Disposable batteries have their place but newer rechargeable batteries have come a long way, to the point that NiMH batteries actually have a bunch of advantages over traditional alkaline. I now use them in all my wireless microphones and I recommend you do the same.

I've been using rechargeables for about 5 years and I love it. I also use a 1 hour energizer battery charger because I want the max charge for the mics. I plug it in near the beginning of my setup up and they are fully charged by the time I need to test audio.
