@@chrisi7127 hit and run aka "death by a thousand cuts". The goal is not to out right destroy or overpower the enemy (US's "Shock and Awe") but to whittle them down with both strategic and indiscriminate attacks such as Sabotage , ambushes, traps, petty warfare, and terrorism. The best televised examples are the Viet Cong during the US/Vietnam conflict, and Taliban/Al Queda/ISIS. The VC used the jungle to their advantage, hiding in the dense foliage that was filled with venomous reptiles as well as having an extensive tunnel network they could run to, setting sharpened stick traps covered in fecal matter that may not kill you outright but rather kill you slowly from infection, IEDs inside of dead animals to name a few. As for the terror orgs, pretty much the same thing, traps, ieds, suicide bombers, caves in the desert etc. Although the biggest thing to benefit Guerilla Tactics is the users are usually civilian men, women, and children. A government force couldn't tell who were the enemy until they were being shot at which has a detrimental effect on an individual soldier. Basically an individual soldier couldn't tell if some children were wanting to play marbles with them or trying to lure them into the sight of a sniper, or if a farmer on the side of the road with a broken cart isn't actually planting an IED. The simple fact the enemy was indistinguishable from the civilian population was a big reason why Vietnam Vets were treated so poorly by US citizens when they came home. The Vets didn't know who was who ("if They run they're VC If they don't run they're well trained VC") and just led to it being easy for GI to justify a "mow em down" attitude out of sheer self-preservation which didn't get translated to well when people in the US saw footage of the conflict, because to them GI were just killing innocent Rice Farmers and their families. As for the swede's, I can see how they'd still do the similar hit and run style tactics, but I don't see how they'd develop the same psychological aspect since it's still an actual military force meaning there is a uniform to identify.
“Gentlemen…” 😏 i could hear the smug victory in your voice when you lit them up it was glorious!!! 😂
Y'all should replicate the siege of AN LOC, It was a battle taking place between the North Vietnamese and ARVN forces (the south vietnamese who fought along with the Americans.) My uncle lost his eyes in the battle. he was part of the ARVN 81st airborne ranger battalion who were the best fighters for the south

I first came across both OD and ARMA 3 by watching one of his videos about three months ago that was randomly in my feed on KZread. Ended up getting all the components I would need to build a gaming PC. A week after I finished the build and was playing Arma3 my son wanted to play. So we went back to Micro Center bought all the same components which thankfully they had on hand still and we built his rig. I was always more of a console gamer but haven't touched them since going PC. We both watch your content both to learn and come across new to us games that never had a console port. The learning curve has been kind of a bitch but still very fun. All that cause of a random Operator Drewski video in my feed lol.

Reminds me of Vietnam reenactment I went to and did VC. I'll share a nighttime experience from that one. VC had two different camps and the one I was at was more of a sentry camp with 3 guys, myself included, closer to the GI's camp. VC main camp was really deep in the woods. Our camp got ambushed at night by the GI. The guy on watch duty got capped so me and the other guy, Jerry, grabbed our weapons with anticipation. A storm was on it's way as you can see flashes of lightning and that was the only brief light you got. thankfully my eyes were adjusted to the dark, but it was still hard to see shit. I only had a K98k with four rounds in there. When I heard the gunshots, I just grabbed my rifle and booked it deep into the woods to hide. Didn't have time to grab my ammo or anything else, so if I was found I was fucked. Jerry hid in a bush close to camp with a PPS-43 waiting to spray. Every lighting strike I could see all the shit ton of GI there at our camp. Jerry's gun jammed and he got light up. I just sat there for a couple hours till other VC came to investigate. We then, around like 2 o'clock am, snuck into the GI camp while they were sleeping. We put up a bounty poster of the GI commander and calling cards. The hardest thing we did was to take and put all their guns in a pile in the middle of camp. We gave then GI hell the next couple of days. Can't wait to go back!
I love that even with grenades going off and rockets blowing up all you really can see is a few peaceful bunnies hopping around

That whole action sequence where you went deaf is basically how I live my life nowadays, it activated my own tinnitus lmfao...RIP! But what a cool moment in terms of the gameplay.
