Oh yeah definitely mount that bag on a steel bracket with bracing it needs to be fixed directly to the timber trusse in the roof cavity. Otherwise once you start pounding it the wall bracket with let go.

Sweet setup James. The kind of thing I'd like when I get my place built as it's in the arse end of nowhere with no gym's about. Amazing what you can achieve with the body when you do a little everyday consistently. Good luck with the transformation!

Hi James, good luck with the gym and looks great. Made me reflect on my gym I created at about your age for probably the same purposes. Yes I put in several machines and similar to yours, the gym got used regularly for a couple of months then its usage just slowly dropped off to such an extent it is probably only used once a month now. Hope you and your family get more use of it than we did. 🙂

@@jamesabroad8589 I already have most of the equipment already HAHA! Only thing I don't have is the heavy bag. My spin bike is with Nisa's mom, and I'd probably stick my treadmill in my office when we get a place. So I've got my eye on your bike & treadmill. Hopefully we can score a place with a nice amount of land to build a gym, though. Otherwise, Nisa keeps talking about renting a place for my gym/martial arts training area. I've no idea how that would even work, but she keeps talking about me opening a gym eventually. I guess she means her having a gym where I just happen to do all the training...even though my Thai is currently Nid Noi, but I'm about to get started with the Mondly app. My baby girl is kinda keeping me busy and sleep deprived and not very inspired to study, though.
Good luck with the exercise room. I like the pull-up bar/rack. Saved that to my Lazada favorites. Thanks. I can do my own research but would appreciate any info you can share about adding PM2.5 filters to air con. You just shop for something the same size as your machine? I'm guessing filter sizes vary by machine. Thanks.

Hi James, I was a PTI for an airforce base many years ago, and used to operate the fitness centre. We had all the 'nautilus' brand equipment stations. It was interesting to see which ones were the most popular. I think your choice of equipment is fine although I would have bought an actual mountain bike and gone out on that, instead of the indoor machine... Your house is very nice indeed and I like the change in floor levels you have - was that a conscious choice or something to do with the land? Wait. Is this going to be a sad video about Ghosts of Christmas Past? Nostalgia is so depressing. Just seeing the short video clip of Christmas 2009 causes me to think about my own life, the water under the bridge and over the dam, and what might have been, not to mention wishing I could return to live a different time in my life. And, then, WHAT IS A GYM in one's 50s? A gym becomes sort of a wishful TIME MACHINE in our attempt to recover a bod now irretrievably lost. Nostalgia and longing for the past is such a Heartbreaker.
