Goku stayed an adult after turning back from SSJ4, even if pretty much everything else about the series was the same otherwise I think “old enough to be a grandpa” Goku turning into a kid and it never being undone is a bigger debuff on the series appeal wise than people think

Absolutely same. I just really dislike that trope and don't find it interesting. So I was bummed to see they're doing it again. Though my biggest problem and why I haven't watched Super is because of how dumb they made Goku. I just hope we can get the competent peaceful warrior Goku back for this one. Like he was on Namek fighting Frieza in the "5 minutes" before it exploded

Hey Carthu just thought of this, if the chibification unfused Kibito Kai then shouldn't Piccolo, Nail, and Kami all be unfused too? Maybe if Kami is separated from Piccolo that could allow for a second set of Dragon Balls belonging to him and not Dende that only grant one wish maybe. Maybe the trailer doesn't show them or maybe I'm wrong.

Maybe shenron got de-aged too and that's why he only offers one wish again. I could think of a few reasons why they might actually be mad at Bulma, especially since she might enjoy the idea of being de-aged and could be tempted to not undo the wish.

The Direction of Dragon Ball Daima is going for was pretty Controversial, But eh, I'll still watch it regardless, because the Demon Realm is very Interesting and it's something that the Main Series has never dived into outside of the Medium like Video Games and Promotional Material.

Hey Carthu I would like to say that if you look at Kabito and Shin they both have the same potara earings on the opposite ear which really supports your theroy of it being before battle of gods.

I'm just very curious, also yea, so far it would make sense to have it between Buu and BoG.

I like to imagine that Zalama is in the Demon Realm, and this is actually post-Super, pre-Maro. Perhaps the wish reversed the age of literally everyone by use of the Super Dragonballs, and Zalama being in the Demon Realm means that he has either the way to reverse the wish or another set of more powerful Super Dragonballs.

People ask for content and when they get content they get mad. I'm so excited for this!!!

I think the reason they’re mad at Bulma is because she probably wished to be young again, or to make EVERYONE young again, and the Dragon misunderstood her, thus turning them into kids.

The dragonballs do allow for staggered wishing, you make one wish and then send shenron off for four months for the balls to recharge. So the last wish being used to turn everyone into children and the threat of having to wait a year isn't crazy.

So if this isn’t hell, then where the hell is it?😂😂😂😂😂

I wonder if this will be a time travel based series like some "what ifs". Also Beerus got sturdy as hell.

He *was* the guy who fought Dabura AND trained with Shin, both of whom are seemingly going to be focal points in this show. Though then again Dragon Ball really likes to forget that Gohan was ever the main protagonist....

Maybe the wish is "Make the Z fighters as they were many years ago", that would explain why Kibito and Shin split and Piccolo's red eyes

9:20 silly comment really. Dragonball Z had blood too. What's edgy about it? Are movies edgy if injured characters lose blood? I would say it's only a natural reaction of the body. I find it edgy when Dragonball characters get battered from pillar to post, crash through rock formations and there's no blood whatsoever.
