I Unknowingly Faced the ALIEN GAMBIT

Ойындар

This video features my first ever encounter against the "Alien Gambit". This is a hyper aggressive and somewhat dubious variation against the Caro Kann Defense that has been popularized by ‪@Witty_AlienClips‬. Watch the whole video for a CRAZY finish!

Really well played. The great public usually love attackers, who doesn't? But there is a poetic beauty in keep the calm, dodge all the threats, block all the attacks, then suddenly counter-play and mate. That Queen sacrifice REALLY looked like a Judo tactics, using the violence of the attacker to finish him off all of a sudden. Impressive composture and timing.

Clicked because I didn't know what the Alien Gambit was, but then realized I've faced this opening before! I got it about a month ago, but didn't know it was a named gambit; I thought it was just a creative novelty. In my game, I found the correct opening sequence, but after Bc4+, I played ...e6. I also played far from optimal, but was eventually able to simplify while up in material and won the endgame.
