I would absolutely try a plant based buffet, especially one with some creative application of food, but if I'm paying $50+ I think I'm gonna want a real steak or prime rib.

What sets Ruby apart? I am a big citric and look for things, but I love Ruby. She's not acting, you're not thinking about why she's saying that or doing this. She's just herself, and it's so natural it's like you're there enjoying the experience with her. Thank you Ruby!

Similar to Rachel Ray .....Ruby could've had TV show years ago.

The fact that everything is plant based blows my mind! The chicken and waffles totally looked like animal based. How they got the eggs to have the same flavor as eggs and also the texture and color is so similar. I would definitely want to fly to Las Vegas and try the plant based buffet, the food looks really creative and inventive (how they used slices of carrot as a type of lox was especially creative). Eating all those plants MUST be good for you, and then the nonalcoholic mocktail looks great, it is festive and doesn't have the feeling of deprivation despite the lack of alcohol. I watched every second of this with fascination and intense interest!

Ruby, I'm retired and watch You Tube hours a day between playing golf 5 times a week. Go to Vegas 4 times a year... I started watching you a year ago and just love your channel. I have no idea about your background, but your reviews on places to eat are VERY informative vs most others reporting on Vegas on KZread. You seem to have a great grasp on what is going on with what is in the foods you try, esp. with spices. While meals are usually comped on trips, it's good to know what else is available out there. While your plates are interesting, Mr. Ruby is more my style. Keep up the good work. It's very appreciated.

Love this! As a vegan it's so nice to have this option. The fish was probably hearts of palm, that is used a lot for fish replacement. I'm guessing the eggs were Just Egg or a house made equivalent (Just Egg is made from mung beans). Thanks for having an open mind about food (unlike some of the people in the comments 😂)

@@erikaromero6473 mung beans are a specific type of legume traditionally cultivated in East, Southeast, and South Asia. It can be used in multiple kinds of dishes. They are higher in protein, and I believe are low on the glycemic index. In the US they are often used as bean sprouts. Another use is in cellophane or glass noodles.

It's so exciting that this exists--ten years ago, I would not have imagined an entirely vegan buffet. So glad this is an option for the veggie friends! Even as a non-vegan, I love being able to choose plant-based options when they're available, and I would totally check this out. Kind of makes sense that it's pricy, considering some specialty veg ingredients are more expensive, and having done a fair amount of plant-based cooking, certain items can be a lot more time-consuming to make. A lot of work is going into making these dishes. This totally looks worth it to me!

I saw that Buddy V's is offering their Sunday Brunch buffet again for $55. I think it's a great value and I really enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Maybe a future video?

Although I am not vegan, I am gluten-free and appreciate that you keep an open mind and review all restaurants from the cheapest hot dog to the most expensive fine dining experience. Thanks to your videos, I now have a list of places that offer gluten-free options. And to all the naysayers on here, if it's not your thing, don't watch the video and just move on. There's no need to leave her rude comments or bad reviews. here's a thought, maybe try to find something nice to say instead? Maybe... I'm not a fan of vegan food, but I think you look beautiful today. It costs nothing to be kind or to be nice. ✌️❤

Love the original Crossroads in my hood (West Hollywood), but I’m not vegan and when I’m in Vegas, I want decadent food. This just seems more like an LA thing rather than a Vegas thing.

Vegan desserts are probably among the best, so that's disappointing that they didn't do the best in that area. I always say, when someone rates a vegan dessert high, "well, i mean, it's a dessert." What was suprising is that you liked everything else so much. I've been plant based for around 20 years total and i really enjoyed and appreciated your review. My husband and I are planning a vegas trip someday and we will absolutely be checking this place out just because of your review. It means a lot to think of us ❤

I’m not vegan but we loved Crossroads! I think that rosti came with the ‘steak’ at dinner. It was so good. I would definitely check out brunch if it has enough gluten free options.

BrisVegas is building Queen St Wharf casino development, replacing Treasury Casino. One casino in each major city $$$, The Star in Sydney and Crown Melbourne, is one too many. Plenty of vegan cafes in CBDs.

Not a vegan, but I would try this…I would just be concerned how much sodium is in the food.

Hello Ruby, Thanks for the video. Not sure about fried chicken that isn't chicken but I think I would give it a go. On a different note I do have a question about tipping. Do you leave something for the people clearing the tables? I always do but some people say that since it is buffet and you get your food that they don't leave anything. I was just wondering what is your feeling on that. Thanks again for all your vids. I really enjoy them.

A vegan brunch for 48 is a great price. Hopefully they will expand their hours. Probably want to see if it’s a success. I hope so.

Great review, as always! Though I am very much a surf n turf kinda gal, I think it's lovely that there are more plant-based options available now, especially in a buffet format. My friend's sister-in-law is a vegan pastry chef for some pretty famous restaurants in SF and LA and she'd always bring some delicious creations to our Thanksgiving potluck table. I'd want to check out Crossroads the next time I'm in Vegas for sure!

I'd try it. But I'd have a hard time convincing the people I normally go to Vegas with to give it a go.

But don't call it chicken when it's not. When vegans pretend it's meat, or cheese, or bacon, it drives me insane! If you can't eat meat, why pretend and shape it like meat? You should be against any association to an animal you're saving.

You gave a lot of great information and I don’t know why I am stuck on your mock tail, bit is a virgin “espresso martini” just a room temperature espresso in a martini glass?

@@nmelgar74 no one is saying you have to eat it. I wouldn't either because I never liked fish before I went vegan. But it's good to be open minded and at least try, which is what she did. It's amazing how much the flavor of certain animal products we're used to is actually derived from seasonings and cooking techniques that can easily be replicated using non animal alternatives. To me eating the body of a dead fish is far more off putting than eating a plant that's been seasoned/smoked etc.

@tofutuesday I have tried vegan dishes several times. Some are ok. The problem is how hard they try to immitate meat. There is no replicating it exactly. I’d prefer if they would just cook health meals that weren’t necessarily trying so hard to look and taste like meat or fish. I might do vegan pasta or pizzas etc just not vegan “chicken” or “fish” dishes. I’ve tried the chicken and meat ones and just not the same so doesn’t taste good to me. But give me vegan pizza with veggies and I’m happy. I love fish more than steak or chicken. So if I want to eat it I want the real thing not something with similar texture and replicated fish sauce. Nothing beats a good branzino dish or Mediterranean sea bass. Yummy

I need a guide to buffets. I have never been good at them. I just stuff myself in 20 mins and then feel sick for the rest of the day.

Does anyone know if Crossroads Kitchen is open as a restaurant (sans buffet) during the week?

The vegan buffet is nice for those that into that lifestyle but the price tag seems too high since most people aren't vegans. Lets hope they continue to stay successful

As for $48 per person, I think that's fair value for what you're getting, presentation looks great, and I'll take your word on the taste 🙂

One more for Daikon! I went there with a monthly vegan dining group last summer. They did this wonderful 8 course prix fixe meal for your group at just $25 per person. One of the best vegan dining experiences I’ve ever had. Second to Crossroads. Had dinner there last month and everything was fantastic!

You are too cute sometimes you remind me of when I got married and lived in Vegas in the late 80's -90's we would try all the different hotels and loved it. Thank you for what you do because Vegas is nothing like I remember.

The room looked really nice and it was very nicely presented but I'm not sure a plant based buffet would be worth it for $50. There just wouldn't be enough there for me for that price as a carnivore. I have tried a meatless brunch buffet at a local Middle Eastern style restaurant that was very good but it was less than $20 so it was totally worth it. It would probably be worth it for Vegetarians and Vegans.

Thank you for covering Crossroads. By far my favorite restaurant in Vegas. I’m so sad though this is only offered on weekends as I can only visit on weekdays.

My girlfriend and I love the Crossroads buffet. She is vegan and I'm not, also Resorts World is our favorite hotel because we are Hilton Diamond. I would skip dinner here because the portions are small, but the brunch buffet fixes my only complaint with Crossroads
