Mr Moyes legacy? Pro; Escaped relegation then went on to create some stability, some top half finishes, attracting some great signings, bringing through talent like Rice and Bowen, some great nights in Europe and at the London Stadium and then the first European trophy since the sixties. Financed the club with the sale of Rice. A great start to this season, beating Brighton, Chelsea, Spurs, Man Utd and Arsenal, some wonderful football when Antonio, Kudus, Bowen and Paqueta were first able to join up. Con: some very dull, defensive football with terrible possession stats, some terrible results, especially since December. Some very poor defending with the worst goal defecit ever, lost by huge margins to Liverpool, Arsenal, Fulham, Palace and Chelsea. Money wasted on signings that didn't work out, transfer windows wasted, players not properly replaced leaving a squad that is need of a total restructuring, no youngsters properly blooded, many leaving the club, a poor relationship with the sporting director, some very disatisfied fans and very divided opinions about his legacy. On balance, a pretty good record, one that might be hard to better, but most of us are now happy to move on to a new era for better or for worse. He leaves us in much better shape than any of Pellegrini, Slav, Curbs, Fat Sam, Roeder, Grant, Pards, Bonds did, so let's not be too negative chaps. Good luck Mr M.

The truth about the GAS LIGHTING David Moyes, these are not my opinions as they are clear FACTS! 1. When Moyes took over the managers job in 2013 he sacked all of Fergies multiple league & cup winning backroom staff because Moyes wanted complete control of all of the aspects of the club. 12 years later the club have still not recovered from his incompetence 2. Having been SACKED by United in 2014 Moyes moved onto Real Sociedad where he lasted a year with a win rate of 29% before being SACKED AGAIN 3. During Moyes' time at Real Sociedad he did not make any attempts to learn Spanish. Sometime later Moyes got a new rule introduced within the Scottish FA that all new Scottish Managers who were undertaking their required badges had to learn a second language even though HE NEVER DID! 4. In 2016 Moyes joined Sunderland where he got them RELEGATED after achieving an amazingly low 19% win rate. Just like Man Utd, Sunderland have never recovered from it! 5. Moyes agreed to take over the WHU manager job whilst Slaven Bilic was still in charge 2017 (Slimy or what) for Moyes to then go onto having a 29% win rate even though Bilic win rate was 38% 6. In 2018 WHU decided not to extend Moyes 1 year contract so they brought onboard the 10 yes TEN managerial trophy winning Pelegrini as their new manager. The board had a knee jerk reaction in sacking him 18 months later in 2019 when WHU were in the relegation zone even though there was a good chance that he would have secured Prem League safety had he been allowed to carry on. 7. The WHU board decided to bring back David Moyes who previously had a 29% win rate to replace Pelegrini who had a win rate of 38% (the same as Bilic) 8. Moyes steadied the ship over the next 4 seasons whilst "AS HE LIKES TO TELL EVERYONE" that "HE" won them their first cup in 40 years ... and he did ... but look at the FACTS ... as the WHU had given Moyes over £500m worth of talent over the past 4 years. The really amazing fact is that this sum of money was MORE than ALL OF the teams that WHU played in that European competition COMBINED!!! 9. Moyes has an amazingly concerning poor history of hand picking new players himself that cost the club tens of millions of pounds to then play them out of position. Absolutely how I feel about him and the club, as a supporter of fifty some years, these last three or four seasons have been some of the best moments of my life, tempered with the frustration of some of his tactics and lack of belief. Thank you Mr Moyes and all the very best for your future.

I’m so glad we don’t have to hear how far up his own arse he is next season. These interviews by him all season have been awful. He praises himself for west ham achievements and then belittles that we should be finishing 9th because we’re not better than what’s above us. We tailed off because you played the same 13 players every week and we have the oldest average players on the league. You got rid of Fornals and benrahma and replaced them with somebody YOU wanted in defensive mid position who turned out to be the absolute worst signing for our club. Thank god this man is leaving this team. I’ll make sure I don’t watch talk sport either while his on it.

9th is a good season ? We are the 8th biggest spenders so that’s below expectations. Moyes biggest downfall is he doesn’t motivate a fan base to believe and that is what football is all about

If I could draw your mind back 12 months ago when Arsenal was trying to mug us off over the Declan Rice transfer. If I was Moyes I'd play 11 u21's ... fk Arsenal as a West Ham fan I will be cheering on City tomorrow.

You obviously haven't seen the dross of previous decades including several relegations. Nor noticed Villa Spurs and Leicester failing to win the "easy" Europa Conference.

Millwall is harder than West Ham.

He's done an amazing job with what he had at WHU. From board to players that we signed, yet he still won Conference League title.

He is a great coach and a great human being.

Honestly, don’t understand the hate this man gets. Pulled West Ham out of relegation, won a European trophy and finished top half of the table almost every season. I think people need to get real. It’s West Ham, not Chelsea or Arsenal. Not getting top 6 with the players they have.

@@julieannepaull Moyes isn’t the issue. He needed backing in the market to get some quality players and he didn’t really get that. He’s been overachieving with the club and fans will look back and realise how good they had it when he was here. Club needs to back the next manager with some finances.

@Titchygammon we are appointing a new head coach J LO, , not a new manager. We have a technical director who is in charge of buying and selling. Tim, did not see eye to eye with Moyes. Moyes will be thought of as a WHU legend. He was not sacked. His contract will expire at the end of the season. which isn't yet over. He will leave on good terms and with his head held high.

​​@@Titchygammonyou are not very well up on what's been going on at West ham are you, most fans are sick of explaining to the likes of you who just look at the table, we moved from our home to move forward and compete, we are not punching above our weight, moyes had done a good job but it's time to move on, the squad needs a huge rebuild which is also down to moyes not our boad

Are we talking about the bloke that wanted Harry McGuire, the bloke who loaned Phillips? The manager that now holds record for most goals conceded in a season by any West Ham team , don’t be subjective about him be Objective. Tim Steidtens signings kept him in a job fact. No westham manager has wasted more money than him fact.
