About:
This week I attempted to learn a new languageLearning Spanish can be a fun and rewarding experience. It is a Romance language spoken by approximately 460 million people around the world, making it the second most spoken language in terms of native speakers. It is the official language in 21 countries and is spoken as a second language in many more.
There are many resources available for learning Spanish, including language classes, language exchange programs, and online courses. It can be helpful to set specific goals for your learning, such as being able to hold a conversation with a native speaker or reading a Spanish novel. Consistent practice, such as listening to Spanish music or watching Spanish-language movies, can also help with learning the language.
It can be challenging to learn a new language, but with dedication and practice, you can become proficient in Spanish too!

I am fluent in five languages, can understand a sixth without problems and am currently working on my seventh. I can also read and understand classical Latin and Greek. I don't think I will ever stop learning languages. It is by far the "hobby" with the biggest return on investment in the world.

@@chewfee956 well I've had the advantage of actually living in five countries with five different languages for significant periods of time. The sixth is Portuguese, which is very similar to Spanish, French and Italian, and I've been surrounded by Brazilian people in some of the places where I've lived. I am currently studying Russian which is completely new to me and I don't live in a Russian speaking country. What I have done in the past is do a deep dive into the grammar. Some vocabulary will come with that study of course. Then you have to build up two things: vocab and something I like to call "reflex speaking", which is almost like muscle memory but for languages. So for example when learning "this/these" you need to develope a reflex where every time you hear an "s" (plural) you say these. Or in Spanish, ever time you hear "la" you automatically put the adjective in feminine. I've heard many people say things like "la casa blancO". It's not a mistake that comes from not knowing the gender, it's just a lack of reflex. Anyway these two things have different methods: vocab comes from slow and methodical study and application; reflex comes with fast and repeated practice of the same kind of phrases or parts of phrases until they become second nature and basically roll off your tongue.

@@BusterBossJR Id tend to agree - especially with these style of creators. In addition, I always doubt that they are just picking it up for the first time before recording. I am sure some pre-study goes in. It also also easier for someone who speaks multiple languages, regardless of the differences. Much like an A1 athlete can learn other sports easier.

@@HeyQuinton For sure. I had spanish for a year or two like 5 years ago in school and when I picked it up last year again I realized how much I really remembered. Also, a language like spanish is way easier to learn than something like Dutch, Italian or French that in theory should be as easy to learn but because Spanish is heard everywhere and she mentioned she lives in Texas too you obviously already know a bit of spanish even if you've never studied it. These vids can be fun but they're not very realistic at all

@@BusterBossJR Spanish isn´t easy to learn, well maybe the basic yes, but the real spanish which is a different spanish in a lot of countries isn´t easy, beacause every countrie which speak spanish have different words for everything. Its examples about that for example mina wich mean a different thing depending about how is use, porque puede ser para referirse a una mujer como para referirse a una mina de minerales, thats a fast example but exists a lot of them. Como persona de país hispanohablante te dijo que no es fácil, ni siquiera las personas que lo hablan desde que nacieron pueden llegar a entender los diferentes españoles (hay excepción pero son muy pocas, además esta el tema de los distintos acentos que llega a cambiar el entendimiento), además de las jergas que se crean con el pasar del tiempo.

@@GustavoQuero Yeah of course slang is hard but learning spanish to the point of being able to hold a conversation takes a very short amount of time. I'd argue it's the easiest language in the world. Americans have a hard time understanding some british people at times but that doesn't mean they can't speak english you know what i mean?

I'd really like to see you do this for Indonesian. Also, I'm surprised you didn't go out on the town during your immersion as there is SO MANY Spanish speaking people where you are. You could have walked into any one of literary hundreds of Mexican restaurants, bars, grocery stores, random taco trucks, etc and learned a bit from any of them. I'm sure they all would have loved seeing you putting effort into learning their language. One of the reasons I suggested Indonesian is it is kind of similar to Spanish as far as sentence structure goes. Also it is very interesting as it is one of the newer languages. Indonesia has a LOT of islands, and they all kinda had different languages, so they decided to unify them with a common language that they created. I loved the video, and glad you are trying more languages. Thanks for all the vids you make! 👍♥ 👍

SPEAKING a new language is an essential part of learning it because it allows you to practice using the language in real-life situations. Here are a few reasons why SPEAKING is important when learning a new language: *It helps you build confidence in using the language. The more you speak, the more comfortable you will become with the language, and the more confident you will feel when speaking it. *It helps you to improve your pronunciation and accent. Speaking allows you to hear how words and phrases are pronounced and to practice saying them correctly. *It helps you to develop listening comprehension. When you speak a new language, you also improve your ability to understand it when others speak it. *It allows you to practice real-life communication and increase your fluency. In order to have meaningful conversations, and practice idiomatic expressions, you need to speak. *It allows you to make mistakes and learn from them, which is an important part of the learning process. I have been a teacher of Spanish for the past 10 years. Through my experience, I have had the opportunity to help countless students learn and improve their understanding and proficiency of the language. Whether you're a beginner or advanced learner, I am dedicated to providing you with the knowledge and skills to become fluent in Spanish. With my guidance and support, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the language, including grammar, vocabulary, and culture. I am author of Natural Learning which is a unique system of learning. BETTER LANGUAGE LEARNING - Learn languages by speaking (tinyurl.com/naturalsystem)
