@QE ornotQE You said " her core imperative is to find a mate and become a mother" like you know what's best for her ,life isn't all about breeding , it's the 20th century , women are a lot more then broodmares.They actually contribute to society nowadays PS : She's a doctor , saving lives and all kids included ,definitely not "wasting" her year's, hell if that's a waste I don't even want to know what achieving is.
Come on guys, she's looking after your dying family member with compassion and knowledge. She's worked hard since she was in school, she's bright and caring and deserves better than "better marry her quick", "get a prostate exam off her". As a female doctor I can say these comments don't stop on the internet, they happen at work too, even of you mean them to be a compliment they feel quite degrading.

@RS2002 do understand you're wrong. This is a great yardstick, I live in society as a female & this is life. You probably normalise what you overhear in men's bathrooms or parties & the workplace & just switch off. You also likely have no idea what women have to put up with & who knows maybe you're part of the problem & don't know it.

Stumbled upon this video and was mesmerised. What an amazing young woman ... and there are many others like her. Unfortunately there are also some in the medical profession who could learn a lot from her, in spite of her youth and inexperience. Compassion, empathy, understanding ... as someone with a chronic illness and who's been in hospital too many times to count, I would have loved her to have been my doctor. Strangely, the one thing that brought tears to my eyes was when she spoke to her family on the other side of the world. To leave everything she knew and loved to follow her dream .... that's true commitment ... 💜💙

Trish Chester I think most doctors and those working in a hospital are just like her, she is new and inexperienced and has not had to deal with the insane amount of pressure and hard work for long, not everyone can be 100% nice 24/7
@trishchester5796
4 жыл бұрын
@@emilyhobbs2588 Of course ...I agree it would be unrealistic to be like that 24/7. I think you possibly missed my point. I don't expect hardworking medics to always be upbeat at all ... with the amount of time I've spent in hospitals I know all about the hours, overtime, long shifts etc. HOWEVER Nobody has the right to take out their frustration with working conditions on those they care for ... that applies to all professions and walks of life. Pointing out their pressures simply provides a reason but it should NOT be an excuse .... Just my opinion ...

On my final nursing placement, an FY1 was gonna take a sample of fluid from a knee joint and my mentor mentioned i should ask if I could watch. The doctor said of course, but actually I'm just going to read the guidelines/instructions one more time before I go in. It gave me a lot of confidence that no, the doctors don't know everything, the responsible thing to do is to check the criteria beforehand, rather than guess, and if necessary, ask someone to watch you. That way you learn the skills and the patient gets the correct up to date health care they need.

What a gem. She will make a wonderful doctor.
Oh my gosh how adorable she is💚
4.00 is the defining moment for me as to why she is an amazing junior doctor. To be able to push everything aside, mentally, to go to the aid of an individual who isn't in any pain and is just annoyed because they've been waiting for a long time because the doctors have had to visit more life threatening illnesses and injuries, and to be able to apologise and show understanding an empathy in the way she did, that is extremely difficult, because humans usually only have so much space in their head for that. She's a special breed that lady.
Wishing Dr. Sofia, a very successful career - that young girl is SUPERB! She deserves every promotion available!
