I’m so proud of you!! Advocating for yourself, fighting for your mental health, trying to stay positive, working with your therapist - you are doing a wonderful job handling such a terrifying situation. I hope this never happens to you again and that you and your family can enjoy a less eventful beach vacation in the future ❤️

Hope you are doing better! I was horrified going into my first EEG when I was 14 for a bunch of reasons. But the women who actually performed the test washed all the gunk out of my hair so kindly and gently afterwards...I still remember that tenderness from a stranger lol it is a very touching memory for me.

What a warrior and inspiration you are! Shout out to your fiancée and mom for being awesome support. Broke my heart to see you going through that. Love to know why you had to fight to advocate for yourself in hospital. I and many others struggle with this all the time. Hope you’re doing well. Sending so much love and spoons! Never lose that fighting spirit!

I have so many disabilities and it is so so hard sometimes. I have POTS, JRA, Chiari malformation, severe anxiety, asthma, depression, and I’m sure so much more they haven’t found. It really really sucks sometimes. I am 13 and half of the time when people want to hang out or do things with me, I can’t. It’s hard being disabled not only the health portion of it but never feeling normal. Always in pain, and never being able to do things normal people can do. I just want one day where I can actually not faint, be in pain, have migraines, and medical burnout. I don’t know why God gave us chronic illness but we’re gonna get through it. I love you Lindsey. Keep fighting! Sending you spoons! 🥄 ❤

I don't want to say it was the same or even similar, but I had a relatable thing happen to me also in October. Went into hospital with what we thought was just a really bad POTS flare that my usual remedies weren't helping and a few hours later I was intubated in the ICU. I too apparently had a spinal tap that I have no recollection of (kinda glad about that) etc. Having family who are by your side and support you makes such a huge difference and I'm sorry that you had to go through such an experience, I get all the emotions and feelings that come with it

As a spoonie these videos are super helpful. Thank you for sharing. I was wondering if you have ever tried ketocal from Nutricia it's a special feeding tube formula for people with medication resistant epilepsy and it can reduce the number of seizures you have. It works really well for me. I hope you are feeling better.

Lindsay, this video was extremely emotional to watch. To realize, through your very scary journey here, just how precious life is. Watching this did, very surprisingly, bring back a lot of memories of my times in the ICU after major surgeries when I was much younger. I don't know how I got through it all. But, those of us with chronic illnesses have a strength within us that is like no other. Sometimes, we have to dig deep to find it but we always seem to. Thank God you are still here. I hope my comment finds you happy, safe and doing much better.

I’m so sorry that you went through this! I love your positive attitude and I am so proud of you for advocating. Because I know that I struggle with that a lot. Thank you for sharing and being vulnerable, because that’s not easy either. Please take all the time that you need to help yourself become and maintain some stability! And I agree eeg hair sucks! (No joke) This video, and knowing that you’re safe, are motivating me to shower today. I’m so thankful that you are doing okay! (And will we ever know what infection/s you had?) Make sure to continue processing and doing self care! Sending lots of love and any spoons that I can share! -Gracie

I am so, so proud of you! I can relate to so much you´re going through unfortunately, thank you again for sharing everything, we appreciate it so much Yes, EEGs are a real struggle, I´ve had quite a few as well,it always takes ages to get everything off🫠 I was in the ER three times last month due to gram neg. bacteremia as well, it feels crazy seeing you going through something so similar I thought it was just my POTS that caused a weird syncope and concussion right before my anesthesia lecture (luckily happened in the hospital, so they just got a stretcher to our lecture hall), 3 days later it turned out it was sepsis, oops🥲 (I´m a med student, fighting to help us spoonies one day at a time) Lots of love from Germany🦓❣

Lindsay is going to die without bypass. I had Mesenteric Artery Stenosis. I lived her life for 2 1/2 years and lost 85 pounds. The day I had bypass I weighted 100 pounds and I’m 5’9. I had a 17% survival rate but I would have died either way if I did not try. I’m now better and stronger than ever. Life doesn’t have to be this hard. Your body is shutting down. Please get the surgery.🙏🏼🙏🏼
