@darthhideous9084

@@RenegadeShepard69 The main crux of the argument is deceptive due to naming the more insignificant players of that title-winning side and completely ignoring everyone else. It's akin to saying "Guardiola came back to walk the league with Caceres, Gudjohnsen, Hleb, and Bojan in 2009, what a legend!" Ferdinand and Vidic were still there on defense and played often that season, Scholes returned from retirement to help make that midfield work, and Van Persie destroyed Welbeck's career by making him a non-factor. It was never a "challenge," the Glazers bought Van Persie in his prime as a parting gift for Ferguson so that he could retire at the end of the season and comfortably won the league by 11 points. It was very clearly an aging squad at the time and Ferguson made an absolutely dreadful effort to better it in the long term (Jones, Smalling, Kagawa, Nick Powell, Young, Bebe, Angelo Henriquez, et al.) making him playing an underrated role in not winning the league since. No other United supporter would ever say such a thing, as Ferguson's stupidly immune to criticism - but it's very true.

GoAT. From a Chelsea fan
Everyone will obviously give him credit for the mature response he gave in this interview but the reality is this was the title Sir Alex himself gave away. His persistence in not strengthening the midfield, signing midtable quality players like Ashley Young after saying “he wants to catch Barcelona” having been humiliated by them, favouring a limited goal poacher like Chicarito, “no value in the market” nonsense, making Scholes comeback from retirement etc. This rejection of moving on & improving the squad caused the loss of title. It was a lost season for United all round actually. They also went out in group stages of Champions League in a group that consisted Benfica, Basel and Otelul Galati. Humiliated by Athletic Bilbao home & away afterwards. He also preferred Park & even Rafael in CM to Pogba when he was ready which resulted in him leaving the club and cost United £89m. Sir Alex was too stubborn late in his career.
Let's not forget that this maniac spent 1 hour meeting with PSG before the match so they can give them ways and methods probably to beat Mancity and PSG played even worst so THANKS Alex

@@kyrshanborkharbani1673 have you been to manchester?
1:30 "Does your team take great credit from hanging in there with City until the very end of the season?". Erm.....no, not really. Let's not forget that this was the biggest choke in PL history. United were 8 points clear of City with 6 games to go.

Liverpool choked in 13/14 and 18/19. Don't forget it.

@@ethandraper4645 Possibly. However, neither were to the same degree as United's. In 18/19 it wasn't an end-of-season 'choke', but rather a run of relatively poor results mid-season (1 defeat and 4 draws in an 8-game spell) that did for Liverpool.

@@davidnesbit45 United bottled it no doubt. But Liverpool losing at home to Chelsea and blowing a 3-0 lead at Palace was just as bad.
You want to talk about a building a resilient culture at a club? He always talked about not letting losing becoming a habit, so when you lose a match, you damn sure won't lose the next one. It's why teams hated playing us after a loss. Lost the league in 2012 and ended the following season as champions... that's the kind of character this club hasn't had since he left.
Old red nose was quite respectful in defeat.
