Some tips from a cosmetology student for working with this gel or any glycerin/humectant heavy gel: apply to soaking wet hair and rake and smooth through. Then apply a topper product with antihumectants or emollients like innersense inner peace, I create hold, or I create volume. The doux pop lock is also a topper/anti humectant gel. This gives you the moisture and hold you need while also providing a barrier against humidity.

Thank you for your expert clarification. On a lot of the videos I've seen, the person does not follow the directions exactly how it is on the product. So it's not a fair review of the product.

Can you try The Doux Pop Lock gel please? It is supposed to be a strong hold product and I would like to know how it would work for 4C kinks. Thanks!

It’s a clean fragrance. When I tried it the first time i didn’t add enough gel or water,small enough sections and I didn’t smooth and rake enough so I’ll try it again.

I’ve seen a few KZread videos on it haven’t tried it tho.I live in Louisiana I agree about the medium to strong hold gel it can get very humid here

Your review was spot on. When I first saw the texture I thought it would be like the kinky curly custard because it gives me hold. This one was to soft. Yes I don’t see a lot of people talking about this gel. I ‘be seen few reviews. I think next try I use I will combine with the mousse. I get what you’re saying about the climate. Last time I went to Florida even in March my hair would puff out. You need Extra hold.

First time using, yes, it took a while to fully dry, no flakes, nice,shiny and looks wet when it dried, my hair was defined and wavy , I hope it will last a couple of days.

@@Leaveit2Nessa The style last 2 days my first try, the second time 5 days, this time I sat under the dryer and let it seal. For me this is Rare, love the product, just freshened up my edges

Maybe you would have had a medium hold if you used it without a leave-in as instructed.

I have used it before. It's just ok. I hate the smell. I used it for a twist out. After about 5 days it made my hair kind of dry. So you do need to use a moisturizing leave in even though the website tells you not to use a leave in. I also used it to slick my hair back for a high puff. It works well for that. That is the only reason I didn't return it to Target.

You know, I tried it a second time without a leave-in and I actually preferred those results. Mine remained moisturized the whole time. I think I did 7 days before washing it off. My main thing with it is I wish it provided more longevity.

Yes sis, the moisture was definitely there.

I have mixed feelings towards this gel. It always ends up being sticky and I was told it wasn't completely dry. I then tried using less it didn't give the hold I needed 😒🤷🏾‍♀️

I did not experience any stickiness, thank God. But my hair felt super soft. Not sure if it has anything to do with the leave-in I used before applying it. Yes, the hold is not there. Do you use any leave-in before applying the gel?

The whole line is a stand alone product. Don’t layer or mix with anything else UNLESS you want hella flakes

A nice neck line-up is much needed
