If you haven't figured it out by now, if there was no Led Zeppelin, there would be no Tool or any of the other bands that you might recognize that came out in the 80s or later. Before there was Tool there was Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin is foundational to most rock sound since. Elvis Presley met them. Polo --- I have to laugh because you want to think you are in control of the music you BELIEVE you are going to like or not like and that just isn't the case with music that Led Zeppelin created. As Rod Serling creator of the TV show The Twilight Zone says in the intro to the show, You are no longer in control your mind is no longer yours, you've entered The Twilight Zone. I was paraphrasing, not quoting. With Led Zeppelin you are along for a ride and at first you think you don't like it, it's not fun, it's not what you want to hear, but you are already rolling down the pathway and you can't jump off and then that feeling of not liking the ride turns to wonder and then you start to enjoy the ride, you roll the window down and you are moving faster and you want your seatbelt but there is no seatbelt. You are thrilled and laughing at your excitement that you've never been in a vehicle that you are either going to crash and get hurt or you're gonna have the ride of your life if you just take it in and enjoy the ride.

You can tell from their ease in playing it that this song is Zep's stock-in-tade type of noise. They lay it down with such confidence that you can almost physically hear that they know the blues inside out. I wouldn't be surprised if this number took them about 5 minutes to write and perhaps 2-3 takes to record. It just oozes, "this is where I'm at".

Imo there are still much better songs you've not heard yet like Ten Years Gone, Rock And Roll, Heartbreaker, The Ocean, All My Love, Ramble On, Going To California... Ten Years Gone may be the only of their greatest songs you've not heard, no ideia why no one asked you to check it out yet. Also maybe the studio version of Since I've Been Loving You may be interesting to you cause it is very different and much more concise than the live.

The weird thing about LZ is that Page and Jones being studio musicians, they write their songs like kids in the candy store of all music (watch out for Page's record collection in interviews filmed at home) and STILL the result is completely unlike the parts they took and altered. It is no exaggeration to say LZ is not just a band, it's a genre of it's own. That -imho- is what makes them so special, you can hold it against any other music and it will stand out for being different. As for Plant's singing, he sings like a guitar or harmonica would solo.

One of my favourite LZ songs, if nothing else because of the virtuoso performances from all of them and the wonderful changing rhythms.

JPJ and bonham make it so funky. Killing floor is an all time classic blues track that so many bands and artists covered it but Zeppelin tooktit to another level

Yay! another Led Zep review by Polo! You need to review the entire 1st and 2nd album to get your mind blown. Just giving some great advice to you as a Zep fan since 1970. 😊

YES you can do music on a computer but a band on fire just playing, can't be appropriated. JPJ and Bonham were a fabulous RnB rhythm section
