"I was concerned that financial planning would be a sales role. I was wrong!" - Rory Albon

This week Sam is joined by Rory Albon, financial planner at Lyndhurst Financial Management Ltd.
Rory is a second career-ist and today he shares his story of how he got into the financial planning profession. He left a decent career at Amazon and took a pay cut because he saw the long-term benefits that a career in financial planning could offer him and his family.
He goes into depth about taking his exams and tells us exactly when and how he secured his first employed role in the profession. Rory also tells us about the career progression path from Paraplanner to Adviser that was laid out in front of him by his employers and how he took matters into his own hands to speed up the process.
Rory was initially concerned that a role in financial planning would just be a target driven sales role but he is pleased to say that the reality is different to his expectations. Today Rory offers loads of value to all aspiring financial planners so make sure to tune in.
We cover:
Rory’s career journey
How Rory changed careers and made the switch into financial planning
Using your network from your previous career
