the only thing im missing the most is more fights, and battles, its a real miss not to have more npcs be fightable in the open world hubs

Yeah it's really surprising to me that they made the same mistake of not having enemies in hubs after they made so many open world games at this point

I love this game, my only problems are the flight controls and how fast the story moves, but other than that it's amazing!

There’s a ton of exploring to do in everywhere and fun little puzzles hidden everywhere ! If you just B-line it to story mission it does tend to go fast. I took my time and got through the phantom menace in 2 and a half hours !

@@tommychappell6359 I agree and disagree at the same time since every episode was short and didn't have enough levels, not only that.. some scenes aren't playable in every episode (for example: the space battle of Coruscant and Endor, Palpatine's Arrest, the Battle of Takodana (the ship battle), Escape from the Finalizer (Star Destroyer Interior), etc.) and that's REALLY disappointing to me. I feel like every episode should've had 8-10 levels or the levels should've been longer (about 30 minutes long, I think), the story could've been better.

Personally I feel like they could have made better choices on some of the levels. Episode 1 for example had a lot of walking back and forth. Walking to the gungan city only to have to go back to the surface because all the gungans were preparing for the droid invasion really stood out to me. And it was a real shame they skipped a lot of potential levels, such as the opening aerial battle over Coruscant in episode 3.

@@timewarpdrive77 all ive palyed was episode I and that was an absolute mess, so much so that I refunded it, I could not stand how fast paced but also somehow drawn out it was, if they actually added real levels in there, to break up all of that useless walking back and fourth 5 times and some real puzzles I would be fine, but there are multiple points in the story (it felt like 70% of the game) was just going from point A to point B while skipping the useless filler just to have to walk back to where you were and talk to another guy. I want a game not a playable cutscene. There is a good reason this game is 20 usd below average cost, and it stands out like a mangled hand

@@jasonschumacher1412 Yeah... if you're gonna play a lego SW game, just go play TCS... Its got more content, costs you 50 bucks less, and isn't a buggy mess... (not fkin dlc on a 60 dollar game) The graphics are old, but its still good.

The lack of important events as levels is a let down tbh. ROTS in particular: no space dogfight, not fighting the chancellor as Windu, a Jedi temple invasion while playing as Anakin (this was just a personal wish of mine). Open world is nice but also wished they had more levels in each movie

This is actually the main gripe I have with the game. The levels are either really short or not that good. I played through the first movie, and so far, I'm pretty dissappointed with them. It's basically a five minute fish chase, a five minute pod race, a twenty minute Maul fight (this one is great, I wish every level was like this one), a ten minute battle and a ten minute ship battle. There isn't much to do if you just follow the main story, and it only gets interesting if you go out the main path, which is not that bad. So far, liking it, but the levels are bringing it down

They had to compress the game; because you'd be stuck for a long time. Granted I want to be stuck in a level for an hour plus I can see why they compressed it and cut some content

@@itsharibonph I mean, I don't think you'll be "stuck", I think that they wanted to make the most complex combat and open world systems in a Lego game and then they realized they had to make levels, and if they made all of them the game would come even later and people would be mad, so they cut a lot of stuff. That's probably why some levels are clearly better than others, they were made with time and effort and the rest to meet the release date

Honestly I’m not surprised that this game is a success. Tt games has always given us great Lego video games. I mean just look at the Lego Incredibles, LOTR, the Hobbit. I played them and they’re Great! Honestly I can say that every single Lego video game ever made is a solid 10. I still remember playing Lego Star Wars 1 when I was a kid. Lol 😆. It’s really cool that the companies that handle these Lego games really do care about the product and the customers. Also we need A Star Wars battlefront Lego game lol 😆

I really want that final DLC that we were going to get before EA cut the live service. I think it was going to be Padme and Ahsoka with a Corasant(I forgot how to spell that) and the villains would be Ventress with jango Fett or cad bane. Obviously I know that EA is going to avoid that idea but I’m just saying that It would be cool if that happened.

@@Steel-101 Ah, yeah I'm still waiting for a lot of things. 1. Heroes/villians: Ahsoka, Padme, Ventress, Mace Windu, etc. 2. Maps: Corusaunt, Mustafar, Dagobah, etc. 3. Modes: Hero Hunt, Walker Assault, More options when playing (such as choosing which age, map, etc. In modes like galactic assault) 4. Better & More interesting campaign, like, Jedi: Fallen Order level campaign.

I just really miss the massive battles that Lego Star Wars 3 had where there were just hundreds of droids too battle at a time which helped put me in the situation and really bring the world too life. Idk might just be the nostalgia of that.

If the quality of this game surprises you, then you haven’t been paying enough attention to TT Games over the last 15 years. This is a continuation of an incredible legacy.

Been playing LEGO games ever since star wars came out for ps2 and to see TT pull of these new ideas wow i gotta say y’all had me crying to see that intro knowing that it’s been over like 10 years 😩😩

I’ve been absolutely loving this game so far. The only main issues I really have is how they’ve cut down the cutscenes as much as they could, and the missed opportunities for some great levels. When Qui Gon first encounters Maul, it would’ve been the perfect moment to introduce the player to the lightsaber duel mechanics without it being too long of a fight. And it was a shame that we couldn’t get a level to play as Padme and retake the Theed Palace. It seems strange that they’ve traced over these moments in the films and instead make levels like trying to find Finn some clothes to wear.

I agree. I’ve only played episodes 1 and 2 so far (and am loving the game) but I’ve noticed that they haven’t quite struck the balance between cutscenes and gameplay. Was really disappointed when qui gon and maul was reduced to a cutscene. And with padme retaking the palace I feel like if that were included it could have been an introduction to blaster gameplay. Because having played through the first two episodes, so far I’ve only had one blaster encounter

@Mestrix I agree, it's REALLY disappointing that certain scenes in each episode aren't playable, it would've been great if the ship battle of Coruscant, Endor and Takodana were playable, the story and some of the cutscenes felt rushed, it could've been better. The only episode that was perfect (so far) was Episode 4: A New Hope, in my opinion.

Where are the enemies!?!? The should quadruple the amount of enemies. It feels like a running simulator to get to the next cut scene.

The only level that felt lacking to me was the Mustafar duel. Kind of disappointed Player 2 doesn't play as Anakin, along with constant cuts away from the duel as C3PO and R2 to justify it. Other than that the game's been really good!

This really disappointed me. In co op you spend half the fight as r2 or c3po just watching the fight

Liking the game so far my only issue is how short some of the story missions and how major events are skipped over or reverted to cutscenes

This game would be 10/10 if it had online co-op. Can't comprehend why they would sack that.

I think he was hoping to get a star wars game with a similar tone to Jedi Fallen Order, but because it was a lego game, it was impossible. Because it's a LEGO game. I personally really enjoy the Skywalker saga and I think that the "child like" comedy lego games have is really well done. There's not so much that it becomes overpowering and there isn't too little that the game stems too far from what a lego game is supposed to be.

I would SERIOUSLY dig a series on this game, because honestly hearing your insights and being able to watch someone else enjoy it other than myself would be incredible.

Even though this game makes fun of star-wars a lot, somehow it feels like one of the most respectful to star-wars experiences you can have.

The amount of sand jokes is legendary. For one of the episode 2 levels, when I logged off and logged back on, there was a title screen to remind me of the story so far. They said “Anakin had a terrible nightmare about sand, and a worse one about his mother. They return to Tatooine and their worst fears are realized as the planet is still covered in sand.”

I wish there were random enemy encounters in some of the open areas to make the traveling more exciting and for an excuse to use the combat system more, but other than that, I'm loving this game!

In mos espa there’s one if you go inside a building and the alarms won’t stop going off and enemies won’t stop spawning i think I need a protocol droid to stop it

Yes I've noticed myself saying that I wish they put more enemies randomly on the map to give me a reason to look at my lightsaber 🤣😭

It has its issues but as a whole it's definitely a good game . I think it's clear that some story's/episodes/missions got more time and love than others and it would have been nice if the flight controls were more customisable specifically spinning and turning but other than that I think it's great

I know Right the lightsaber combat and fights are fast and fun

As someone who was really hyped for this game because I love Star Wars and used to play TCS so much when I was younger and even now and then, I am kinda sad about something with this game. Excluding the flight controls feeling finicky, my three main gripes with this is: Lack of Cutscenes/Playable Moments, Sorta Strays from Lore & Kid Oriented. TCS had a level design where you move between levels by going through a door, and it will have somewhat important parts of the movie in it that you could play. This game has changed that a lot and rather has open styled world where you need to move to the next area to start it, allowing for exploration while you there. This is nice, however, the actual missions are relatively short and miss a lot of the main parts. For instance being able to fight darth maul as QGJ on Tatooine would have been really fun, but that kinda made that a cutscene. Or as Obi Wan going to talk to Yoda about Kamino being 'gone on the map' and allowing younglings to learn, which also leads me onto my next point. Yoda coming up to Obi Wan in the library to explain to him in exposition was kind of a let down. It was a really nice moment in the movie where Obi Wan needed help, and went to talk to the wise teacher, Yoda. Yoda then allowed youngling to voice their opinion on why it's gone, allowing them a chance to feel useful, which I really enjoyed in the movie. Also Obi Wan as a character was not egotistical like the game portrays of him when Yoda tells him why he's missing it, and then throwing a fit. I get that Lego games aren't meant to take themselves seriously, which is fine, I don't have a problem for that, but I do wish they tried to keep a bit of the lore/personality somewhat loyal, because it just felt very annoying and started to make me disinterested. Another one was where you needed to help Dex by serving customers, when does this happen, and why does this make sense for a JEDI to do. Thirdly, the game is very kid oriented. I get that this game should appeal to a wide range of audiences, including kids, because they will enjoy it the most next to nostalgic fans. However, making the game too kid oriented has ruined some of the things, including basic mechanics, straying from the lore to increase the funny meter to help keep kids entertained, and the simplicity of puzzles. I wish they added more things that a Star Wars fan could enjoy. For instance, on Coruscant one of the bricks requires you to line up Statues in front of the picture, this is a really visual thing and doesn't require you to work anything out. However, what they could've done is had the primary protagonist, antagonist or prominent character that only shows up in each of the different episodes, and you had to line up the right statues to the right movie. This just gives the people that know star wars lore some fun because it requires thinking, not brainless uses. Also, the lack of building. I only remember building one thing in all of the Phantom Menace story, which was to open an area. Why? This is a CORE ASPECT OF LEGO. The entirety of the franchise is built around building, why would you limit it so heavily?

I do want to add that the statue puzzle have in the jedi temple have two different answers. One where you do have the line up with the picture, and another that involves listening to a story, and being able follow the events of the story and line the statues up in the order of the story. But it would have bee cool if they had a third answer like what you recommended.

Yeah I just finished episode 1 and I feel like they focused to much on the open world aspect of planets and not enough on the actually levels of each movie. I miss when lego games were a bit more basic honestly. I feel like Lego Marvel 1 probably had the best balance between a nice open world and good level design on the actual levels.

I actually dont like that the missions are that short. They skipped a lot of stuff like the opening of episode 3 or the mace sidious fight, the last one i kinda get bc it wasnt in the original

The last one I don’t get because of the same reason. Kashyyyk really wasn’t important to the story. The Kashyyyk level should’ve been replaced by a Chancellor Boss fight. That level didn’t serve any purpose to the story at all. During the cutscene after Mace’s death they showed Order 66 all around anyways, you can take the whole level out and not miss anything

My main issue with this is some of the cutscenes feel a bit rushed or the cut out memorable moments for a quick bit of shtick. I know its a LEGO game and that's what it does. Overall, I LOVE this game and they knocked it out of the park.

Same age idk if I should get this game as lego games are super easy making it boring

I haven't kept up with this game's marketing at all, but I played the original 3 games a ton as a kid. I was definitely not expecting a fully realized open world RPG out of a Lego Star Wars game. I do feel like the main story is super rushed, I suppose they assume players will break every single object and talk to every single NPC, and I definitely am doing that. I do wish they wouldn't have removed so much of the main story content from the original games.

For anyone who's arrived at episode 6, unfortunately for the speeder bike chase on Endor you have to activate the homing shots, otherwise it's impossible to hit your shots and eventually the map will run out and you'll be forced to restart the mission

I like the game, it's a lot of fun. It's a little too easy and doesn't really require much skill or learning... which makes it fun but I think it could be improved a lot if it was just a bit more challenging to win.

About the challenge, ima be real that's just a lego game to me: a fun and charming but not really challenging experience. I guess i play lego games because i like lego and i like their humor and seeing stories revolving around the funny bricks including stories I have seen and liked.

Actually for me that's a selling point. I don't have a lot of time and close to zero experience with game pads. I like easy games where I can have fun while enjoying a good story and not getting stuck.

yes. we need a realistic star wars game... Fallen order etc is decent. But we need a realistic one with the old movies.

I like the revamped missions and new story points that weren’t in the old games, but I also really miss the old levels. In attack of the clones when you fly the gun ship and blow up the droid control centers was one of my favorite missions of all time and I was rather bummed that it didn’t make into this one. Other than that I’m really happy with this game.

Definitely an incredible game I just wish there were more levels in each episode. There were some moments like fighting grievous on his ship that felt like missed opportunities. I wish they would’ve taken even more time if we could’ve gotten more levels in each episode

For me I was always going to get it for nostalgia, I will say I’m glad they delayed it. The wait was annoying sure, but I know that games take a long time to produce and well we all know what happens if games get rushed *cough EA cough*. I’m pleased with it, frame rate on Xbox one split screen is a bit of a yikes but then again it’s completely fine and understandable. Glad to see you’ve had a positive experience with it and will be looking forward to more videos on it!

As someone who played all the Lego Star Wars games this new one is perfect.

You're a good man TheOzzyJedi, and you're a good friend to this community. Im glad you came around to this game in the end, its bloody fantastic. A few gripes like not a lot of action moments (so far, only completed ep 1 and 2 so far) i hope that picks up as i keep playing. But honestly im loving the exploration and collectables. For a star wars mega-fan its a dream come true

I bought it and then realized there's no character customization which is basicly why i play lego games, try unlock all characters to have more parts to create my own unique characters. It looks great and plays well but if i knew beforehand there was no character customization i probably wouldnt have bought it so fast. Ofcourse its my fault for not looking it up but i really expected this to have the best customization yet. Really bummed out about it and i really hope it comes later on.

I got so bored I could not finish ep 2, cut scene 5 min, game play 3 min, walking sim 5 min back to step one cut scene 5 min, this is such a trash game due to pacing, oh and did I mention that it skips all the good parts of the movie. Glad you are enjoying it however for me it is the worst lego game ever made, only things it has going for it are graphics and smoothness! apart from that it is a boring soulless game.

Bought the game on realese and played it as soon as I got home from work and I love it. I played the Complete Saga so much as a kid. What suprised me most with Skywalker Saga was how much content it is in the game and how well it followed the movies. I havent really watched anything from this game at all only that it was delayed for so long and that it was a open world game. But this game blew my mind, there is so much content, so much to do. I didnt have my expectations to high, I thought that was gonna play just a remake with an ok open world option to, all I hoped was to feel nostalgic, but I was so wrong. Not only do I feel the nostalgia from my childhood but I feel like im playing a complete new game an not just a remake. Plus the open world is amazing and has so much content TT has done an amazing job with this game. They have always made great lego games but this has to be best. They really used how long we have come with games to their advange with both graphics and oportunities that we have now with games. The only thing I couldnt handle was the mumble mode, even though I played the Complete Saga. I love the fact that you have options to have it, which shows the love and care for this game to the fans who played Complete Saga, but there was a bit to much mumble for me, plus the fact that they have the so many Voice Actors from CW is just beautiful to listen to.

I don't know, man.. the story felt rushed considering that some scenes in each episode aren't playable (for example: the space battle of Coruscant and Endor, the battle of Takodana (ship part), Palpatine's Arrest, etc.). Not only that, some of the cutscenes felt rushed too, they had too much humor in them, especially during the serious ones and some of them were TOO fast-paced for their own good. So far, the only episode that was perfect was Episode 4: A New Hope, in my opinion.

@@DarkShadowX9 You make good points there my friend, I have felt a bit of rushed moments. I havent played to much yet, I just started with epiosde 2 but I did feel a bit of it in episode 1. When it comes to the humour, it may be a bit much like you said but I dont have any deep problems with that considering its a Lego Game so I dont mind. If I want it to be seriour I would just watch the movies instead, but thats just my opinion. The scenes that are aren"t playable I haven goten so many of them that I feel frustrated about. But overall im really enjoying the game so far, the only major problem I feel and that just may be is that sometimes the frames is droping but that may just be me being paranoid about stuff like that. I got a lot more from this game that I asked for, especially with the open world bit and how much more I could play from the movies and how well they showed the important scenes from the movies even though they can be a bit fast paced sometimes.

I would really like to see huge battlefront like battles you could do in this game after the story. It would be awesome to have battles like this with huge battlefields and hundreds of battle droids

The only thing that really disappointed me about this game was the fact they completely cut the Battle over Coruscant and just didn't even care to add it in.

Loving the game. It’s so fun to play and takes everything that was great about the complete saga and improved it. Something that bothers me about the game is how short the actual levels are. I feel like too much of the movies are in free play. Like the boss fight with jango fett was free play so if I want to play that again I’ll have to restart attack of the clones. For me, most of my enjoyment from lego games comes from replaying the levels. But the free play is so fun in the skywalker saga that it hardly bothers me There’s also too much of the movies reduced to cutscenes. Would have loved to play qui gon vs maul on tatooine

so glad that there were no plot twists in this game’s development cycle. a couple delays, sure, but it ended up being about as good as it was hyped up to be

Strangely one thing I think is missing from this game, apart from more battles is a sandbox mode where you could play with the games assets and characters to create scenarios, would fit the LEGO theme of building toysets and stuff like that.

I've only seen some clips over the last couple days, and did not have any expectations. I played lego games years ago and enjoyed them. But the last one I had time for was the first marvel superheroes release. So seeing this now is surreal for me. Its uncanny the range of movement and expressions these characters are making. With this voice acting. This might even be a better star wars experience than the films.

I only don't like the fact that you can't create your own character like in LEGO Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars.

The Originals and Sequels levels were definitely more complex.

When he mentioned BF2 being 5 years old I couldn't believe that much time has passed sine it dropped.

Lol, 2 interesting lines I noticed when playing on free roam were - Qui Gon saying that Anakin may have been right about the Jedi, and Anakin's line on Mustafar about "My powers have doubled since the last time we were here"

I definitely got the BF2 vibes while on Takodana lol. Playing BF2 actually helped me locate myself during The Skywalker Saga

honestly lego has made the best open world, sandbox games of any of the franchises theyve made games for. Literally this is the best open world star wars game. As a kid, i thought the same of the complete saga. Games like jedi fallen order take the same amount of hits to kill minions. so the only real difference is the character models. All the lego batman games are the best DC heroes open world game. And before the arkham games, i'd argue they were the best batman games. Now, the only thing keeping it from being the best imo is the combat isnt as in depth as arkham. but the open worlds are on par. It's the best harry potter games and piratess of the caribbean. Ihonestly believe this is true for all the lego games. So i really dont understand why people act like lego games are bad just cause it has lego in the title. Im glad this youtuber changed his mind and is strong enough to admit he was wrong :)

The issue with the flight controls is that they're on the wrong stick. I feel like if I could control pitch and yaw on the right stick and roll and vertical movement on the left it would feel considerably better. That how I have my control scheme set in Elite Dangerous and I find it very intuitive.

The ratings on this game are mixed for one reason. Open-World Games are very give or take. Some people like linear games, others prefer the more open gameplay. In the past most LEGO Games are mainly linear when it comes to gameplay. I think several people wanted a remastered complete saga, and when the new features and steps were taken they didn’t like it and took to calling it a bad game. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but please make sure you remember your opinion is not fact! The only main complaints I have are the lack of Clone Wars and Custom Characters. Also, I will admit, some of the levels do feel a bit short which is most likely a sacrifice to make the open world larger.

I think most of the cons I have about this game relate to the co op. I play it with my older brother and we’re both very used to Lego games and games in general. It caused a lot of points in the story to feel anticlimactic because we would be doing twice the damage to bosses than the game was designed for us to do. So the darth maul and jango fights felt like a minute long when they should’ve been more expansive. It was literally harder to kill the taxi thief than jango. I think they need to allow for difficulty settings or at least double boss health in co op mode

They're fine but they're still wack. Simply put throttle should've been on the right stick.

The jango space fight, and anakin and obi fight had game breaking glitches where i had to restart the boss fights. The annoying parts were that i was near the end on both. But that doesn't take away how much i do love this game

It's such an incredible game, Ive only had 2 bugs happen to me so far and it was just the camera getting stuck after it shows the objective

I guess I need to get this. This is where the fun begins.

I love the flying. It’s so smooth. The only problem I have is there’s not a lot of building

I love the game, but I’m just disappointed In a few things, i love how you can overthrow ships and control them such as the death star but at the same time i wish you could overthrow some of the “good guys” ship, for example The Resolute, it would’ve been so cool to overtake it as a sith, and some iconic characters are missing too especially in the clone wars saga, i hope they add a dlc in the future that will fill this gap.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody actually play their custom character or even mention the character customization in any Lego game before. The most everyone does it make a custom character and never play that character, this is so far the only thing I can find people complaining about and it makes zero sense whatsoever, custom characters is such a simple and unimportant thing imo.

@@PastPositive you definitely don’t speak for the masses and are wrong about it in general, I’ve seen plenty of people actually use the customization in the games and especially for a game like this, customization would let you get involved in the world on a smaller level than the main characters while still being able to partake in an interesting narrative, such as the many side quests. Idk about you but hunting down Aurra Sing for Jocasta was not as fun with bounty hunters that would definitely never do it See exhibit A, lego DC supervillains where you literally get to make a character and use that character in story, not saying it has to be the same but just having the ability to make one has always been appreciated and the removal doesn’t quite make sense when it’s always so well received

I loved the part when mace cuts bobas balloon off and ot flies away and to add the little detail for the balloon to still be flying away after that seen was perfect

Absolutely loving it, as I expected to. The best parts for me are the attention to detail (for example, Grogu’s pram slamming shut when Din enters combat) to the humorous way the stories we all know so well are retold in LEGO.

I think the Jango Fett Slave I level in Attack of the Clones was when I realised how wack the flying was. I like couldn't comprehend the 3D space I was in and how do it, it got a bit easier with time though.

If I were to Give a small con to this game, is that they cut certain scenes and make the cutscenes happen to quickly. But I don't think anyone will really have a problem with that. I'm just saying, it would be nice to see lengthier cutscenes.

Yeah facts it just seems like Anakin just turns to darth Vader with a flip of a switch. And they barrel through padme and anakins relationship in attack of the clones.

I think I am mildly disappointed by the game overall just because I really liked how story missions played out in previous Lego Star Wars games as opposed to how they play out in this one. However it's hard to hate on it too much with the level of detail they put into the world's.

yeah i totally agree, its difficult to pinpoint what i dont like about the story missions but if i had to put my finger on one thing its probably how quickly the cutscenes and story are, for example the windu v palpatine duel was a 10 second cutscene

It would've been great if the ship battle of Coruscant, Endor and Takodana was playable, but some levels in each episode were perfect, in my opinion. So far, the entirety of Episode 4 was perfect, in my opinion.

@@JobyDoby yeah it's like they took the mini games from the previous Lego games and decided to make them the entire experience for the story missions. Which I don't know about you but the mini games in Lego games for me personally were my least favorite part. Also yeah they just amounted to being like these short 5 to 10 minute experiences. Definitely ambitious in some aspects but somehow less ambitious in others than prior games. It just leaves me feeling very mixed.

The game is awesome, and I’m 50 yrs old gamer, I love how they took the puzzles and not force them on you to progress love it!! You do what you want, and it’s busting with content!!!!

The flying is almost exactly like No Man’s Sky, except rotating your ship is a pain with the camera control rotating your ship. I with the bumpers weren’t for dodging but were for rolling softly instead

Hey man, I only started at Episode IV to get the max nostalgia factor. Wanted to experience it the same way I experienced the movies. This game honestly makes me feel like a kid again and that makes me so happy. I played Complete Saga religiously growing up so this really scratches an itch I think I forgot I had.

Same here. I wanted to play them in order of release. I was tempted to start with Ep1 cause I want to unlock all the Jedi but I couldn’t resist going to the OT first cause those are my favorite films.

Well you have sorely underestimated the immense Lego community that's formed over the decades then. Tons of people love the Lego games, especially Lego Star Wars, including myself. Entire generations grew up on those games and Lego Star Wars especially have always been hailed in the gaming community as some of the best set of games ever made. It's literally no surprise why Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga got so much hype these past couple years leading up to now. "Are there times where I wished the childish nature of a Lego game wasn't so...in your face? Yeah, sure." I mean...to be fair, Lego is a property that has always been geared towards kids while always somehow managing to appeal to all other ages, including adults being more than welcome to join in on all the fun as well. It's the same exact thing as Star Wars. George himself has always intended the franchise to be for 12 year olds after all. "These movies are made for children, but they don't wanna admit that." -- George Lucas. And besides, the overtly childish nature of Lego is all part of the fun and one of the core appeals of that whole entire franchise of Lego games. It's nice to just sit back, relax and just have fun with something and not be so serious all the time, like what the Joker from the Dark Knight once said lol. Because, after all: "Adults are kids grown up anyways." -- Walt Disney. "And it's made that much better that this game's graphics are so impressive considering it has the Lego game art style, I guess you could say." And I don't mind that one bit! Sure, it's partially because I've grown up with the Lego games, so I have some inherent bias for this style but even in general, this style is a LOOT of fun and has always been glorious in it's own right. After sooo many years, realistic-styled games become boring and tedious--don't get me wrong though, I still LOVE them and they're still incredibly gorgeous and boundary-breaking in their own rights!!! But I love to shake it up every now and again with some fun and uniquely boundary-breaking visuals that are the Lego Star Wars games! Nothing wrong with branching out from the norm and creating an absolute plethora of beautiful and highly stylistic visuals among various games--including the Lego Star Wars games!! :D "The fact that I and a lot of people can come out of playing The Phantom Menace episode of the game and have such glowing thoughts is a testament to this game. Because it's not exactly secret knowledge that it's not the best Star Wars movie." Nor is it the worst lol. This may be a highly subjective point, but I really do believe that TPM doesn't deserve all the hate it gets. Many fans love that movie, including myself. And it's gotten wide appreciation over the years from the larger fandom--especially from the younger generations, like my own, who are now grown up enough to voice their own opinions of the galaxy far, far away! And for crying out loud, The Phantom Menace literally got it's own panel at Star Wars Celebration 2019 in Chicago! And thousands attended it to celebrate it's 20th anniversary! It's a damn good movie and, as a little kid (and even a teen too!!), I always had SO much fun with George Lucas's modern day, sleek TRAILBLAZER of a movie ALONGSIDE it's Lego depictions of it in all the Lego SW games that it was featured in. Most of it's visuals hold up STILL to this day. It's bloody gorgeous, I'm not sorry. 😌🙏💝

i never understood why george thinks star wars was only for kids... i see nothing about it that wouldnt be just a movie for everyone. My first Lego Star Wars game was The Original Trilogy for the GameCube. So I had to start with episode 4. Currently on empire strikes back and I'm loving this game so far

It is said that if you live long enough you will see history repeat its self. The complete saga used to be the best Star Wars game available and now 20+ years later the Skywalker Saga has proudly and undoubtedly taken that title with honour!!

There's really just 3 things I dislike: 1. You cant create your own character. 2. The story feels rushed, probably because they've put a lot of time and effort in the combat mechanics. 3. The boss fights are really easy you can just spam the jump Melee attack

The character creator isn't in it!? That was what got me into Lego Stars Wars many, many years ago.

Very impressed by what they accomplished. I do have a problem with the fact that missions seem entirely based around one short scene or thing that happened in the movie. Like a single page of a book. I know you get to do a bit of the stuff outside of the linear mission itself. But compared to the intricate level design and puzzles from the old style games. I hate to say it, but they do lack. Ill say Ive only completed episode I so far but I doubt they're going to have the formula changed going forward. The other gripe would be that the actual puzzles we do get seem completely mindless. Perhaps its the fact that Im not a kid anymore but putting glowy brick into circuit to open a door being the extent of the puzzle complexity just seems uninspired. I get the feeling the game is aiming at almost no lower age limit. Where as the originals were geared to challenge 6yo, This one probably wouldnt phase a 4yo if you pointed them in the right direction.

The older player challenge seems to be based on Free Play mode and collection completion.

I did not expect to have as much fun as I have playing this game, it really like you said, broke the barriers and almost went beyond a lego game, this is the kind of Star Wars games I was hoping for

i like the original saga more beacuse it was more darker and accurate to the films than this one, this one is only meant to be funny for kids and thats it

I absolutely loved Lego Star Wars 1 and 2 but never played the complete sega tho but this was kinda disappointing for me like I loved the game and the humour but having no difficulty setting and being all kid friendly and not letting the people who played the old Lego games have a bit of challenge so we the old people have fun as well and not get bored after episode 6 and having no motivation to even touch 789.

Ehh I'm 50/50 I've had some errors and bugs myself. A character I'm supost to follow be stuck, pressed A too fast to skip over palplys dioluge about taxis and whoops cameras fixed on where he was standing. Or the find the tiny trigger near jar jar and stumps to go to the lake not just like... walking deeper into the lake

@@OverdriveFilms19 I've been playing with more exploration In mind, I wanted to start in cronological order to get jokes If they did something like call backs that they specifically make (like the "not dead" characters from the jurasic park games stuck on the island in some of the world cutscenes)I'm only about to start ep 3 but have ep 1 70%done and 2 60% (need Scavanger gear and to get the mission challenges cause I don't buy hints, saving up for that sweet 2x and further)

Its also nice that ground slam with jedi doesnt one shot EVERYTHING like it did in complete saga

my issues came when the mid level cut scene wouldn't cue or I had to quit the level and restart the mission or going to a area to progress the story would happen. my only con was that the massive battles weren't as good as they were in the clone wars game I just love those battles and the ones in this feel very lack luster. battle of Naboo had me upset since it was the first episode I played. Other than that I loved the game and now just gonna go get those capital ships haha

I’m disappointed with how little diversity there is between the characters. I think each one should have a special ability of sorts. I understand that each character class plays differently, but all Jedi play almost the same for example.

@@PastPositive Every Jedi and Sith have unique force abilities…Rey could force heal, Anakin could see force premonitions, Vader could force choke, Palpatine could use force lighting, Mace Windu could channel both the light and the dark side, Cal Kestis could use force echo…should I go on? THIS is the way it’s always been. They could have implemented these abilities, take Darth Sidious for example, they could have given him sustained force lighting by holding down a button but instead it’s relegated to a short animation during a combo.

This game was done so well. I literally felt like a kid again playing the first lego Star Wars game ever. I love it I just miss the old missions that occasionally had tou play as a dark side Character. I also wish there was more of a reason to use them other than just oh they are evil and have a red lightsaber and npcs run away, they are essentially just jedi in this one

I haven't heard many people talk about this maybe cause its so small but the fact that all (or at least every single one I have done idk if its all) of the side quests / talking bits with npc's is voice acted like thats crazy, yea theres a lot of the same voices for it but still thats crazy no games I play does that with side missions i love that. The only real thing that I really wish was a feature was a way to make the boss fights like super hard, I know it doesn't make sense for a lego game but like how awesome would it be if there were setting to make it where if you die in a boss fight you lose studs and have to redo the fight, and the bosses did more damage or something to make the whole fight feel more impactful and make it more that you don't want to die, I think that would be the coolest thing ever for me personally.

I can totally agree on that Jar Jar mission dragging on a tiny bit much and being really boring. Also, destroying the droid ship as Anakin as a kid was a PAIN in my ass.

It's a great game and really shows the amazing attention to detail and the star wars universe. My only gripe is that the missions (not the open world), especially in comparison to the complete saga, did not feel as well constructed or long enough. I also wish there was some sort of difficulty setting to make the game more challenging for an older audience.

I also love the game. The most annoying glitches I had was going through Free Mode and 2 times getting stuck outside the boss area in a void, so I had to restart the chapter all over.

I am so in love with this game! There is so many things to explore and characters to play. My only things about this is that I have experience a few glitches where (like you said) the screen just went black and I had to restart. Also I feel some of the levels are a little short, while others are perfect length.

Going from 6 levels per film actually took out a lot of creative room for them in regards to retelling the story. That, and I feel like all the boss fights were too easy. I get that its a kids game, but I wish there was a hard mode. All the bosses used the same moves. Edit: Flight controls on PC are really wonky, too. My ship "sticks" to a specific direction, and I know its a deliberate mechanic to make turning easier, but it happens in the middle of space battles. It'd be nice to see a small marker for that.

Loving this game. I played the older games growing up and this definitely brings me back. I've also figured out how to break the economy with stud multipliers and capital ship fights... hehehe..

I had the same glitch in the opening part of Naboo when going under water. After I did the level with the fish you start in the city. I got the minikit ship, so I hust trying to switch to that. in the hanger i saw the republic cruiser being replaced by the mini ship. In the city the republic cruiser was in the water (what?). And when i swichted to Qui-Gon i was flying with the republic cruiser flying over the naboo city hitting all kinds of building. Couldnt switch back and needed to close the game fully. That kinda killed the fun a bit, but overall enjoyed so far. Didnt do much, as I just landed with the broken ship on tatooine.

i wish there was a button that put you in the cover system, rather than just getting close to the object

I’ve completed the episodes already but that’s a very tiny amount of what the game has to offer. I’m going to treat it more like the old republic now in that it’s about exploring and getting more stuff. and one of my favourite things is that you can parry attacks from the boss fights as well. And I would like to mention that the prequel era is definitely the best but sequel era follows after that it was really fun and much more adventurous with scavenger rey and the broken Death Star, the original era was good but felt a bit underwhelming because of how good the other two eras are

I love it! I was a bit ambitious hoping it would have that all out war feature that Lego clone wars had, but it’s not a big deal. Not gonna lie, it’s quite overwhelming compared to any previous Lego games
