Dell for the pass few years... including their newest Smart shift AMD G5 SE 4800h laptop are all bad engineered designs. New Dell AMD laptops run extremely hot 🔥 hot, their panel ms refresh rate is garbage and they're the slowest AMD laptops. @@BjayawesomeBlackDude Almost all "cutting edge" gaming laptops have major thermal issues. There are a couple standouts out there these days, but by and large thermals in a thin platform are just a big problem. Alienware's thermal design is typically quite good, but the people building their laptops have a bad habit of really caking on the thermal compound, which really ruins it. One of the leading suggestions for new laptop buyers is that they disassemble the laptop, clean off the gratuitous compound, and apply new compound properly. It's a shame, really.

@@HomeworkRadio Sorry, but I'm pretty skeptical of that claim. Reality doesn't back those claims up from plenty of other tests and examples. If you are having these issues, it's because something is wrong with your setup. On top of that, no one under-clocks their video card, because that functionality is built into the card where heat is concerned. If your GPU gets too hot, it will throttle itself down to where it needs to be to maintain healthy thermals. Underclocking a GPU is nonsensical. It doesn't make sense.

@@bluephreakr Yeah I really didn't like it either, it was really unpleasant. It wasn't done in a way that is how perceptual audio works at all, like if in real life you hear a sound to your left side it's not like you don't also hear it in your right ear. I think I'm just going to leave the mono audio setting on in Windows... The only time anything actually does stereo audio properly is in games where it's all positional. Videos almost always do it wrong.

You probably never heard that Asetek was part of the liquid cooling system of the AMD R9 295x2. But because this is clearly an Intel shilled video, every name was dropped except AMD.

@@Supremax67 Man, I have given AMD every dollar when there was a choice except when my first computer used a i5-6600k. Still a team red guy. I don't get the point of going in the comments and calling the dude a shill. They post fair analytics when cpus/gpus get bench marked. Also it would be easier to say they shilled for Nvidia as the whole video was about a rtx 2080. But this does defer from other gpu aio solutions we've seen in its blower design its interesting and as a viewer of LTT content I can sorta bank on them shelling out far to much money to look at some fairly interesting hardware implementations. But all this to say, I hope you are doing well in this time of isolation.

@@garrettparmenter938 -- Nice try, but he goes through the list of Intel, Corsair, Asus, EVGA, HP, MSI, Lenovo, Thermaltake & NZXT. However, he doesn't mention the double GPU AMD graphic card with an integrated liquid cooler designed by Asetek? It was one of the most talked about GPU for its time. Casually omitted? This channel has never been short of showing nostalgic images for references, just not AMD to a very relevant topic?

@jt thorsson The airflow is pretty decent in them. They're set up so the PSU's airflow is in->out, blower style GPUs (which are louder, sure, but good for airflow), top exhaled CPU heat, and a beefy fan in the front to establish some solid intake into the case. It could be better, but it's not nearly as poor as some of the g4m3r cases out there. If you use the default fan curves in afterburner, the GPU fan is a bit on the loud side, but you rarely break 70C on the GPU under full load, which pretty much means that there's a decent amount of cool air entering the case.
